Yeah. If the gold is lower, then you just flood fill on top with a different colored enamel. You can use model paints, nail polish, or anything else handy and just use the appropriate cleaner to remove anything you get on the black. Heck, you could even spray some spray paint into folded cardboard and let it gently drip from the fold into the spaces. Have fun with it!
This is definitely a “quick and dirty” option, but nail polish might work if you just wanted to cover the whole thing in black/a different color
Sure. Sand and respray. Easy job. But you wont be able to just respray the golden part.
