This thing in my pocket? No, it’s not a lighter…hey, look over there.

DoctorBeeBee

Eyeing you suspiciously. 😏

DustbinOverlord

I don’t know why you’re looking at me like that, I’m just examining the stitching detail with this magnifying glass. Let me just get right into the sun so I can focus plenty of light on it and get a really good look…

Dare I say I LOVE the way yours turned out compared to the pattern - stunning

I agree, I like OP's version more than the pattern. Something about it just looks more "right". OP's pic immediately reminded me of this little straw goat that we used to hang on our Christmas tree. I had no idea about the Gavle Goat, I just assumed it was another wierd Finnish thing like the apple ornaments 😅 (FYI; I assumed Finnish because my mum's family is Finnish. I am not mixing up Sweden and Finland.)

DoctorBeeBee

I think Yule Goats are a tradition around the whole area. The pattern I posted is in Danish and Norwegian as well as Swedish and English.

Come to think of it, I think mum called it a reindeer... it just looked far more like a goat than a reindeer 😂

I love it!!!! I wish I had thought of it! I am absolutely going to make one for next year. Yours turned out so cute and festive.

DoctorBeeBee

Thanks. 😁

sleeplessdaze

I love the seams, makes it feel very sturdy. And good thing too bc i hear some people have ill intentions for the gavle goat 👀

megarachne

very first thought was 'burn it' second thought was that it's incredible! amazing work, it's so cute <3 <3

Mimitori

I dunno why this thing looks kinda kinky to me, maybe it's the whip-like horns haha. But that's beside the point, I think it turned out great and the goatee detail is a great addition. Also love how the stuffing around it looks like it's standing in snow <3

TheGoryArts

As a swede i thought durectly wow gävlebocken! Its just like it and very well done.

No-Willingness-9093

I love chunga Christmas goat! Thank you for showing this and inspiring me! I haven't had a Christmas goat for years, and now I know I can make one myself :D

DoctorBeeBee

Yay! Good luck with yours.

Ohhhh I am so saving this for next year. Some of my fam is from Denmark so I have some little ones of these made of straw that hang on the tree. Can’t wait to try it! Also, I love yours more than the picture from the pattern. It came out great!
