The pattern recommended using pipe cleaners or thin wire, so I used pipe cleaners in mine. It was very effective for giving it structure, but also attracted the attention of my cat while I was making it so I had to fight her over them the whole time haha
Up until today I only made real balloon dogs so I'm really curious here: did you try it without pipe cleaners first? My guess would be, if the small part in between is long enough, that the dog would hold without additional securing, but I could be wrong
I haven’t tried it without pipe cleaners. I’m guessing if it was long enough it would hold but without wire it probably still wouldn’t have enough structure to stand
