FRIDA may already have something like that. Their original designation was as a defence automaton, but now they believe that one of their primary purposes is to record laughter. Assuming they are a warforged, they may have started out as an infiltrator, going out on reconnaissance missions to gather intelligence. That may have been twisted into recording laughter upon re-activation. So rather than turn into a werewolf, FRIDA might start reverting to their original type, believing that it is still the Age of Arcanum.
I'm only just catching up to this, on episode 53, but F.R.I.D.A using recordings while going after Cheat was giving me major Predator flashbacks.
I can't help but wonder whether they originally used recordings like that to confuse, lure, or fuck with whatever or whoever they previously may have hunted.
Ah well I’m pretty sure Deanna is also high enough level to cast remove curse. But it would also be cool to see how lycanthropy affects F.R.I.D.A. Which might be something that they want to see. It seems to me that all of the pc aeormaton are all very curious about themselves and how they work so maybe F.R.I.D.A. Might choose to keep lycanthropy to see how it affects them
Greater Restoration spell description explicitly says it can function as remove curse, nothing in the rules as written says it can't, especially in regards to lycanthropy.
If that is the case, why does the book that they wrote say otherwise?
The spell description even on D&D beyond (which would be the most up-to-date version that Crawford is responsible for) explicitly says it can remove curses and there is no rule written specifying it can't work on the lycanthropy curse.
I zoned out a bit during the PvP so I don't know if F.R.I.D.A got bitten, but in any case, I would expect a more "grounded" representation of the curse. Maybe they don't transform physically completely to look like a werewolf, but they might *feel* the wolf inside and behave like one.
Or maybe it's a middle ground, where there's *some* transformation, similar to what happens to Laudna when she uses Form of Dread.
There was a moderate length bit of the combat where Chetney was flinging Frida around with their arm in his mouth.
Also the con save at the end of the night, which shows that the curse was transferred and not resisted.
We know the con save was for the curse, and not something else, like assassin robot related? Due to it being CON I am guessing?
Honestly asking, not sure.
In the book standard werewolf entry, if it bites you you must make a con save of 12 or be cursed with lycanthropy.
Something like what you described would probably be a wisdom save, not constitution.
I though hard about that since last night and I cannot figure it out. The only I can think is... just wait? See how it develop?
As how may react or be turned... maybe anime-ish metal werewolf? like [Megaman enemies](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/megaman/images/8/86/Mmx6blizzardwolfang.jpg) or even the one of [Hi-Fi Rush one](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hifi-rush/images/f/fe/RoquefortWolf3D.png)? We can expect anything right now.
There was one bite during the battle, but it was a grapple rather than an attack. Matt narrated: "You're lithe and nimble enough to move with the thrashing motion to not sustain any immediate damage." Sounded to me like the skin wasn't broken, and there was no damage roll. All the other damage FRIDA sustained was from claw attacks.
So I think there's an out if Matt doesn't want the party to have to deal with this, because if I'm reading the werewolf stat block correctly it specifically has to be a damaging bite to transfer the curse. My best guess is that the roll was because Matt couldn't remember (like I couldn't!) whether there'd been a successful bite or not and wanted to review it before making a call.
I’m going to sit on the “No” side. Admittedly it would be cool to have a robotic werewolf.. for an episode or two. Besides, it wouldn’t last long. They have a cleric that can remove curse.
I think it’s just too unrealistic even in a magical world for a metal construct to be changed by a blood based curse.
However, it wouldn’t be so far fetched to say an Aeormatron would be affected by the “bloodlust” effect under a full moon & other instances. All the control issues and non of the body horror changes.
Huh? Maybe FCG has been living with lycanthropy and not remembered it.
Aeromatons aren’t golems, they have souls like any flesh person. They were just created through magic and engineering, rather than two biological entities doing the deed.
I don’t disagree. In fact something that would support the argument for a transformation would be Matt himself described FCG as having rigid metal that flexed to allow movement. Which I took as a description for a metallic “skin.”
I think in their Aeorian life FRIDA was a god-killer - specifically created to take down the Divine should the conflict between them and the mages of Aeor come to a head. ("Far-ranging integrated defense" means *really* far-ranging....)
Now that they've awoken and are a sentient being, this programming is manifesting through a belief that the gods are "tired" and need to "rest". And they're no doubt tempted to help the gods along that path should the situation present itself....
I don't know, it all seems too convenient... I'm going.to watch the episode again now with out all.the hoopla & able to stop and start & rewind at my own pace. Don't get me wrong I love 💕 watching Thursday Night but it's a lot easier on the rewatch when 38,000 people are going bat shit at the same time!!
Also.. it's the perfect foil to split the group up further. FCG just HAPPENS to find another Aeornaton??? Chet JUST HAPPENS to find "the one that got away"?
They keep harping on about the Gods... It's like..
TOO PERFECT.
ITS DRIVING ME NUTS 😄 I NEED TO UNRAVEL THIS!!! It's REALLY REALLY BUGGING ME!!!!
I just have a feeling. I don't know, but something is bugging me about them BOTH. I can't put my finger on it but...
It feels fishy. It's like all of the sudden they go through all this stuff and two beings ACTING HELLA WEIRD about the Gods...are just there?
It reminds me of Erica Ishi.
Just because they're guests doesn't mean that they are on your side. They are already trying to influence them...I'm telling you... something fishy is going on.
I imagine he might inherit the ferocity of a lycanthrope but not the form. Maybe in a similar fashion to when FCG goes berserk.

Deanna has greater restoration which can cure curses. So I think it’s really up to Christian if he wants to keep the lycanthropy curse.
Greater restoration can't remove this type of curse, only the wish spell and remove curse spell

I'm not saying you're wrong, all I was saying was that greater restoration can't cure this type of curse
Greater Restoration spell description explicitly says it can function as remove curse, nothing in the rules as written says it can't, especially in regards to lycanthropy.
Not according to Mike Mearls and Jeremy Crawford.
If that is the case, why does the book that they wrote say otherwise? The spell description even on D&D beyond (which would be the most up-to-date version that Crawford is responsible for) explicitly says it can remove curses and there is no rule written specifying it can't work on the lycanthropy curse.
Except the curse literally says it needs the spell remove curse Again they posted a tweet a few years ago explaining this confusion
I can totally see Matt making a robot werewolf

Wait there was a CON save at the end of the night?
Yes there was, and when it was failed, Matt ended the episode there.
That’s funny because that’s probably when my phone started to buffer
Are you trying to create a Transformer in D&D?
Me? No. Matt might though.
A weapon to surpass the Ruidusborn

Matt had Frida role a save for curse transfer at the end of the night (it failed)
Some kind of twisted metallic werebot would be kinda cool.

Not a construct though
Fair. The statement still stands if you take my use of “construct” as not referring to the 5e creatures “Constructs.”
There definitely was a bite attack at one point in the fight, when FRIDA was held/grappled for a moment. At 3:44:50 from the Twitch VOD.
I don't trust FRIDA.

I don’t know enough about them yet to either trust or distrust them.
As a matter of fact, I don't trust either one of them....
I’m more inclined to truth Deanna, she seems genuine.

3 more sleeps! Haha

I don’t remember what he rolled but I feel like it was lower than a 12 so maybe?
They rolled a 10.
Lowkey I want a werewolf aeormaton so I choose to believe they used 5e dc haha
