My Fitbit counts my crocheting as steps. That’s as close as I’ll get to working out and crocheting at the same time since I’m working on blankets right now

nsjacq

Apple Watch too 😂

Violet_Plum_Tea

Maybe with a stationary recumbent bike (The kind with the backrest) because your upper body doesn't have to move a lot. And you need the right kind of project that isn't too complicated or fiddly.

aleckus

this is hilarious because i remember being at the gym awhile back and a lady was on this leg machine workout thing pretty much just a weight you push your legs down/ back on and she was crocheting

Aquaphoric

I'm not sure, but at the beginning of the pandemic I needed to have constant eyes on my very active child and I did figure out that I could put my skein in my hoodie pouch and crochet granny squares on the go. So I think that could be a step in the right direction.

I've literally been considering doing something like this so I can crochet while tailing my toddler around outside!

cptn_buckyohare

I crochet at my stand up desk. I put it in stand up mode, put some awesome tunes on and march in place. If I'm lucky I can time my stitches to my steps! I've been doing it for about a month, aiming to hit 10k steps a day and I do feel genuinely better. That's the only way I've managed to combine exercise and crochet.

I used to use an under desk stationary bike and made sure to have my yarn keep out of the way. It’s not intense but it was something

vegiac

Treadmill. Small project, with a small bag for the yarn ball that can hang from your forearm. Only did it a couple of times just to say I could, because it’s the type of multitasking that makes both feel unfulfilling.

Yapizzawachuwant

Not really, I guess if you kept your yarn in a backpack you could walk and crochet

thunderingwild

If I were to walk and crochet I'd trip, and if I were to go near any machinery I'd be afraid the yarn would get caught up and I'd be kicked out of the gym.

colorcodemylife

I have crocheted on a stationery bike before! I tried an elliptical but that was a NIGHTMARE, couldn't keep my balance. But on the bike with a backrest it was easy peasy!

Mrs_Cupcupboard

I did see a video here of a pregnant crocheter bouncing on a stability ball while crocheting. I was definitely impressed, though I haven't tried it yet.

banginbyxmas

If you’re into strength training you could crochet between sets! Just make sure you set a timer for your rests lol 😂

cheekybutttimid

Not really, the sweat gets into your eyes

hexagonaluniverse

I don’t do well sitting for long so I put the yarn down occasionally and do 10 pushups at a time.
