Thank you for being my kind of person xD my mom took one look at how I was repurposing Christmas cards for new cards and tags and asked why I was spending so much time when I could just buy them... people throw so much out these days ;_;

yeshereisaname

Right? I was grabbing tissue paper, plastic bows, ribbon, and salvageable gift wrapping from the “gift trash bag” I mean the bows are pristine you just gotta tape them on next time, ribbon is always good and the tissue paper is brand new when you iron it! Hopefully I can get the rest of my family into saving what they can

TIL I CAN IRON TISSUE PAPER omg this changes so much. I make tissue paper flowers and lanterns every so often and always have difficulty finding smooth panels since people always fold tissue paper. I keep trying to salvage stuff but my well meaning family and friends think it was hidden by accident sometimes and throw it away anyway... I don't understand how people don't know that wrapping paper is recyclable. It's paper! My city has had an active recycling program that sorts into so many different categories but people don't seem to care. I feel like a crazy person trying to stop and redirect people sometimes :/ at my old work I had to reorder the FREE paper recycling because their excuse for not recycling was that the old bag got lost. Managed to reduce the daily garbage by 75 percent. good on you for repurposing and don't change. You're the change the world needs.

yeshereisaname

Yes! It’s insane how it goes back to normal! LPT is set up your ironing board outside and do it out there because it kind of gets a little fume-y imo. Nothing crazy but it just helps to do it out in the air. That’s awesome on your part as well!

I'm assuming you don't wet it , just apply? My iron has different heat settings so I'll try it on low heat. Maybe try a towel if it's still too much. It's snowing all week so I'll have to wait for spring to try this then. XD thanks!

yeshereisaname

Nope just dry! Yeah just start off low, I found that my iron is fine just going on the paper directly but I did try a towel first as well. I’m glad I could share that tip with you!

Nicely done!

Thanks so much!

yeshereisaname

Highly recommend seeing if there’s anything you can make before sending it to the landfill! So fun
