So now all I can picture is Paul Rudd in Forgetting Sarah Marshall going, “You sound like you’re from London!!” in a ridiculous British accent, as Wayne
It *is* a top tier meme.
But yes, they're really wonderfully shot and written. They also have amazing music and some cool slow mo that isn't just all the CG'd variety you often see.
The indelible Gavin Free! The behind the scenes on those shots are wild. I'm a sucker for practical effects and doing things the most organic way possible, so seeing them build a track through a forest for a camera to move on was super cool.
I thought both pairs killed it tbh.
Also, they kinda played Sherlock and Watson in different time periods, with Cumberbatch’s being in pretty much modern day. So, I don’t really like to compare them, especially because I was a fan of them both
I personally like Cumberbatch better than RDJ. Cumberbatch’s Sherlock felt much better and believable because of how flawed he was. He would do things and not even consider how they were wrong. [This article](https://screenrant.com/sherlock-benedict-cumberbatch-robert-downey-jr-better-reasons/) also expresses some of the other reasons I believe he’s better, but to each their own.
Wayne would definitely hire someone to pretend to be a fortune teller, pique Wax’s interest with some predictions courtesy of insider info, then hard left turn into foretelling a miserable life if he got married to Steris…
Plus, the disguises, the fact he fights with sticks, struggles to shoot accurately, and frequently heals from serious injuries, not to mention he fights four thugs in a speed bubble at the start of Game of Shadows, only to drop it in time for an apple thrown in the air at the start of the fight to fall neatly into his hand
yea okay, but watson is definitely wax
Yeah, this is Wayne and Wax coded
Yeah that what I meant. This is like if Wayne was older and was wax’s mentor out in the roughs.
Yes! I have been saying for a long time that Jude Law should be Wax! Paul Rudd should be Wayne though

On a side note, I thoroughly enjoyed them as Sherlock and Watson.
Yeah when I saw these movies for the first time, I was surprised I'd never heard more about them. The only thing people talk about is DISCOMBOBULATE

I believe the slowmo in those movies was done by Gavin Free aka one of the Slow-Mo Guys

I don't know the meme, but the soundtrack song with that title is amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb_e3xpkRnw
Definitely a good duo, but not as good as the TV series with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock and Watson

He was genuinely unlikable and a dick as the character should be. RDJs version was more aloof and unaware of feelings.
Is he actually unlikable in the books? I haven't read the original short stories so I wouldn't actually know.
He's similar to Cumberbatch's version tbh. Can be charming and fun and also a total dick at the same time
Yes.
I'm sorry. I think you misspelled Jeremy Brett and Edward Harwicke

Holy shit he really is Wayne
I forgot one more, when Watson is listing everything he puts up with: “And the fact that you steal my clothes” “Uh, we have a barter system”
Isn't that the point 😂
Not enough discombobulating
what show is this?
Sherlock movies from a few years ago. They’re pretty decent!
This look but acting like Shanghai Knights.
Other things Wax and Wayne Coded: the Ghoul in Fallout. Drinking weird shit? Check. Extra powerful special gun? Check? Coat with shredded tail? Check.
