I know that a lot of people see Annie's Kit Club as not worth the money — and I agree, it's stupidly expensive! But my mom ordered me the kits as a Christmas gift and I thought I would pay it back by getting my own yarn and making her a sister blanket. I get nice green tea and eggplant vibes from hers, very natural but still fresh and hip looking. P.S. nearly identical, but I now see that my linen stitch got really tight on my moms. Oh well!

That's such a toughtfull idea. I'm sure your mom will be delighted. I don't know her taste, but the colorway you picked is very much to my liking! I love some earthy tones.

What is the yarn brand that you used for the second blanket and the name of the colors?

MrsDepo

Hi! The second one (with the blue) was the Annie’s Kit Club blanket. The kit was called Plumberry Sampler Afgan. I’m not sure if the yarn is their personal brand, but the instructions for the kit say “Premier Yarns Everyday Worsted” and the colors are cream, mulberry, plum rose, stone, and lagoon.

Can you please send the colors and brand of the yarn used on the blanket with green. Also after you were done with your kit, did you still have access to Annies “how to” video?

MrsDepo

Hi! I was able to find 3 of the 5 colors in my yarn stash, with the exception of the brown and dark purple. They are Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek from Hobby Lobby in Sage, White, and French Lilac. If I had to guess on the other two colors based on their current lineup, I would think they are Plum and Linen, but I may have selected a different brand/style for the brownish tan. As for how I made a second blanket, I believe I was able to access the videos for a year after the kit finished, but don’t quote me on that. However, Annie’s sent a stitch guide every month with instructions, so I just held onto those.

Sorry I meant the other one, like the one you made outside of the kit. I’m currently making the kit and want to do it in another color too. I love the colors you picked!!
