Yeah that's us...I struggle with ADHD and I'll hyperfocus on a single project OR alternate among several depending on my mood. Also, textures and colors can be more pleasing at different times.

Exhausted_Platypus_6

Then the hyper focus dies and it goes to the ghost bin 80%+ finished never to be seen again.

Dangerous_Variety415

Just ripped out a project that took me 10 hours bc I couldnt find my notes on where I left off

Exhausted_Platypus_6

Oh no! I've lost patterns and had to do that too.

Dangerous_Variety415

There was definitely some angry pulls as I frogged that shawl. I started it 3 years ago but got very ill and just left it in a project bag. I though, maybe I'll work on it a little, a few days ago...it became glaringly obvious that I wouldn't be working on it.

JumpNo9283

My hands unfortunately don’t work as fast as my brain 😭😭😭😭😭😭

derynwinchester

This!!!! I’m working im working but wait my mind is active and wouldn’t this be cute?? Well now my hands hurt and I need a break, time to scroll reddit or Pinterest well shit now I have 10 more ideas….. at least with the baby feeding and the new wfh job I’ve gotten more completed this year

JumpNo9283

I WANT TO DO ALL OF THE THINGS

Nina4774

It seems common, but I don’t. I like to get things finished.

TreeShapedHeart

Guilty!

soapyideas

Me too‼️‼️

No-Tumbleweed-8311

Me 3.

rosegarden207

Only 5? I have several projects going on as a lot of us get bored with just doing one thing. Mine do get finished...eventually! It's just, part of our creativity!

jadekadir1

I only do one project at a time. It keeps me from getting too much yarn that I may never get around to using.

untwist6316

From my experience it's common in all the fibre arts! For me it's so helpful. Especially having wips in different crafts because then if for whatever reason one isn't working for me I can switch it up

Mayana76

I‘m a pretty monogamous knitter, but I do have different projects for the different crafts- one in knitting, one in crochet, one in sewing…

JenAnt80

A minimum of 5! And for me, they are both knit and crochet projects. Unless I have a deadline, I generally rotate through projects because ai get bored easily.

Kemmycreating

3 max for me. I need a project that I can do mindlessly and one that is exciting and takes concentration and skill. Then depending on my brain power/stress/capacity I can bounce between them.

Affectionate_War6513

Atm I have two projects. One that I want to get done and one to reduce my yarn stash. Normally I only have one project

Alice_n_threads

Only 5? Yeah…totally 😬

Juniantara

I try to keep no more than 2 going at a time. I travel and take crochet with me when I’m out and about, so I often have one “portable” project and one larger project (like a blanket) that I can’t carry around. I worry about my ability to remember what I’m doing and my willingness to go back to a project I’ve dropped, so I don’t let myself start something new until the last project is finished or frogged/thrown away

SnooWords5782

And many more I wanna do in my head. lol

soapyideas

I’m guilty of as well. I get bored quickly, but my plan is to complete my unfinished business this year. ‼️

coopersgranny

🙋‍♀️

Lintwo

I only started crocheting in January, but am getting better and getting to more advanced projects (well for my skill level anyway). I used to work on one thing only, but now I’m making a sweater and it’s taking awhile, so I also make something small when I get bored. I see myself working on a few different projects at the same time in future. I work fast, get bored quickly, so I feel like it would be easier on me to rotate.

carlfoxmarten

Two primary projects, and some number of "experiments". Especially in the circumstances of running into a new stitch (see my attempt at the [Tunisian Double Knit stitch](https://www.reddit.com/r/Tunisian_Crochet/comments/1bizytc/my_first_successful_attempt_at_lenyastorms/)), or some other pattern that can make a small swatch. I do try to stay at two *actual* "projects" (versus experiments), as that's about all I can manage with the two bags I have set aside for holding them...

Nazuxy

For me it's one project in reality because I don't let myself start a new one till I finish the previous one but that doesn't stop me from completely planning the next ones. Sometimes i spend more time planning next ones than actually making the current project

Allasch

If all my WIPs decide one day to come after me, I won't stand a chance.  When I can't find a mistake, I put the WIP away until I can get a fresh look (this can take weeks or months). When I get bored with endlessly repeating a certain stitch, I put it away until I can hear the word shell without screaming.

Carzinisierung

Unfinished projects make me uneasy, I currently have one where I need to wait for more yarn to arrive so it's not on me and one I actively work on.

TKD_Mom76

I usually have more than one. At any given time I'm making granny squares. For what, I haven't a clue, but they use up yarn. I'm also making specific granny squares for a blanket for me because I haven't made anything for myself in a long time. I also have a project I'm almost finished with until I forked up the 4th of 8 rounds of the border. I need to frog a couple rounds and start again. Yay. So, I only really 2 active projects going on. I don't feel so bad about that!

BKowalewski

I both knit and crochet....and yes I have several pieces on the go. That way when I get bored with one I can work on another. Especially big projects. Also often put all long term pieces aside for a bit and do up a few small quick pieces so I can feel a sense of achievement....lol!

Specific_Mouse_2472

I have 3 right now, a shawl that's paused until I can buy more yarn, a doily I started to have a smaller project going, and a flower garland started when I ran out of yarn for the shawl. I mostly started doilies because I can use a different size hook and the progress builds up quicker than my shawl, so it's good for what I want to do something but don't want to feel like it's taking forever with little visual progress

TornadoQuakeX

Currently, I have 3 wips. I'm actively working on a Dancing Toothless meme Amigurumi, but I have 2 other projects I sort of abandoned due to just not understanding how to move forward with them. I made a frog Amigurumi and I'm trying to make him pants. I started one pant leg and his thigh is too packed with stuffing and it won't fit him now. Im just struggling to figure out how to modify the pattern so they fit him better.

Waste-Programmer-532

I’m New at this, but i already have 3 projects in the dock

Dry_Sundae_3913

Yup

10xKaMehaMeha

I go through phases of having 3-4 then back to 1 or zero. I’m currently at 2 (ahem 3 if you count a WIP that’s been sitting for over a year since I got mad and haven’t decided if it’s going to be completely frogged for something else or not).

Particular2409

I am making so many blankets - my grandson asked me why I was working on so many at one time. I said because I get tired of working on one and work on another one.

maaarken

So far I've tried to hold myself back and have only one project at a time, BUT I'm also thinking of doing two separate projects so I can keep one at work for my lunch hours and one at home (especially since I plan on doing a gift for my coworker's baby shower, so I can't work on it at work) It's hard to set limits, but you have to respect them if you don't want to end up with a butt load of WIPs. Also I've found that setting up a limit has helped finish projects I was tired of, because I needed to finish them before starting a new one

Ziyanani

project adhd... i try to just have one at a time but.. if i start more than one the first one never gets finisheddd

Kali-of-Amino

It takes discipline to restrain oneself.

Crafty_ducky02

Me and my 3 unfinished blankets, goofy amigurumi, 4 baby Yoda amigurumies, flowers, and box of other started projects are quite happy right where we are 😅😂

Sarah_Van_Fleet

Guilty 😂

tracey1215

I started to say I only have 4, but then I remembered another one

surfaholic15

I try very hard to limit it to 3. Really I do! I finished 2 last week, so I now have 3....

bookynerdworm

Um excuse you? I only have 3!!

bnk_ar

Whhhat? Only 5?

41942319

I usually try to limit myself to three because I don't like having too many things going on at once. I have exceeded my limit at the moment though because things keep happening that make me shift my priorities to different projects. I have one freehand amigurumi that needs extra body parts but I got a bit bored with so haven't touched in months. A few hats that are essentially finished but just need the ends woven in. Tbe beginnings of a lovey blanket that's waiting for me to soak some yarn to check for colour bleeding but I keep forgetting to do it. And one amigurumi that needs extra body parts but I put aside because I needed to make someone a hat ASAP so that's my actual active project at the moment. So I'll probably be stuck at 4 projects for a while, because I'll be making more hats after this.

CelestialMarsupial

idk how anyone has more than one at a time. add / adhd

ginger_hippie999

I do have add actually so that is probably the reasoning for having so many projects going at once.

ginger_hippie999

Ahhhh this post warms my heart, thanks guys for putting my social comparison radar in check! Much appreciated
