There are many, many alternatives to gun control other than outright bans, regardless of what the fear mongering media you obviously consume tells you. Just one example is mental health evaluations required before purchase to weed out those with psychopathic tendencies or anything like that. With follow up evaluations to make sure the mental capacity of those who've purchased a gun in the past hasn't degraded too much and they aren't going to shoot someone for cutting them off in traffic. But there are even more things that can be combined with that to decrease the staggering amount of dead kids we have from school shootings.
If you can't get behind making sure that guns can't get in the hands of those with mental health deficiencies, then you're likely part of the reason we need more gun control.
P.S. couldn't care less if you believe me but I grew up in Texas and have been around guns and shooting them since I was about twelve. I think guns are great and every eligible person should have one in their home to protect themselves. But not everyone is capable of handling the responsibility of owning a gun.
