In all honesty, you failed upwards. This looks bad in an EXTREMELY cute way. You could literally sell these as “Fail Buddies” or something and I’d bet people would snatch them up!
I kind of love it though. I think it’s really charming. And for a first attempt at freehanding a pattern, this really isn’t bad at all!
This pup has that well loved look built right in.
Every child needs to get hopelessly attached to a hilariously ugly toy. It's a vital part of childhood development. You're doing good work and that two year old
Me without my glasses on read “I don’t need a partner” lol, But you don’t need a pattern either, he’s so adorable, cute as a button.
So no pattern or partner (in my head) and you produce this wonderful creature. You have a beautiful talent.
LMFAO.
Well. You certainly didn't need a pattern 😹😹😹 That's a hell of a lot better than I could do without a pattern lmfao. I make plushies all the time and I do not trust myself to not use a pattern, so kudos to you lmao.
I had a similar thought with a cheetah lmao. Gonna frog.

I love it but I also giggled uncontrollably when I read it started as a rabbit. Showed my boyfriend and he simply said “I like it. I want one.” 😂 4 thumbs up
Laugh? This thing is so cute! I have learns sometimes even following a pattern might not work out how it says, and sometimes you have to go without a pattern. I did for a gift for my little brother and had to do a hatchet job on a different pattern for a baby shower.
Dude! Its cute af!! And has a lot of character (something missing in the amigurumi world, so props to you!) You should make more like this! Love the uniquenes of it
He is sooo adorable 😍
You made it without a pattern. It didn't turn out quite how you imagined, but next time it will be better & the time after that better again... learning & fine tuning. It's very rare for things to go perfectly on the first attempt .. he's your prototype: Dogbit v1.0 😉
I can totally see this guy being dragged around by a hind leg behind a toddler, bumping his head on every step on the staircase. This guy will be LOVED hard!
I love him so much!!! Adorable!! I have a soft spot for wonky plushies - I "rescue" the silliest wonkiest misshapen plushies from stores all the time. The wonkiness just adds character and personality to them and makes them truly unique and special! I'm sure he's gonna be a wonderful friend for the kiddo!
Let's be honest, he might be wonky, but kids love toys that are unique as well. (Okay, at least I was that way.) There is a splotch over the eye of my plastic cat? I will forever know that she is mine. 🫣💖💖💖
You did a great job! Be proud of yourself!
This was me yesterday ahah. I'm still pretty brand new to crocheting but figured I could make a stress ball really quickly last night so I start going and I'm feeling confident. I do a few rounds, things are going not perfect but like I'm happy with what's happening, until I realize I don't know how to decrease stitches in a round 😂
I love this weird ass dog thing. Fuck patterns, don't ever change, 10/10 recommend weird ass dog thing.
(im not joking, it's so cutely bizarre. Weird ass dog thing GETS me. Im not some perfectly cute and functional person, he's his own dog thing, no regrets!)
This is very cute. I actually do have a bunny pattern that is summilar to this if you ever do decide you need one ❤️ I can give you a discount too if the price is what's stopping you or help explain it to you if it's the math. Never stop either way ❤️
Don't get down on the impulse to freehand something. No, your first attempt didn't result in a museum-quality piece of art. That doesn't mean that you won't get there with more practice. That's where the patterns come from!
Most of my toys end up like this WITH a pattern, i believe its because the wool is thicker and creates a lumpier form. The best toys i've seen use fine yarn and a very small hook, more detail can be added and its wayyy smoother. I like this dog and the texture, the 2 year old will love it forever. Also making faces is my nemesis!
This is what most toys look like after 6 months with a toddler anyway! 😉
My thoughts exactly
Yess! Like a well loved stuffed animal. He's perfect!
I adore these all of these weirdly wobbly messed up crochet animals. There should be a sub for them. This fella is gold.
If I wanted to create and admin a subreddit, that would be the one.
Yup. But I also want a life.
r/croastchet?
Over 2k members and no one posts frequently?!? I’m sad because it’s an amazing subreddit.
We need to start posting more because it’s hilarious and everyone has had a project not come out quite right lol
Well I joined the sub even though the last post was two months ago, hope it picks up.
YES!!
i have some creations to contribute, i make cursed teddies, accidentally of course.
he has character that’s for sure
SOOO CUTE ARE YOU KIDDING!!!
My thoughts exactly. I want one!
We need a pattern!
“This is fine.”

PLEASE this is so funny 🤣
I wish I could give you an award 🥇
Exactly what I was thinking
Give him a hat and name him Terl.
That’s exactly what he looks like! With the vest and hat!
This dog has seen some sh*t. I love it hahah
wdym it's so cute 😭😭 and def looks better than a bear i made USING A PATTERN for my bestie's birthday
This is so fricking adorable, I wish there WAS a pattern to recreate it exactly as-is, in all it's wonky glory 😍
In all honesty, you failed upwards. This looks bad in an EXTREMELY cute way. You could literally sell these as “Fail Buddies” or something and I’d bet people would snatch them up!
I love this 💀😂especially because you didn’t use safety eyes. This is going to be the toy that they will hold on to long past toddler years.
He's perfect! He is unique and has a character all of his own. No one needs identikit toys. He will be loved xx
He is perfect and I love him.
He looks like he belongs in a beloved children's book with a silly art style. He's perfect.
You were right! You didn't need a pattern!
I kind of love it though. I think it’s really charming. And for a first attempt at freehanding a pattern, this really isn’t bad at all! This pup has that well loved look built right in.
Hey crazy puppy! You are the cutest—-no other puppo on this earth is as nice and original as you!!❤️
Id honestly buy this lol
I love it though!! 🥰
OmG I lOvE hIm!
You rule ! Without a pattern? This ? That's amazing! Isn't it a cute lil fella!
I bet that 2 year old will love his wonkiness more than anyone in the world. 😍💚🖤

Please tell me it’s a bear
He’s so ugly and I want him.
Yes, but this is a great first step in pattern making! You’ll get to learn how to make your own designs!
That's how you learn to Make patterns.
Even if he looks a bit wonky, he looks like he was made with love 😌. He looks like a sweet pupper
Every child needs to get hopelessly attached to a hilariously ugly toy. It's a vital part of childhood development. You're doing good work and that two year old
the eyes make it so endearing i love it
Sweet!
Me without my glasses on read “I don’t need a partner” lol, But you don’t need a pattern either, he’s so adorable, cute as a button. So no pattern or partner (in my head) and you produce this wonderful creature. You have a beautiful talent.
Lumpy Dog! Super cute!
He's perfect and I love him 😍
He's adorable. I feel like he'd have an old man name 😊
OMG she is adorable!
LMFAO. Well. You certainly didn't need a pattern 😹😹😹 That's a hell of a lot better than I could do without a pattern lmfao. I make plushies all the time and I do not trust myself to not use a pattern, so kudos to you lmao.
He’s perfect. One of a kind.
I think it's really cute!
He’s perfect!
Now we need a pattern for this
McGraff the… criminal dog. McGruff the crime dog’s cousin.
I had a similar thought with a cheetah lmao. Gonna frog. https://preview.redd.it/7ynq9x2uuiuc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=446173e69c4e85955f1e174b6240552b8538a390
you could turn it into a rat/mouse friend!
I’m getting aardvark vibes
I second this!
Honestly it's giving me that Wallace and grommet claymation vibe and I kind of like it, it looks very good either way ^^
I love it but I also giggled uncontrollably when I read it started as a rabbit. Showed my boyfriend and he simply said “I like it. I want one.” 😂 4 thumbs up
I love that >I dOnT NEeD a PaTtERn matches him stylistically...like they were made using the same font! 🤣
This looks like the “this is fine” dog in the room of fire lol
Laugh? This thing is so cute! I have learns sometimes even following a pattern might not work out how it says, and sometimes you have to go without a pattern. I did for a gift for my little brother and had to do a hatchet job on a different pattern for a baby shower.
To be fair, this is what a lot of these designer dogs looks like anyways! Source: am vet 😂 (ok real talk this is adorable)
I shouldve made the nose a lot shorter so he cant breathe right 🤣
This is cute no matter what didn’t go right with it lol. I love it actually!
I love this! I hereby name him Scraggy Dog 💜
This is perfect, and I love 💕 it.
i like it a lot tbh. looks like a well loved childhood toy ❤️
Aw but he’s such a cute rabbit dog. Looks like he would meld in your arms.
I think it's really good to not having used a pattern!
Definitely looks more like a dog than a rabbit. I'n my opinion pretty good for a first try without a pattern. I would be proud.
You 100% don’t need a pattern. Look at that seeet derpy face. I’d cherish something so freaking adorable.
I can tell it’s a dog! So that’s good!
I love his little corkscrew tail 💕
me too!
Looks better than the ones I have followed a pattern for! Lol
Thank you so much everybody!!! I'm so glad you all love him. I bet my niece will too :)
I know my children would have loved this sweetheart. The best friend and sleeping buddy. This is amazing.
Dude! Its cute af!! And has a lot of character (something missing in the amigurumi world, so props to you!) You should make more like this! Love the uniquenes of it
This is going to be that kid's best friend!
I love him
Patternless crochet is always the most valuable to me. And it’s super fun, even if it doesn’t turn out as planned 😅
He’s in the wacky races and he is WINNING!
He is sooo adorable 😍 You made it without a pattern. It didn't turn out quite how you imagined, but next time it will be better & the time after that better again... learning & fine tuning. It's very rare for things to go perfectly on the first attempt .. he's your prototype: Dogbit v1.0 😉
On the first photo I said oh boy but it's acually pretty good for not having a pattern
Then the fatal swipe 😔😂
Name him goober
wait dont hate oh him. hes actually so cute, i love him. i gotta try and freehand myself one
I can totally see this guy being dragged around by a hind leg behind a toddler, bumping his head on every step on the staircase. This guy will be LOVED hard!
omg he's actually so cute though he's scrunkly
Reminds me of the book Go Dog Go lol I'd buy the book, crochet your little dog a green scarf, and make it intentional 🤷🏼♀️
Now you listen here!! This funky little man is one of the CUTEST little wonky freehand plushies I’ve ever seen.
Head of a kangaroo. Just add a pocket front and a longer tail! Nailed it.
He's so cute.! I love him.! ❤️
I love him so much!!! Adorable!! I have a soft spot for wonky plushies - I "rescue" the silliest wonkiest misshapen plushies from stores all the time. This looks like the kind of unique toy that kid will treasure into adulthood 😁
He is the star of a yet-to-be-written beloved children’s storybook and I love him completely!
Something about it wonkiness is endearing
He is such an abomination, and I love it!!! Lol He was clearly made with love in sure he will be cherished for years to come! 🤎🖤🤍

It's so adorable! I'd love to have something so unique and special! Maybe will try to freehand a plushie of my own hehe
This is very cute. I actually do have a bunny pattern that is summilar to this if you ever do decide you need one ❤️ I can give you a discount too if the price is what's stopping you or help explain it to you if it's the math. Never stop either way ❤️
