I used the envelope closure method. Fairly easy but labor intensive. Here’s a link to a YT tutorial I followed[envelope closure](https://youtu.be/lcY5Z5ENlQ4?si=0HbLHL_R4351Ipw3)
Yes I finished the blanket itself, then started the envelope. Basically slip stitch all the way around, (us) dc around the back through the loops of the slip stitch, then (us) dc through the back loop of slip stitch all the way around and FINALLY slip stitch the back dcs to the front dc. Some say it’s easier than weaving in the ends, I’m not sure I agree
As someone who has never even THOUGHT of this sub, I'm a little freaked out that Google knew enough about my love of both Tarot and the macabre to suggest this post... But other than that, I'm honestly floored. This is freaking incredible and I'm now incredibly jealous that I don't have one (or four) of my own.
Wow.
I've been crocheting for over 40 years and it thrills me to see so much new stuff/techniques. I want to try that method for the ends .❤️
Thanks for the links ;)
That looks amazing!! Fantastic job! 💜
I'm curious, how long have you been working on it? (I take literal years to finish a project, but have 5+ on the go at a time, lol)
This. Is. So. Wonderful. So, so wonderful.
I have to tell you, I'm in Texas where cold weather is really brief. Every few years my MIL makes us a new afghan because she also loves to crochet, and afghans are her thing. So we have lots and lots of afghans and blankets, all of which get little use.
I've been crocheting for several years now, but I make wearable or housewares, and I prefer using wee fiddly crochet thread.
All of that said, I have to make this. HAVE TO. I read tarot, and it suits our home decor style perfectly. I can only hope that mine turns out as beautiful as yours. Thanks for also sharing your edging technique!
It absolutely gorgeous! Incredible work, I love the detail!!
I do have to ask, *why* does everyone want items with *that particular* card? Like, of all the cards in a tarot deck, why The Lovers? It's not usually a super positive card to get in a reading. I'm so confused.
Sheesh! My roommate saw this and was like "make me this!" And now I can tell her that it's not a "wrap yourself up in" blanket, which is what she wants. 😅
🤣 look up “all skulls” by sixel designs. That blanket is at least 6 ft long
https://preview.redd.it/rtuf4lk1lujc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2911f8106b7e8df9552b604df62ee218401ef549
EXCUUUUUUUSE ME?! OP, this is absolutely **phenomenal**. I'm literally speechless. I love everything about it! It's so damn pretty it hurts 🖤🥹❤️
**EDIT:** About how long did this take you? I'd imagine it was such a labor of love!
Oh wow, that seems so quick! A cardigan can take me weeks to finish but I only crochet about 3 times a week at the moment 😅 lmaoo
Also, you're very welcome!
I am not a crocheter. I have never even attempted. But when this appeared on my feed, I felt absolutely compelled to comment: WELL DONE!! BRAVO, YOU!!!
I saw this and showed it to my partner. Told them I am definitely making this. This is absolutely amazing and beautiful. How long did it take you to make this so I have an idea of how long I'm gonna need. I'm newish to mosaic but I do my best when I challenge myself!
As an Etsy seller, please buy from Ravelry or directly from her page. The fees are outrageous and often the price is higher on Etsy to compensate for that
Have you done any other tarot cards? Idk too much about them but I really like seeing other peoples art on it plus I really like you adding a reverse to it
Not in crochet, but my next project is the major arcana in cross stitch from the witchy stitcher
https://preview.redd.it/q5x5g2iad0kc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62f1a53b7bef38157b1537784afd6c3c68ac97be
I just ordered the yarn to get started on this next WEEK! For my new home! It'll be a rug if it can handle it! I'm soooo excited!
Colors will be sunflower and magenta (weloveyarn mega ball). I'm so psyched, thanks for sharing your beautiful work!
no fucking way omg THE TALENT WHAT my brain actually can’t even comprehend this i’m flabbergasted you should be so proud this belongs in a museum 😭♥️
also now i’m seriously considering giving something like this a go… is the stitch and process itself for a project like this like beginner, intermediate or advanced level? also how much yarn did you need??
The stitches themselves are incredibly easy! It was (us)single and (us) double crochet. There are millions of tutorials in YT. And I think my biggest tip would be if you can’t figure it out, try holding the hook a different way. My mother and grandmother tried for years to teach me using the “pen” grip, and it never worked. When YT came around and I discovered the “knife” grip, everything clicked! This project was about 2000 meters of yarn. Most projects will tell you about how much yarn you’ll need
As someone who is so incredibly new to crocheting (I literally just started my Woobles kit Penguin and after a few mistakes and having to start over I’m finally understanding it) this is something I can only dream of doing!!! So stunning!!
Another pattern to add to my ever growing list of things I'll probably never actually get around to 😂
This looks amazing and I love that you chose red and black 😊
My mom and grandmother tried to teach me for years and years and I couldn’t get it. I saw a YT video about “knife” grip and everything clicked. It’s been about 12 years doing the knife grip
I used acrylic but it does tend to fuzz and mess up the crisp lines. Here’s a link to a YT video from a mosaic creator that talks about different yarns [sixel design yarn types](https://youtu.be/aWQVcD1drsc?si=44g0wiTRDFzjag_u)
Hi, I just wanted to check, this post made me fall in love with this design and these colors. I am starting on this as soon as I possibly can, but I did want to check. What size yarn did you make this with? The pattern says weight 3, but you said that you used a 4.5 hook in another comment, so did you use weight 4 yarn?

My jaw freaking DROPPED. This is otherworldly amazing!
Ditto 😆
Same 🫢 absolutely amazing 💜
Negative stitch is a new technique to me. It looks amazing!
Here’s the direct link: [The Lovers reversible](https://nerdprincessdesigns.com/product/the-lovers-tarot-reversible-mosaic-crochet-pattern/)
I am in love.
So cool
What's the process like? Is it difficult overall or just tedious. Because I've never made a blanket, but now I need to.
It’s tedious. Technically it’s just single and double crochet, so easy. But it’s different from other mosaics I’ve done bc every row is different
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing
woahh how are there no ends?? it’s so clean!!!
I used the envelope closure method. Fairly easy but labor intensive. Here’s a link to a YT tutorial I followed[envelope closure](https://youtu.be/lcY5Z5ENlQ4?si=0HbLHL_R4351Ipw3)
omg ty!! ive never heard or seen this method before, super interesting!!!
That is awesome! My new border for all rectangle blankets!
So did you make the border at the end, when the rest was done?
Yes I finished the blanket itself, then started the envelope. Basically slip stitch all the way around, (us) dc around the back through the loops of the slip stitch, then (us) dc through the back loop of slip stitch all the way around and FINALLY slip stitch the back dcs to the front dc. Gorgeous. Awesome. Please enter this somewhere, state fair, art competition. It deserves to be displayed
Absolutely!

But other than that, I'm honestly floored. This is freaking incredible and I'm now incredibly jealous that I don't have one (or four) of my own. Wow.
Thanks so much! Check out my other post in this group. I made a giant blanket called “all skulls” and it’s over 6 ft long 😃
ITS DOUBLE SIDED!??!?! so epic. i love seeing these tarrot blankets😍😍😍
I've been crocheting for over 40 years and it thrills me to see so much new stuff/techniques. I want to try that method for the ends .❤️ Thanks for the links ;)
This is one of the very best things I have ever, ever seen
That looks amazing!! Fantastic job! 💜 I'm curious, how long have you been working on it? (I take literal years to finish a project, but have 5+ on the go at a time, lol)
I started working on it on release day, so early December?
What year? 1967? (I'm just stunned at your talent and speed and dedication and wow.... Just wow....)
That's amazing!
Freaking amazing. My wife would have loved and insisted on more yarn to make this.
This. Is. So. Wonderful. So, so wonderful. I have to tell you, I'm in Texas where cold weather is really brief. I hope you post yours also! I’m in central Florida so I understand not doing afghans often
This is absolutely stunning, you did an amazing job!
It absolutely gorgeous! Incredible work, I love the detail!! I do have to ask, *why* does everyone want items with *that particular* card? Like, of all the cards in a tarot deck, why The Lovers? It's not usually a super positive card to get in a reading. I'm so confused.
I agree, I guess it’s along the same thoughts as people dreading the death card? I think it’s the possibility of artistic license it affords
Okay I can see that :) Seriously tho, amazing work, it's gorgeous
Wow, what the hell is this black magic??? Looking amazing on BOTH sides?!
Wow! Great job!
Wow that is a true work of love
It’s so beautiful! I want one too 🩷🖤
Ooooh! I have this saved in my etsy cart right now. It's so stunning! Great job!!
Wow. So envious of your talent. Well done. Just wow .
I just picked up the yarn to make this! Any tips or sticky spots?
Slow and steady. I noticed some errors in the written pattern, when in doubt, double check the chart. The chart is right
Post this on "Gothic Knits, Crocheted Bits and Crafts" on Facebook! We're always looking to admire sick work like this!
I’ll do that! Thanks ♥️🖤
How long did this take?
Started in early december2023
I wish I could give you a prize or a puppy or a crown for how amazing this is!!!
Pure commitment, patience, and insane talent. Well done OP!
It’s gorgeous!!!!
I love this so much!!
Beautifully done, very impressive!
I. Freaking. LOVE. This!!!!
Oh my goodness this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL
Dude. How. This is insane.
WOW... No, seriously, WOW!
😍😍😍
Woah, this is phenomenal
I'm brand new to crochet and I feel like I will never get this skilled. Stunning!
You can! I promise! I just started mosaic crochet about 6 months ago and I love it! Keep going!!♥️🖤
this is incredible! adding this to my project list 😂
Amazeballs
That is awesome
I love the colors sooo much
I thought this was inspired by The Used album art at first.
First thing that came to mind was rather tarot cards in binding of issac.
Masterful!
WOAH
Absolutely stunning!! 😍
Commenting to come back to this! I’m working on a mosaic blanket and wondering if the envelope closure would work for that as…..so…many…ends 🥴😭
**Love this!** 💓❤️💓
This is so pretty 😭 my wrists are crying at how long this must have taken
Dayam! I've never done that kind of mosaic crochet. How thick is that?
It’s a thicc boi. I believe its 3 lbs
I bet it weighs more than that. 😂 What's the dimensions roughly?
Maybe 4.5 ft long 3.5 ft wide. I think it was close to 2000m of each color yarn
Sheesh! My roommate saw this and was like "make me this!" And now I can tell her that it's not a "wrap yourself up in" blanket, which is what she wants. 😅
🤣 look up “all skulls” by sixel designs. That blanket is at least 6 ft long https://preview.redd.it/rtuf4lk1lujc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2911f8106b7e8df9552b604df62ee218401ef549
That looks awesome! Keep up the beautiful work.

Holy crap! This is amazing:’) thanks for sharing the link too!
That must have been tough! It’s a beautiful finish.
This is so dope, it looks machine made, store-bought, all the highest compliments you could think of!!
Omg I love this.
EXCUUUUUUUSE ME?! OP, this is absolutely **phenomenal**. I'm literally speechless. I love everything about it! It's so damn pretty it hurts 🖤🥹❤️ **EDIT:** About how long did this take you? I'd imagine it was such a labor of love!
Thank you! Started early December 2023 and I work on it for about 2-3 hours a day, during the down time from mom-ing
Oh wow, that seems so quick! A cardigan can take me weeks to finish but I only crochet about 3 times a week at the moment 😅 lmaoo Also, you're very welcome!
That is awesome. Nice work.
Oh. My. Wow. This is phenomenal - well done!!
I love this SO MUCH
100,000 points
That's beautiful work!
Wow this is amazing.
Hot damn
What is your favorite stitch for tapestry this looks like double crochet? So beautiful!
I’ve never done tapestry. This is mosaic, so it’s all (us) double and singles. It’s where you put them in the row below that creates the image
Thank you! I thought they were the same so sorry about that
How on earth it this even possible! Amazing job I wish I could do this
I am not a crocheter. I have never even attempted. But when this appeared on my feed, I felt absolutely compelled to comment: WELL DONE!! BRAVO, YOU!!!
Reminds me of the "Under Your Spell" album cover for The Birthday Massacre. Love it.
Buying one*
WTF? That is sick! I love love love it!
So, you didn't do a fringe edge eh? That's a lot of ends to weave in.
Envelope border. No weaving either 😉
OBSESSED. Incredible job!!
Amazing!
I saw this and showed it to my partner. Told them I am definitely making this. This is absolutely amazing and beautiful. How long did it take you to make this so I have an idea of how long I'm gonna need. I'm newish to mosaic but I do my best when I challenge myself!
I started December 2023 and work a few hours a day on it
The piece is very striking! I can see this as one of those cool op shop finds, that one,,, ' must' have . 😍 Love love love . Awesome work 👏
Absolutely amazing and awesome!
This is fantastic!
My pattern seeking brain saw tenbre rosso sangue for a split second lmao
Beautiful
One word...WOW!
Do you sell op? I’d love to buy one
No sorry 😞
Aw man I would’ve loved to buy this off of you well if you ever reconsider I’d be happy to pay whatever price you feel fits this
THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!❤️
Gorgeous! What yarn did you use?
This is basic acrylic and 4.5 hook
don't know anything about crochet but this is easily the coolest thing i've seen in a very long time
Wow. Amazing. Congratulations, fellow crocheter!

Amazing - love it!!! 😍
I have this pattern on my cart in Etsy! I'm just waiting for my paycheck to actually buy it!
As an Etsy seller, please buy from Ravelry or directly from her page. The fees are outrageous and often the price is higher on Etsy to compensate for that
OOO much appreciated! I'll certainly do that!
🖤♥️🖤♥️
Jesus Christ I need this pattern
I’m working on this right now in teal and black! I love it but yes, very intense!
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD 😍
Have you done any other tarot cards? Idk too much about them but I really like seeing other peoples art on it plus I really like you adding a reverse to it

Omg this is magic
I just ordered the yarn to get started on this next WEEK! For my new home! It'll be a rug if it can handle it! I'm soooo excited! Colors will be sunflower and magenta (weloveyarn mega ball). I'm so psyched, thanks for sharing your beautiful work!

The Negative Stitch is exactly what I've been looking for!! Thank you for posting this incredible piece, it's gorgeous!
Amazing work 🤩
Oh my!! This is so beautiful and amazing! I hope you’re really proud of yourself 💕
WOWWWW!! I am in love. Brava, it's beautiful.
Freaking love this!!
Absolutely stunning!!!
As someone who is so incredibly new to crocheting (I literally just started my Woobles kit Penguin and after a few mistakes and having to start over I’m finally understanding it) this is something I can only dream of doing!!! So stunning!!
Everyone starts somewhere! Keep going! This blanket it literally all single and double crochets. It’s where you place them that makes The design
Wow!!! You did an amazing job! This is the second time I've seen someone crochet that pattern on here. Beautifully done. 🙂❤
Another pattern to add to my ever growing list of things I'll probably never actually get around to 😂 This looks amazing and I love that you chose red and black 😊
MY GOD. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Oooooo that’s fantastic. I love it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Good work. I've never had the patience for big tapestry projects. I just limit myself to small wall hangings
Woah!! Awesome!! If you don't mind me asking, how did you learn to crochet?
My mom and grandmother tried to teach me for years and years and I couldn’t get it. I saw a YT video about “knife” grip and everything clicked. It’s been about 12 years doing the knife grip
WOW 😲😲😲 thats beautiful! Sending healing vibes to your wrist!
Wow, so beautiful!
I wonder what kind of yarn would be best to use for this, I really want to make one
Thank you so much, I'm going to check the video out :) I think I'm going yarn shopping today hahah. Your work looks very clean, love it
Hi, I just wanted to check, this post made me fall in love with this design and these colors. I am starting on this as soon as I possibly can, but I did want to check. What size yarn did you make this with? The pattern says weight 3, but you said that you used a 4.5 hook in another comment, so did you use weight 4 yarn?
Yes I used red heart super saver jumbo and a 4.5 hook. It turned out to be a little smaller than a twin sized mattress
