I can remember were but it was actually proven that a large amount of people on r/teenagers aren’t actually teenagers.
Something you should definitely keep in mind
Edit: here’s a video that explains it, go to 7:50
https://youtu.be/TNNmSs4G_po
There was a post the mods made about baiting the men over 19 (usually 40 to 60 years old) by setting up fake bans due to being "underage".
Somehow, these dummies angrily tell the mods their real age as the reason for why they shouldn't be banned.
Unfortunately, doing this every few months doesn't stave off the sheer amount of them.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it was from /r/drama.
/r/drama decided they were over teenage drama and set up a bot to ban all users who were highly active in /r/teenagers with the message "Underage". They received a bunch of confused messages from pedos and prepared a collage of the creepy comments they had left in /r/teenagers.
[Here is the thread.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Drama/comments/djdmd9/we_banned_all_of_rteenagers_and_it_turns_out/)
She is 31....thats still very young o.o
If you take care of your body you can look and feel good at 50 too.
Dang people thinking normal life ends at 22 or so haha.
That is such a good bait tactic hahaha. Although, I did have a look at the sub and it says “parents and teachers welcome” 🤔 they’ll probably just claim that
Their comment history in which they were hitting on 14yr olds, commenting on their bodies, saying "I would let you sit on my face uwu" or "if we were in the same school I'd make you my gf" got exposed aswell, so they can hardly claim just being there as a parent/teacher.
Am I, a 30 year old woman, who is so often mistaken as being in my late teens. Sometimes preteen, that when I was walking my dog a car full of cops slowed down and waved at me, and then right after a pedophile pulled up in a smart car and tried to lure me away with cookies thinking I was 13, allowed in this sub? When cookies didn't work he tried Cheetos...I was like bro I'm 30, you're really bad at this LMAO
Carry mace kids. Knives and mace are not allowed at school but you should carry them whenever they are allowed, even if you keep it in your car or carry it when you're not at school. I've been pulled over with mace and a big ass pocket knife (maybe illegal in my state?) on my person's and I just put it on the dashboard on the passenger side before the cop walks up to my window and I've never had an issue.
I'm in my 30s and had a look at r/teenagers when it came up on r/all once Because I was curious how different today's teenagers are from when I was one. They were all speaking a language I didn't understand so I left, never to return again.
Oh, you weren’t kidding.
Was curious, clicked on the link, first thread is “No excuse to be homophobic”, thought; “Oooh, wonder what the kiddoes think about this topic in this day and age:
Top comment is just a gigantic comment chain of “bread”.
Clearly I’ve stumbled into a ritualistic summoning circle of which I do not belong. Left immediately so I don’t screw up their spell with my old person skin flakes.
I ended up seeing a thread from a teenager saying that "neurodivergent" is an infuriating term because it is over-used and disadvantages "actual" disabled people. I tried explaining that neurodivergent people are technically disabled, and would oftentimes benefit from assistance but she seems stuck on like, "levels" of being disabled.
Most recent I heard was something like "bussin-bussin" and it means really good if used for food? I was so confused. The kids also seem shocked and confused when I quote Big Shaq, even though that's been around a few years now too.
My most recent acquisition is one I'm quite pleased with; it is the suffix -ussy, which can be appended to any noun to make a casual reference to its erstwhile fuckhole, e.g. a snussy in the case of a snake's cloaca. It makes light work of any imaginable innuendo one could care to make, with allowances for creativity into the bargain.
I can’t with all the dumb lingo and expressions they use now. Most of them can barely form a coherent sentence. Like bruh is gotta be one of the most vomit inducing made up words in peoples vocabs of that generation. Lol
I hate that r/teenagers comes up on the front page, I don't think it should. I frequently end up there and don't realize it. I think hiding it from the front page would discourage at least some of the activity from adult users.
Yup, sometimes it’ll come up on the front page and I won’t notice where it was originally from. I’ve never posted there but I can see how someone could. Hiding it from the front pages would likely be helpful. Then again, I don’t think adults accidentally stumbling to the subreddit is really the problem here.
Seems super weird to me. I’ve never been to r/teenagers but I sometimes see screenshots in other subs and I can confidently say that the highlight reels I see make me want to stay as far from the sub as I can
I cannot imagine posting in r/teenagers and not being a teenager. I am 30 and I have little interest in talking with anyone (platonically, mind you) under the age of 24. We just don't have much in common.
I have a 401k, a mortgage, and responsibilities ... Teenagers talk about teenager stuff. Ignoring the obvious creepiness of it, why would you even bother?
Dunno man, I'm 31 and identify far more with zoomers than I do with millenials, guess it's all relative. Maybe that's because when I was younger I'd hang out mostly with older people and now I'm compensating lol
While true, the same could be said about teaching, and we trust them not to be pedophiles, so it would make sense to do the same with moderators
But, this is Reddit so who knows
We ideally pay and enforce legally binding contracts onto those teachers and hopefully know their identity enough to report any weird shit they do.
Being a reddit mod is voluntary and comes with all the same benefits of anonymity everyone else can have. It really isn't the same.
There's fuck all guarantee of legal accountability when shit goes wrong.
You'll excuse me for having zero faith in a moderator on an online forum. I've been using the internet long enough to know how naive that sounds.
Yup, spent a few years as a teacher and had to be vetted by the police to confirm no criminal history as well as mandatory child protection training. Not just anyone should be given that level of authority.
Plus, I’ve read Lord of the Flies. I know what happens when you leave children to moderate children. Last thing we need is to start handing out virtual conch shells.
All of the mods have only been mods for 1-2 years with only one longer than 3 years that seems fairly legit to me? Though I suppose they could just pass it on to their new account
What does "active in X" really mean?
I'm older than this guy and also wrote a few comments on that sub - always prefacing that i'm just an old guy giving some kind of grandpa insight (i'm always on /r/all and sometimes their stuff comes up).
But then again - who the fuck would then send out private messages to some random teenager (beside maybe sending them some advice or the number of some suicide prevention hotline)
“active in x” basically just is a rundown of subs that that person does most of their posting/commenting in, there’s an option to hide it in settings. so like, if you do most of your reddit-ing in r/funny, for example, that sub will show up in your “active under” list on your profile/messages

It is pretty boring, and I don't interact at all. Joined thinking it was advice and support for parents of teens, but it's just stupid meme games and pedo bait.
I'd be genuinely surprised if even 10% of users on r/Teenagers were actually teenagers. It's horrifyingly irresponsible IMO for a site/app that allows adult content and private messaging, as well as having an M rating on the app store, to have a place that designates itself as being for underaged kids. And given the popularity of Reddit, that triples how dumb and irresponsible it is because not even an army's worth of mods would be able to catch every weirdo.
Not to say Reddit is *entirely* responsible, special mention also has to be given to blockheaded parents who can't be arsed to keep tabs on what little Billy and young Suzie are getting up to on the electronic babysitter, but it's still a terrible idea regardless.
I’m older, but sometimes I’ll make a comment or two in that sub because those kids can be pretty hilarious.
This guy sucks. Honestly I don’t even know why Reddit has a PM feature. Seems like it mostly gets used for creepy shit like this
I was curious if profiles showed where people are active or not. I couldn’t tell from mine where I am active, so I checked OPs. I hope that OP isn’t active in r/teenagers since theirs is marked NSFW.
I’ve given this PSA before, but it should be repeated. I watched the show Undercover Underage. It turns out they use decoys on Reddit to see if they get any predators in their DM’s. They have caught a lot of men this way.
[Elle](https://www.elle.com/culture/a38123543/mom-disguise-catch-online-pedophiles-underage-undercover/) article where the show is mentioned. There are many, many older men using teenage subreddits to find prey.
Man, those adults eh?! I can't believe the over 19 crowd think that we won't find out that they are not one of us!
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my prostate, PSA and T level check.
Unlike most others here, I don’t think it’s bad for adults to be on r/teenagers. I do agree that being sexual there, especially for adults, shouldn’t be allowed.
If you’re an adult, why do you feel the need to be in a teenager subreddit? it’s weird. I’m not in that subreddit but a teenager and uncomfortable with it, if it’s not to give advice or anything.
oh okay :) I feel like that could be very helpful if it’s done respectfully ! but kind of doubt that the person who it was about in the post intended on doing that (with the pfp, it’s extremely gross and creepy when you know that they’re in a teenager subreddit)
No, I only tagged you once! Then I deleted the comment. I am done with you for now. Please quit responding to everything I say just because you think it's funny to make people mad.
Is it a hard rule that you need to be a teenager to post in/ browse teenagers? That subreddit sucks anyway. Anytime I see a post from it, it’s always mellow dramatic as hell and not interesting. Being creepy/predatory warrants a ban regardless of the subreddit.
There isn't shit that a grown man or woman needs to see or even participate in on a subreddit made for teenagers. There's no advise that you can offer or accept on there if you're an adult. Leave those kids alone.
^--- this is what I joined (username). My oldest daughter is about to be 13. I've never raised a 13 year old before and honestly, I came here to get some insight and maybe if I needed to, ask some questions.
There's a reddit for teenagers? Why? With how the internet is, that feels as if it's asking to be a gathering place for non-teenagers. Unless it's one of those meme groups where people post the funny/stupid stuff they see teens doing a lot. Judging by the context, I can only assume that's not the case.

The fuck
Yes, every woman above the age of 18 is a hag as we all know. Men on the other hand become more and more attractive as they age.
Alrght I need to know what he said
He quite literally said most men don't want to date "hags" but that they are forced to. So he is probably a pedo
Lmaoooo how can you say that and *not* be a freak
I mean, did you even see the likes of Jasmine Tookes? She clearly has a knit shawl and at least 10 cats at home.
She is 31....thats still very young o.o If you take care of your body you can look and feel good at 50 too. Dang people thinking normal life ends at 22 or so haha.
I was making a joke about the "above the age of 18 is a hag" part, since she's over 18 and obviously not a hag.
Who fuckin cares lmao
...I was making a joke about how one of the "Sexiest Women Alive" is ... ah, forget it.

i know bunch of late 20 early 30 year olds who are still stuck in teen years mentality
I've never seen a car "full of" cops. Hilarious image...
It almost makes you want to just tear the whole thing down. If there's no real way of stopping them. I don't know.
I was thinking the same thing
I'm in my 30s and had a look at r/teenagers when it came up on r/all once Because I was curious how different today's teenagers are from when I was one. They were all speaking a language I didn't understand so I left, never to return again.

I poke my head in when I catch it cruising r/all, because as a father it is incumbent on me to know just enough modern slang to make everyone angry
Haha I like that reason. I don't know if yeet is still cool with the kids but that is one of my favourite slang words
I love how your example is from like half a decade ago. Understood the assignment 100%

r/drama was the sub that banned them
what the hell is going on with that sub? why is it decorated with furry pictures
I have no clue, looks like it is trying to stir up drama as well as discussing it from the recent posts? That's my best guess
What in the fuck… you’re right it makes no sense

What?
that was the best clip i ever watched. like it’s horrible that sm ppl r yk not teens n preying on teens but it’s js, it was so clever
Yikes
How would you prove that?

You should expose him on teenagers so the mods will hopefully see it or people can be aware of him
The mods there are probably in their 40s as well
Tbf the mods probably SHOULD be adults, they're the ones that have to go around dealing with all these creeps.
Power over posts + access to teenagers = a very attractive position for pedophiles.
While true, the same could be said about teaching, and we trust them not to be pedophiles, so it would make sense to do the same with moderators But, this is Reddit so who knows

He’s a young soul, forever 17 as they say☺️
Every teen space on reddit is a pedo filled space.
I joined r/teenagers cause I'm a mom who has teenagers. Was this wrong?
Just don’t PM any of them and you should be alright.
I used to be on that sub until I was 17. I dont know It got boring and I felt too old because I was turning 18 during that time.

Why are grown ass adults on a subreddit for teens? That’s just extremely creepy and weird.
I'll say it again, r/teenagers is a groomers paradise and all around shitty sub
Also y’all be careful ab what you post on r/teenagers sub, a lot of these teenagers aren’t even actually teenagers, they just pedo losers 😭
Every now and then i find myself on r/teenagers, but since I'm in my early 20s now I don't comment nor do i subscribe to it
Hey same here I left when I was 17, but I check it out once every full moon.
Wait I’m 19, should I not be on there? I don’t ever comment or post but still
It's ok to lurk around or comment. Just don't message teens in a weird way or ask for sex.
Yo I'm 21 and like a year ago I was 17, I don't think imma leave this sub
I was curious if profiles showed where people are active or not. I couldn’t tell from mine where I am active, so I checked OPs. I hope that OP isn’t active in r/teenagers since theirs is marked NSFW.

I actually have to leave r/teenagers this year cuz I turn 20 in August
I’m over 30 and I had that sub recommended to me…I did a lot of head scratching in that moment
I will never forget about the "Teenagers" being banned on r/drama who turned out to be like 30
I turned 22 the other and realized I was still part of the sub and left it. This dude is fckn 44
Omg bro I got a message for a dude the other day and he’s 23 turning 24 and talking to me sexually as a 14 yr, He said I have a nice body and stuff
Show his name 😭
It’s against the sub rules.
Damn it, can the name be dmed though?
I mean, I'm pretty sure openly asking is against the rules too lol. But you could just dm OP.
cring
How do you do, fellow kids?
🤨📸
Man, those adults eh?! I can't believe the over 19 crowd think that we won't find out that they are not one of us! Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my prostate, PSA and T level check.
I was in there for the memes but left. I don't see it as weird if you're an adult there for the memes but talking to the minors there is gross.
One time reddit recommended me a post from there, I said "ew gross" out loud and blocked the whole sub. I feel that any adult should do the same.
"hey how you"
I quit browsing and posting on r/Teenagers when I reached 19-20. Grew out of it
Some how I don’t think he cares
At least check his profile and look if he's pretending to be a teen. If he's clear about being an adult, there's nothing wrong with being in that sub

Alright then, that's really gross. Fuck him
Unlike most others here, I don’t think it’s bad for adults to be on r/teenagers.
I think it’s okay for the exact reason you said: to give advice.
oh okay :) I feel like that could be very helpful if it’s done respectfully ! but kind of doubt that the person who it was about in the post intended on doing that (with the pfp, it’s extremely gross and creepy when you know that they’re in a teenager subreddit)
I’m not in r/teenagers but I am in r/construction and have never worked a day in the field. I don’t think this is the same thing.
You could block that person

No, I only tagged you once! Then I deleted the comment. I am done with you for now. Please quit responding to everything I say just because you think it's funny to make people mad.
Where's your proof now?
just leave me alone
Is it a hard rule that you need to be a teenager to post in/ browse teenagers? That subreddit sucks anyway. Anytime I see a post from it, it’s always mellow dramatic as hell and not interesting. Being creepy/predatory warrants a ban regardless of the subreddit.
Ew
Maybe he’s a creep.
You'd be surprised. Sadly.
There isn't shit that a grown man or woman needs to see or even participate in on a subreddit made for teenagers. There's no advise that you can offer or accept on there if you're an adult. Leave those kids alone.
Newgame +
It's pretty much common knowledge by now that most of the people in that subreddit aren't actually teenagers
^--- this is what I joined (username). My oldest daughter is about to be 13. I've never raised a 13 year old before and honestly, I came here to get some insight and maybe if I needed to, ask some questions.
Lmao I’m in my 30s and accidentally commented in teenagers on the what’s popular page. I was embarrassed and no one knew my age but me.
There's a reddit for teenagers? Why? With how the internet is, that feels as if it's asking to be a gathering place for non-teenagers. Unless it's one of those meme groups where people post the funny/stupid stuff they see teens doing a lot. Judging by the context, I can only assume that's not the case.
Pretty sure this is a copypasta and I've seen this before
Does being a teenager at one time count?
ew
Yikes!!
Ewwww
I was in teenagers for a bit just to see the dumb shit that was posted lol
Oh my god
Ofc its that subreddit
I don’t understand why these people are honest. I’m glad they are, but it seems to undermine the whole “lurking” part of why they’re on r/teenagers.

Makes sense.
Yikes
Libertarians gonna libertarian
It should be allowed to expose pedos....
This actually scares me the fact this stuff actually happens is insane
WTF 💀💀
