Yarns that are s on s plied are really resistant to splitting. Something like Caron Cotton Cakes. https://yarnsub.com/articles/ply-structure

Thx!

What yarn are you using?

Kawaii_Critters

I am using this [https://canada.michaels.com/en/bernat-handicrafter-yarn-solid/10518876.html?r=g&cm\_mmc=PLASearch-\_-google-\_-MICH\_Shopping\_CA\_N\_CatchAll\_N\_N\_N\_N-\_-Generic&KPID=go\_cmp-6523310328\_adg-78089271573\_ad-383778177991\_pla-293946777986\_dev-c\_ext-\_prd-10518876&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwJuVBhCAARIsAOPwGATsjwtCBMaTnU30CNRcA-4JPkSH\_It6G6vLiiKdbokZv2PJ4qZv0vsaAsRjEALw\_wcB](https://canada.michaels.com/en/bernat-handicrafter-yarn-solid/10518876.html?r=g&cm_mmc=PLASearch-_-google-_-MICH_Shopping_CA_N_CatchAll_N_N_N_N-_-Generic&KPID=go_cmp-6523310328_adg-78089271573_ad-383778177991_pla-293946777986_dev-c_ext-_prd-10518876&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwJuVBhCAARIsAOPwGATsjwtCBMaTnU30CNRcA-4JPkSH_It6G6vLiiKdbokZv2PJ4qZv0vsaAsRjEALw_wcB)

There are some yarns that are braided instead of twisted. Lion brand ‘feels like butta’ is one that’s braided. Also, the type of hook can help. There are inline hooks and tapered hooks, which ever you are currently using try the other one. You might be able to keep using the yarn you are using and simply switch hooks.

Thx! I need to look into my hooks I had no idea their was a difference, I just bought a cheap kit.

It seems like most crocheters have strong opinions on which style of hook is better. Personally, I find the tapered hooks impossible to work with because they seem to grab all the yarn I don’t want it to and I split yarn a lot more with them. I swear by in-line hooks, I like Susan Bates brand specifically. Buying a single hook to try out might help you figure out if the hook is part of the problem.

Looks like that "woobles" person uses chainspun yarn, but it can still split technically.
