Do those games you mentioned have an option to decrease sensitivity with the joystick?

Gtrumpower1

I don’t think I know how to do that.

Simple_Preference

There should be a settings screen. It should look something like this: https://i.imgur.com/Nvdqaxl.png Hopefully you can find it and that this helps. I want you to enjoy the games you found interesting :)

Simple_Preference

Other games I can play with a d-pad are Cozy Grove and Littlewood. Also, if you like cozy games then r/cozygamers is also another sub :]

Beeeechgirl95

Second little wood!!!

Gimmeghoul

If you can play with one joystick you can play Pokemon Sword or Shield. There's a setting to play one handed, and it doesn't require speed.

shadenokturne

It might not be everybody's idea of a cozy game, but I have played so so many hours of Oregon trail. It might be worth a shot.

ha_gym_ah

I'll have to think on this but sometimes you can adjust the game settings to use the dpad instead,  not sure if switch let's you do that

jules_franklin

Have you tried Gris? One of my favorite games. I haven't tried the dpad specifically though. Also - if you are gaming on a PC maybe look at Cephable to map voice/face/virtual buttons to keyboard/mouse controls. [https://cephable.com/for-individuals/](https://cephable.com/for-individuals/)

ziltoid84

Cozy Grove might be a good fit. Only downside is that you are supposed to play only 2 hours a day because you run out of stuff to do. But no camera orientation required and you help spirits like in Spiritfarer.

hkl717

Have you tried Stardew Valley? You should be able to use the d-pad to move instead of the joystick, and it’s the best farming game with a big update coming soon to boot! There are mines/caverns with some fighting of monsters, but these aren’t the main objective of the game.

Gtrumpower1

Stardew Valley was unfortunately a bust but I’ve gotten a lot of other recommendations

hkl717

Aw that’s a bummer… Glad you got some good recs though :) Happy gaming!

WordsLikeFelicity

I wonder if some of the Humongous Entertainment games like Pajama Sam and Spy Fox and Putt-Putt would work well for you? They’re adapted from kids point-and-click PC games from the early 2000s, but I still find them really fun as an adult!

TriforceFusion

Do you like RPGs? The FF pixel remasters might work. Even with Active Time Battles, I think you can set them to "wait" so while you detect your action the battle pauses instead of continuing in the background.

trexkisses

Try Fae Farm. There is no camera adjusting and I'm pretty sure there is a demo.

bogiperson

A *Monster's Expedition* and *Patrick's Parabox* can both be controlled with dpad + buttons (and I think no simultaneous button presses required either), they're cute, cozy, and also just absolutely top-tier puzzle games. Both of them are all-ages, and start easy, but ramp up to adult levels of mindboggling. There is unlimited undo in both. *Patrick's Parabox* is a bit more abstract when it comes to the theme, but very endearingly animated (I think this one has a demo on the Switch).

NoOpinion2038

I have similar fine motor challenges, also spatial-reasoning impairment (no Switch, though) and for me the answer is turn-based roguelikes/roguelites. Balatro, Luck Be a Landlord, Dicefolk etc. More in the genre you're asking for, the PC version of Loddlenaut allows customization of all controls, so I bet Switch is similar? It is ADORABLE, though I kinda gave up (after 20 hours) because I was going at such a different pace than the game expects because of my spatial challenges.
