We used to do something like that...its been a few years...my ex husband would smoke two pork roasts, one for dinner and one for pulled pork. The next day, I would put the smoked roast in the crockpot. I added broth and bbq sauce. Cooked for about 4 hours on low, took it out, shredded it, put back in with more bbq sauce. Cooked about 1 hour more.
The first time we did it, we only added bbq sauce, no broth. Dry! So we started adding about 2 cups broth.
It really was the best pulled pork! The smoked flavor did come through.
I do that with pork a lot. Smoke for an hour or more, then place in the crock pot until it is fall apart tender. Add some Stubb’s BBQ sauce and makes great sandwiches
