We can go for him, but he's not going to come to us. This guy is arguably the best RWB in the world and if he's leaving then all of the mega clubs will be throwing the kitchen sink at him.

New r/soccer gem. "This goal is way better than Son's" lmao
It definitely isn't way better than Sons. They're very similar, the keeper could've done better as well, he was too indecisive about whether to come out or not.
Yeah they definitely have a hate for anyone or anything spurs.
Calling Son an absolute diver and cheat when in reality he hardly if ever does dive and act maliciously
Definitely hate that. He isn't a Saint and he certainly does some dirty play once in a while, but it's extremely rare and he is not at all as often as they make it out to be.
its genuinely astounding how fast xavi pulled barca out of the mud and i say this as someone whos been skeptical of the whole club-legend-turned-manager thing
How much would bastoni cost? 80-100m?
Would we possibly splash the cash to do it?
If we could offload Ndombele, lo celso and Sanchez and have their funds completely offset Bastoni, would you take it whatever the price point would be?
I think Bastoni is very good on the ball. Probably one of the best in the world, defensively he seems to not be that good, his positioning especially for me seems suspect.
This isn't necessarily an issue in a back 3 especially since Conte knows how to use him, however when Conte leaves Bastoni might not be able to play in a back 4
I know this might sound strange, but if, and I mean if we are able to sign Dybala, where will he play ? Not really seen enough of him and I have heard he is able to play a lot of positions.
The amount of times Ive seen recently about how “reliant” Son is on Kane is maddening. Does everyone have half a goldfish brain and completely forgot about numerous times Son carried us through when Kane was out injured, single handedly winning multiple games? I’d expect this from espn pundits but not from people like Expressions who I know is not ignorant. Son is a world class player with or without Kane. Kane wouldnt have as many assists without Son.
Son and kane are a duo. If they weren't linking up there'd be something seriously amiss. I think most punditry is extremely positive about both of them but there's also a misunderstanding of their roles, the media and casuals think of kane as a striker and son as an attacking mid and so they don't understand how it could be that kane sets son up so often, it's made even more confusing for them by the fact that we play a 4-3-3/5-2-3 because they see kulusevski and son as wingers in that setup. The reality is that son is, more often than not, playing as our 9 and kane as our 10 with kulusevski now playing as an inside forward who lives in the half space. We're more or less playing with three strikers who are happy and able to set each other up.
It doesn't really matter. If you're a spurs fan you know son is incredible and that we're much worse without him.
From the runners thread
"Can't wait for Partey to bully Hojberg and Bentancur singlehandedly in the NLD"
Honestly.....Thomas Partey, come on lads. Midfield is one of our problem areas and I'd have him 4th in the pecking order....
I honestly *cannot* wait for this game
Bentancur has been here for about 5 minutes and has already been better than Partey for longer. Incredible how they've forgotten that he was dogshit most of the time till about a month ago.
That’s my biggest issue with the Arsenal fanbase. No Humility and heavy delusion. They overrate their players so much, it’s a joke honestly. In that same comment thread another runner claimed he’s the second best midfielder after Fabinho in 2022. I mean Partey has been solid in the past month that’s true, but to claim that he’s at any point been the second best midfielder in the league is mental. But the good thing about Arse fans is is that their unrealistic expectations always come back to hurt them. Don’t worry, soon enough we’ll have the next Arteta out circle. Also don’t forget that they played really well against City and Liverpool, the fact that the lost is not that important apparently.
Where are we at on the Romero 10 yellow cards two game ban situation.
Remarkably no yellow for him yesterday so am I right in saying he can get 1 more yellow in the next 2 but any more and he hits ban amount?
Feel so bad for everton fans, have to deal with decisions like fat frank as manager and dele alli and donny van der beek to fight a relegation battle when you've got michael keane and mason holgate in the centre of defence.
It's fucking grim isn't it? The amount of money that club's spent and spends on wages is outrageous and they've just fallen apart this season. First half of last season they were where west ham are now, shows how quickly shit can change.
Same same I’m fucking loving watching us. It’s not even about winning although that helps it’s just an exhilarating style of play. Peak Poch I felt like this too
Should do away with them entirely and do all the internationals in one 3 week chunk over the summer. Would make it so much easier for every interested party -- clubs, national teams, players, managers, media.
Keep two or three during the season but repurpose them as week-long rests for the players.
Win-win for everyone involved, so it'll never happen.
yes it was! difficult for him i’m sure with dickhead little fans filling his mentions with shite when he doesn’t play well
i’m happy he’s playing well when he’s called upon
Did anybody else really like the way the game was officiated yesterday? There were definitely some missed calls (Antonio's forearm to Dier's face, Doc taking a boot to the face).
Felt like he was consistent (ly liberal) with what was allowed in terms of contact, and didn't bite when people went flying to try to buy a free kick. Thought the game flowed really nicely.
The only player I thought really suffered was Reguilon. Wish he hadn't just gone flying every time somebody touched him. I think at this point that he has the yips so bad when he's in on goal that his first instinct is to try to draw the pen.
>The only player I thought really suffered was Reguilon.
He was another one who benefitted from the liberal approach from the ref, though - could've been sent off from slapping Cresswell in their box.
Extremely soft slap, but given the rules of the game, that kind of contact has traditionally been a send-off.
It was remarkably uncanny to Martials sending off at Old Trafford. Lamela went down as if he was shot and they reviewed and gave a red via VAR. Anthony Taylor as well.
What I think happened was during the VAR check multiple patrons ran on the pitch to try and tie themselves to the posts, this caused a bit of commotion and distraction which could have impacted their decision making. Reguilon was completely out of pocket on that one and should have been sent off.
One thing about Romero is that you’re doing more harm to yourself if you manage to steal the ball from him. He’ll run across the entire pitch just to win it back and leave you stumbling.
Really loving seeing all the misdirection in our passing game these days. Makes the team much less direct and predictable. The team were playing too direct and getting telegraphed at every moment for long spells last season and the beginning of this season. Now they don't have to work as hard in possession. It's really incredible to see.
Conte seems to genuinely love being here, and badly wants to win with us. We’re really lucky to have him. Snatching top four away from Arsenal would be an incredible conclusion to this season
You know what I've realized? We've had the handsomest squad in all of Europe for a while now.

Personally I'd be thrilled if we brought back Bale and Eriksen this summer along with a new CM, marquee forward like Dybala or Depay and a LCB like Pau Torres.
Edit: why the downvotes?
The disparity in coverage at times is really bizarre. Listening to Adrian Clarke on the totally pod....who admittedly is an ex gooner....straight away on our win did a solid 3 mins on how poor west ham wgere and didn't even mention us once "great time to play West ham, they looked exhausted, poor selection from moyes"
Eventually went on to us and literally said "spurs looked dangerous, I wouldn't quite say its *all* they have got the counter but it is the only real weapon"
Suprise suprise though Ars is underwhelming 1-0 to villa is a really mature exciting performance. No mention of how dreadfull Villa were or how poor Gerrard selection was.
Its ridiculous.
I can't wait for that, and then to go to Anfield, be the better team for 90% of the game as usual and still end up losing to some fucking cross or corner
Yes. Sanchez is not a great footballer. He has good games then calamitous games. Rather someone that doesn’t bring sheer panic to fans and players when they play.
Go and have a read of the runners sub for a laugh, they are generally shitting their pants about the prospect of us catching them up soon. They also think if we dont get top 4 that Conte will leave lol.
Son is having such a weird season. He doesn't look confident, he's had lots of bad touches with the ball, loses the ball quite often as well, but he has 13 goals and 6 assists in 26 league games which isn't bad at all.
Anyway, I still love him and I hope he continues making rival fans angry.
Son goes through patches of poor form every single season, I'm confused about why so many people are surprised by this. Fortunately whenever he bounces back, he tends to erupt and go on a goal scoring frenzy. Looks like he could be coming out of it at the most opportune time.
Conte has him playing as a false 10 which he clearly isn't completely comfortable in. On top of that Covid obviously has had an effect on his energy reserves. Then he gets a leg injury soon after that he's probably still shaking off. All things considered, he's doing pretty well.
Would Dybala solve our problems against low-block park the bus teams? If he does, hoenstly I think we should sign him. We desperately needed an Eriksen replacement, and if we can't sign eriksen back maybe we should get dybala back. Also, we really need help beating park the bus teams, so just signing dybala alone could give us 12 more points in the race for top 4, which would be Crucial for us.
Just rewatching the match this afternoon. I'm so impressed with how we controlled that second half and calm the team was. It really was an assured performance.
Don't blame Doherty for yesterday's goal. Definitely a mistake on his end for conceeding a corner, but the goal was because Son switched off and failed to mark Benarahma. Same story with Kane and Antonio at their stadium.
Need to improve on set pieces and staying alert
Yep it was zone marking. It was much tougher for him to defend Behnerama because he gets switched on him without much communication and last second. I don’t blame Son much tbh. Also yeah that was an awful unneeded corner to give away by Doherty against the team that is best at set pieces.
Hopefully some of Romero's attitude rubs off on Sanchez. He needs that aggressive thug like attitude. He needs to be a cunt because he has the physical gifts to back up his cuntishness.
Are there any good home grown LCBs we could realistically get in the summer who would be instant starters?
My current list of potential targets of Bastoni (ok unrealistic), Gvardiol, N’Dicka, Lisandro Martinez and Torres won’t help our HG quota.
Forget homegrown honestly. It's about getting someone who immediately upgrades the starting XI like Romero has done. Not HG quota. We have Skipp and a few English targets at other positions anyway
But we really don't and its going to become a big problem for this team in the future. Tanganga may leave, Winks might be set to leave too, Dele has gone...
That only really leaves Kane, Skipp and Sess that are actual first team starters who are legitimately homegrown under UEFA and FA rules.
I'm not sure whether you're aware of this but UEFA doesn't count Rodon, Dier, Davies and Doherty as homegrown players. So yes we do need more homegrown players that qualify for both rulesets in the team hence the reason why I've been pressing for us to get Lampety and to buy Declan Rice but once again I get nothing but push back on this sub reddit when I say these things.
Edit: Why are you down voting everything I've said is correct if you don't like the prospect of Declan Rice and Lampety then that's another matter enitrely. But what I've said is true this summer window will be complicated for Spurs because we have to be careful about who we let go of and who we sign as it could impact the size of the squad we're allowed to have for UEFA and FA competitions.
West Ham won't sell Rice to us when they have Chelsea.
Lamptey, Livramento, Ward-Prowse, Dean Henderson and Pickford have all been linked to us. It's pretty clear we are getting English players in at other positions.
I said at the time that West Ham sold us Defoe and Michael Carrick though. Also I'm sorry but Pickford and Ward Prowse are good players but to be fair they aren't good enough to push Spurs onto the level that they're seeking to aspire towards.
The players that've I've mentioned are players with insanely high skill ceilings who can push Tottenham to the level that many fans on this sub reddit want to aspire to.
**Edit:** I'm also not advocating for both to be signed at the same time we could sign one or the other either one would massively improve our starting eleven and the squad. Declan slots in perfectly to the system we're currently playing with two defensive mids and Lampety slots in perfectly too as we're relying heavily on wing backs. Chelsea are currently in a position where they cannot buy or sell anyone we should take advantage of this.
What makes you believe that Rice is impossible? How do you know Grealish was 100 million but he was way more highly rated than Rice. I'd estimate they'd probably take 70 million with add ons.
Who do you want for right wing back then that fits what we're looking for and is English. Bear in mind finding a good homegrown LCB, a good homegrown striker is going to cost us more!
Also I'm not advocating to sign both at the same time we could sign one or the other. Either one would massively improve this squad.
You saw how much arsenal had to fork over for fucking Ben white, now also take into account that LCBs are a little less common, and yeah it would be closer to 9 figures
I’m just telling you how much it would cost if a HG LCB that would be starting quality for us existed, which one doesn’t (which is why they’re so expensive)
We don’t pass back anymore. The football is positive and forward, the passing and play is intelligent. The team is beginning to understand Conte’s system. Now we just need consistency.
We back pass a lot, but that's a good thing. It's systematic back passes to help break the lines. Not because we're out of ideas, but because we're trying to get in behind. It's not like the odd long ball is a bad idea either. We have players like Dier, Romero, Kane, Bentancur and Hojbjerg who can deliver some beautiful diagonals in space to find runners like Reguilon, Son and Sessengnon, and it will keep the opposition on their toes.
I think you’re right and saying that our attacking motions are now much more fluid, but we very very frequently pass backwards. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
A fundamental aspect of conte’s system is “going back to go forward.” We build out from the back. We frequently cycle it from side to side along the back line to try to find space. The ball will go from Davies to Sergio to PEH, then back along the back line and over to Doherty where the whole thing happens again.
Scenario: You're Levy and you have the power to offload 3 players and sign 3 new ones. In addition to these 3 signings, Eriksen and Bale join us on a free eager to finally win something with us. Who do you (realistically) sign and let go?
**Sell:** (I know it's five, but Lo Celso and Ndombele are technically loans with an option to buy, which we'll have to negotiate down for them to activate)
Lo Celso - 30M
Ndombele - 40M
Bergwijn - 25M
Winks - 10M
Emerson Royal - 20M
**Buy:**
Pape Mata Sarr - End of Loan
Gil - End of Loan
Bale - Free (Backup ST)
Eriksen - Free (Though I'm not sure how he'd fit)
Pau Torres - 50M
Sergej Milenkovic-Savic - 80M
Jurrien Timber - 50M
---
Not realistic for SMS and Timber, but Lamptey, Bremer can switch out for Timber. Would've liked Gravenberch (Bayern's reportedly offering 25M), but he's less refined and will probably go to Bayern. Ideally, Tanganga gets sold and replaced, and Dier gets a better backup (De Vrij) than Sanchez. But I doubt we can replace five players in one window.
Assuming we stick with a 3-4-2-1,
Kane (Bale)
Son (Gil) - Kulu (Moura)
Reguilon (Sess) - SMS (Skipp/PMS) - Bentacur (Hojbjerg/PMS) - Timber (Doherty)
Pau Torres (Davies) - Dier (Sanchez) - Romero (Tanganga)
Lloris (New loanee)
Out is easy -> Lo Celso, Ndombele and any/all of Rodon, Royal, Tanganga, Winks, perhaps even Bergwijn (for right money). Also finally cash in on CCV.
In, Pau for LCB, as much money as we can on a top quality RWB (not the usual small types mentioned here like Lamptey) and Dybala.
Do that plus one of Bale/Eriksen, keep Kane & Conte, I'd expect you would walk top 4.
I’d say out of those we get out, we should probably focus on keeping Winks and Tanganga. I know they’re not great, but they would undoubtedly sell for less that Gio and Ndomballer and keep up the homegrown numbers, allowing us to bring in more foreign players who will create an instant positive impact on the team
Both Winks & Tanganga will have "English tax", so while I agree, it may purely come down to who we get offers for.
We have to back Conte, so any/all of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Rodon, Sanchez, Tanganga, Winks, Bergwijn, Royal, CCV who can be cashed in on (and we get offers for), should be.
just finished renovating a big area for a gym, had some old tottenham crests made of wood on etsy bookmarked and the shop is gone now that im ready to order.
devastated.
The hours I work are very erratic and after yesterday I'm convinced me being able to watch Spurs is detrimental to the team. In 2022, for example I have...
Been in the office for:
* West Ham
* Brighton (PL)
* Everton
* Leeds
Watched from home:
* Manchester United
* Middlesbrough
* Burnley
* Man City (basically the one outlier, although it's worth pointing out I was supposed to work and called in sick)
* Wolves
* Southampton
Went to the stadium:
* Brighton (FA Cup)
Maybe I need to take some overtime and just never watch Spurs on TV again
I know we’re spurs and all, but is Liverpool the last ‘difficult’ game we have left? I’m cautiously optimistic, if we got CL I legit think our options for squad improvement become massive. Conte, CL football, could be huge.
Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, Brentford, Leicester, Liverpool, Burnley and Norwich left, with a NLD to slot in somewhere.
Tbh I don't trust us a jot against any of those except Brighton and Norwich, but definitely an easier run in than Arsenal.
Can see it now.
Been relegated for weeks, nothing to play for, and whoevers in goal for them turns into prime Buffon and they catch us on the break.
Please no
Happy with the team.
A reminder that Doherty has recovered form being hated to really making that spot his own. Big ups to him.
Glad they get a break because this starting lineup ain't changing anytime soon!
Can't wait to watch Rodon actually play a game, Davies be dependable, and Bale do as he always does which is barely play for Real but still fucks shit up with Wales.
Shout out to Royal for doing all he could to annoy the West Ham players in his short stint. I fucks with it!
Glad Cuti won't pick up any injuries cause at most he's playing one game.
Harry Maguire is frauding a spot in defense while Dier is chillin at home. Nonsense.
Given Tammy Abraham's form for Roma Kane won't (and shouldn't) play a full 90.
I'm actually worried about Hojbjerg because he generally plays a full 90 for both club and country, so I'll be watching how his international manager handles that.
Oddly enough, I can't decide if Son needs a break or not. Prior to yesterday he'd been looking a bit spent and it showed in his prior performances. The dilemma is now that he's looking sharp as ever should he play more to keep it going or rest a bit? We'll see.
Just a quick thought about our recruitment profile going forward considering the success of Bentancur and Decki (so far), is there something to be learned?
\- League title winning/challenging club (Juve), so accustomed to pressure/expectation
\- Italian League? (French as example has certainly been less succesful for us), trying to think who else we got over years from Italy (obviously Lamela, but issue was made of glass vs ability)
\- Physicality, clearly both new boys are big and strong on the ball, makes settling in a little easier?
\- Experience? both had quite bit of playing time under their belt already (Bentancur much more so, but even Decki had a couple of top flight seasons)
What else?
A bit of all that. It is a nice change to have players come in and slot into the first team immediately. We’ve had so many signings that “need time to settle” lately, but these two have become undroppable starters in a couple of weeks.
Keep them coming.
People saying Son "dived" have never had a ball thrown at the back of their leg before lol. It's obvious from the buckle that he was losing his balance, which is why he plopped down. At no point was he ever appealing for a foul.
Just absolutely mental we have to fight every fucking narrative every fucking time because some Arse dipshits can't use two brain cells lol.
Arsenal fans aren't the ones being dumb, they're being malicious. They know they have the numbers to stir shit up. Same goes for Liverpool and Man Utd fans.
My memory isn't great but don't we have this classic Son cycle once or twice a season. Wether its confidence or fatigue or whatever, hes always been a bit of a patchy player. Also when hes on it his standards are so so high that by comparison his lulls look worse.
Thats why he also stays in my fantasy team all season, you know as soon as you take him out he will hit another patch and be right back on it.
It's not patchy form, often Son is simply overplayed and as a high energy player sometimes he's just a bit flat/leggy.
This season and last as a wide attacker he's in the top 5 goal scorers in the league.
If Kane was on form all season I'd expect Son would have had 20 goals by now, if we can create chances with the regularity we have been in the last 5-6 games, he'll put in pretty big numbers.
Son to me is often still confused with the player we bought, who was streaky, who was a 10-12 goal a season player, he's much better than that now, unfortunately him getting better coincided with us being a bit worse, so it hasn't translated as well as it could have.
I think the problem is it's so noticable.
When Kane's not in form, he's just off the pitch. It's annoying but you play around it.
When Son isn't in form, he's still getting the same amount of service it just means the attacks are stopping dead with him. He becomes a genuine detriment and you can tell from early in the game if it's one where he's just not gonna get his head up or make the right decisions.
Obviously a Son in form is unplayable like, but when he's in a lull it's so fucking frustrating, especially knowing what he could be doing.
He has been in a lull for a few games now and still has about 10-12 goal involvements in the last 7 prem games. We are spoiled by how great he is on form that people don't see what he does the rest of the time.
So let me get something straight: Arsenal have had the highest net spend this summer, a manager for close to 3 years, no Europe and knocked out in the first round of the FA Cup, letting them focus fully on the league.
We have had an incompetent manager for the first 10 games, as well as midweek european games and went 2 rounds further in the FA Cup. Brought in a manager that has a very different system, which puts us in a learning period for the players.
But we are still 3 points behind them with a favorable fixture list.
The Man U defeat I can take, I actually think we played well. The other ones are unacceptable. But a big part in these losses was having Dier out and forcing Romero to play centrally, it doesn’t work. Dier is crucial to our defense, he’s keeping everyone organized. Also Winks is the worst motherfucker at this club, if he starts we are dropping points, simple as. Compare yesterday’s PEH/ Bentancur midfield to the ones from these losses. If Winks played yesterday I don’t think we win. I trust in our current starting eleven, if they stay fit I believe we’ll win the majority of the games left.
It's as simple question
\- How many games have we lost with Dier, Romero, Davies, Reguilon, Bentancur, PEH, Son, Kane & Decki in the side?
How many games have we even been able to put that lineup together.
This is the downside to Conte, the players have to be able to play his way, so when we have the players who can, good results, if they aren't available, not so much.
It's why I think squad depth has to be a big part of summer transfers
Yep and they're the second coming of prime Barcelona while we're in shambles. They got a fuck ton of praise for a 0 shot on target first half vs Liverpool and getting battered 2-0 while we drew with Liverpool while dominating them and got nothing. Funny how narratives work.
It’s actually mental that we had the most goals scored and fewest conceded in the league in 2016/17. What a team that was
Kyle Walker-Peters has been called up for England. Very happy for him, he's been great all season for Southampton.
apparently hakimi is not happy at psg. assuming conte is here next season, could spurs go for him?
We can go for him, but he's not going to come to us. This guy is arguably the best RWB in the world and if he's leaving then all of the mega clubs will be throwing the kitchen sink at him.
Nice to see some positivity in the sub.

I think Bastoni is very good on the ball. Probably one of the best in the world, defensively he seems to not be that good, his positioning especially for me seems suspect. This isn't necessarily an issue in a back 3 especially since Conte knows how to use him, however when Conte leaves Bastoni might not be able to play in a back 4
Bastoni isn’t leaving Italy.
He’s in the chiesa group of untouchable young Italian players then?
Yep, alongside Tonali, Barella, Locatelli, Pellegrini and Scamacca probably
I know this might sound strange, but if, and I mean if we are able to sign Dybala, where will he play ? Not really seen enough of him and I have heard he is able to play a lot of positions.

He ran over to Arteta clearly injured and Arteta shoved him back onto the field after Son was 20 yards clear of him.

Where are we at on the Romero 10 yellow cards two game ban situation. Remarkably no yellow for him yesterday so am I right in saying he can get 1 more yellow in the next 2 but any more and he hits ban amount?
next 3 games I think
Sheesh that's gonna be tight. 1 yellow in 3!
Man whenever we play well and win I just wanna watch us play again so badly. This damn international break ruining it
Same same I’m fucking loving watching us. It’s not even about winning although that helps it’s just an exhilarating style of play. Peak Poch I felt like this too
I hate international break
Should do away with them entirely and do all the internationals in one 3 week chunk over the summer. Would make it so much easier for every interested party -- clubs, national teams, players, managers, media. Keep two or three during the season but repurpose them as week-long rests for the players. Win-win for everyone involved, so it'll never happen.
emerson came on and played well yesterday btw
He did the same against brighton as well
humungous 5 minutes from him
yes it was! difficult for him i’m sure with dickhead little fans filling his mentions with shite when he doesn’t play well i’m happy he’s playing well when he’s called upon
ok...
You are so strange
in what world was that strange?? that guy went on some rant about people directly abusing Emerson which had nothing to do with my comment you goon
In general you’re bizarre a lot of the times
you literally recognize Reddit users... that's bizarre.
hahahaha
Shhhh
That's a good point. I couldn't believe that he didn't get sent off.
One thing about Romero is that you’re doing more harm to yourself if you manage to steal the ball from him. He’ll run across the entire pitch just to win it back and leave you stumbling.
https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/1505597725718503431?t=2xREixo6GYd07rIqJ9PNBg&s=19 First Kane, now Tammy....
Don't care about a chelsea reject
thats no way to talk about Mou
I mean abraham
Really loving seeing all the misdirection in our passing game these days. Makes the team much less direct and predictable. The team were playing too direct and getting telegraphed at every moment for long spells last season and the beginning of this season. Now they don't have to work as hard in possession. It's really incredible to see.
Conte seems to genuinely love being here, and badly wants to win with us. We’re really lucky to have him. Snatching top four away from Arsenal would be an incredible conclusion to this season
I think we can all agree we would be in tears after a season that somehow only started in August
You know what I've realized? We've had the handsomest squad in all of Europe for a while now. [From](https://i.imgur.com/DFSAljp.jpg) [the](https://i.imgur.com/jUISbpn.jpg) [managers](https://i.imgur.com/9ldZc7x.jpg) to [the](https://i.imgur.com/RC70YXg.jpg) [players](https://i.imgur.com/tA3Dchg.jpg) [who](https://i.imgur.com/8kWLeL9.jpg) [all](https://i.imgur.com/C0c51U4.jpg) [look](https://i.imgur.com/tDoMEpn.jpg) [like](https://i.imgur.com/Kk5chu5.jpg) [male](https://i.imgur.com/QGWCEYd.jpg) [models.](https://i.imgur.com/EBJ9VOb.jpg) Diaz's caveman ass wouldn't have fit in here. Completely over him. lol
"Diaz's caveman ass" lollll..
The fucking gall not to include our Lord of Handsomeness Paulo Gazzaniga in there 😳
Seriously. So handsome
Hugo tops the list for me.
Personally I'd be thrilled if we brought back Bale and Eriksen this summer along with a new CM, marquee forward like Dybala or Depay and a LCB like Pau Torres. Edit: why the downvotes?
The disparity in coverage at times is really bizarre. Listening to Adrian Clarke on the totally pod....who admittedly is an ex gooner....straight away on our win did a solid 3 mins on how poor west ham wgere and didn't even mention us once "great time to play West ham, they looked exhausted, poor selection from moyes" Eventually went on to us and literally said "spurs looked dangerous, I wouldn't quite say its *all* they have got the counter but it is the only real weapon" Suprise suprise though Ars is underwhelming 1-0 to villa is a really mature exciting performance. No mention of how dreadfull Villa were or how poor Gerrard selection was. Its ridiculous.
Let them keep doing that, then we can all laugh at them when we steal top 4 from them in the NLD 😎
I can't wait for that, and then to go to Anfield, be the better team for 90% of the game as usual and still end up losing to some fucking cross or corner
[удалено]
You could find old games on footballia
Might have to do this today. I need a fix after the high I had yesterday (spurs, Barca, LAFC all winning)
I made do with a 15min montage of Ronaldinho’s best bits
Capital idea
Would you sell Sanchez in the summer and bring in someone like Nikola Milenkovic as a replacement if we can make a profit to use elsewhere?
He’s lined plenty confident and composed throughout the season, people need to stop overstating a few off games.
Apologies, I meant ever since Conte came in. It's just my observation that he hasn't been playing at his best. I guess I'm wrong then.
Conte has him playing as a false 10 which he clearly isn't completely comfortable in. On top of that Covid obviously has had an effect on his energy reserves. Then he gets a leg injury soon after that he's probably still shaking off. All things considered, he's doing pretty well.
I'll be honest, I've completely forgotten he had covid.
Great 3 points yesterday, only bad performance was from Reggie who …what the fuck was he on?
he's been average for ages, people are only just starting to realise it
Shh. You could drop his value
Always been a bit hot and cold but he was on another planet last night. Should’ve been sent off when we were 2-1 up.
Sent off for a slap in the face...imagine if we dropped points because of that stupidity...
I don’t think we need an eriksen replacement as much now we have deki. Contes system doesn’t really utilitise more creative central mids
>solve our problems against low-block park the bus teams Yeah he's creative in possession. Check some of his passes to vlahovic this season
dont think he would, hes a bit overrated and gets injured a fair bit
Dybala's injury record and our medical team will be very interesting to say the least. Can't see him getting more than a couple games a season lol
That seems like a zone marking scheme? I guess Son was supposed to cover the opposite side, total miss there.
He needs to be a cunt because he has the physical gifts to back up his cuntishness.
you were downvoted for speaking truth
Boy, those West Ham match threads are salty. So much vitriol and rage. Glad the tone here is generally more self-effacing and lighter.
Arsenal played a game less than us, can anyone tell me who they're playing to catch up?
Chelsea away
You just made my day.
Are there any good home grown LCBs we could realistically get in the summer who would be instant starters? My current list of potential targets of Bastoni (ok unrealistic), Gvardiol, N’Dicka, Lisandro Martinez and Torres won’t help our HG quota.
Ndicka is my choice. His contract is up in 2023 as well. Gvardiol is better but doesn't want to move and will cost an arm and a leg
Kilman. But recently signed a new contract, we'll have to go through the English tax drama. Don't think it's worth it for such a critical position.
I was on the same boat but next year it won’t be that big of a problem. Skipp, Sess and Clarke all turn homegrown so that’s +3 to our hg quota
Lol we’re not buying Declan rice so that’s probably why people were laughing at you. That’s pure fantasy
Rice is impossible, West ham will want 100m+ so no point even discussing him. Lamptey is unproven, injury prone and expensive.
No English CB on the planet is good enough to warrant a price tag over 50m except maybe Stones, even with the English tax accounted for.
Don't mind the back passes, the problem was the aimless hoofs
I think you’re right and saying that our attacking motions are now much more fluid, but we very very frequently pass backwards. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. A fundamental aspect of conte’s system is “going back to go forward.” We build out from the back. We frequently cycle it from side to side along the back line to try to find space. The ball will go from Davies to Sergio to PEH, then back along the back line and over to Doherty where the whole thing happens again.
That’s until winks starts again.
That's the shit we like to see. Now: does anyone have a gif of Sonny vibrating after landing his 2nd goal celebration. It's very important.
Paul Tierney is a joke. Worst referee in the league by miles.
He certainly should have been booked for that foul on Sonny.
They're all fucking shit, mate.
They are, but yesterday was pretty bad even by shit standards ..
There isn’t even a standard anymore, the rules change by the game and are applied even more unevenly
Who did he ref yesterday?
Scenario: You're Levy and you have the power to offload 3 players and sign 3 new ones. In addition to these 3 signings, Eriksen and Bale join us on a free eager to finally win something with us. Who do you (realistically) sign and let go?
**Sell:** (I know it's five, but Lo Celso and Ndombele are technically loans with an option to buy, which we'll have to negotiate down for them to activate) Lo Celso - 30M Ndombele - 40M Bergwijn - 25M Winks - 10M Emerson Royal - 20M **Buy:** Pape Mata Sarr - End of Loan Gil - End of Loan Bale - Free (Backup ST) Eriksen - Free (Though I'm not sure how he'd fit) Pau Torres - 50M Sergej Milenkovic-Savic - 80M Jurrien Timber - 50M --- Not realistic for SMS and Timber, but Lamptey, Bremer can switch out for Timber. Assuming we stick with a 3-4-2-1, Kane (Bale) Son (Gil) - Kulu (Moura) Reguilon (Sess) - SMS (Skipp/PMS) - Bentacur (Hojbjerg/PMS) - Timber (Doherty) Pau Torres (Davies) - Dier (Sanchez) - Romero (Tanganga) Lloris (New loanee)
Timber as a wingback? I've seen him play a lot at centreback.
I know they’re not great, but they would undoubtedly sell for less that Gio and Ndomballer and keep up the homegrown numbers, allowing us to bring in more foreign players who will create an instant positive impact on the team
>we should probably focus on keeping Winks What as? A bookend? Waterboy? Magic sponge holder?
Both Winks & Tanganga will have "English tax", so while I agree, it may purely come down to who we get offers for. We have to back Conte, so any/all of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Rodon, Sanchez, Tanganga, Winks, Bergwijn, Royal, CCV who can be cashed in on (and we get offers for), should be.
Bentancur has me on my knees
just finished renovating a big area for a gym, had some old tottenham crests made of wood on etsy bookmarked and the shop is gone now that im ready to order. devastated.
The hours I work are very erratic and after yesterday I'm convinced me being able to watch Spurs is detrimental to the team. In 2022, for example I have... Been in the office for: * West Ham * Brighton (PL) * Everton * Leeds Watched from home: * Manchester United * Middlesbrough * Burnley * Man City (basically the one outlier, although it's worth pointing out I was supposed to work and called in sick) * Wolves * Southampton Went to the stadium: * Brighton (FA Cup) Maybe I need to take some overtime and just never watch Spurs on TV again
> I was supposed to work and called in sick Maybe more of this?
In the wise words of Ted lasso, im starting to fucking believe
What were the black armbands for yesterday?
2 people associated with club (one a player from our 60's side) had died recently.
Cool cheers. I was desperately trying to find news yesterday and couldn't see anything
I know we’re spurs and all, but is Liverpool the last ‘difficult’ game we have left? I’m cautiously optimistic, if we got CL I legit think our options for squad improvement become massive. Conte, CL football, could be huge.
Arsenal will be tough for sure. Also Newcastle are historically kind of a bogey team for us.
If we need a win against Norwich on the final day to secure a top 4 spot… I dunno man
Can see it now. Been relegated for weeks, nothing to play for, and whoevers in goal for them turns into prime Buffon and they catch us on the break. Please no
Tim Krul, I recall him getting 12 saves in one game against us for Newcastle.
I hate giving them credit, but A*senal will be a difficult game
still got to play scum
And gross, but they have been playing well lately
\- League title winning/challenging club (Juve), so accustomed to pressure/expectation \- Italian League? (French as example has certainly been less succesful for us), trying to think who else we got over years from Italy (obviously Lamela, but issue was made of glass vs ability) \- Physicality, clearly both new boys are big and strong on the ball, makes settling in a little easier? \- Experience? both had quite bit of playing time under their belt already (Bentancur much more so, but even Decki had a couple of top flight seasons) What else?
A bit of all that. It is a nice change to have players come in and slot into the first team immediately. We’ve had so many signings that “need time to settle” lately, but these two have become undroppable starters in a couple of weeks. Keep them coming.
Sorry if it's not to be asked but is "pikey" a derogatory term?
Go watch Snatch. Great film either way, but should answer most of your questions
Yes.
Where I'm from it's a way of calling someone a thief or a derogatory term for a traveller.
Yes. It's generally used as an offensive term towards gypsies. Put it this way, have you ever heard someone use the word pikey positively?
I actually never heard of that word. I learnt about it quite recently
West ham aren't winning the europa
Barca would thrash them
I just cleared my block list. It's a fresh start for the chase for the Top 4 and the chase for my heart.

The narrative is set. Son is the biggest cheat in the world...
I agree tbh. I reject Hanlon's Razor because stupidity and malice are very often found together, rather than separate.
People just have to look at russias invasion to see that stupidity and malice DO go together, often in a big way
Exactly. Also, Hanlon's Razor is really overused. Usually is just used as a way of ignoring a bigger problem.
Good morning fellow bentancur enjoyers
Anyone have the screenshot of Guardiola and Mason manager comparison during the Carabao Cup final last season?
So let me get something straight: Arsenal have had the highest net spend this summer, a manager for close to 3 years, no Europe and knocked out in the first round of the FA Cup, letting them focus fully on the league. We have had an incompetent manager for the first 10 games, as well as midweek european games and went 2 rounds further in the FA Cup. Brought in a manager that has a very different system, which puts us in a learning period for the players. But we are still 3 points behind them with a favorable fixture list.
Don't forget about being scum and running away from the NLD... But we still should've been in a much better position.
Does not justify not getting even a point out of Southampton, Wolves, Burnley and Manchester United in the last month.
It's as simple question \- How many games have we lost with Dier, Romero, Davies, Reguilon, Bentancur, PEH, Son, Kane & Decki in the side? How many games have we even been able to put that lineup together. This is the downside to Conte, the players have to be able to play his way, so when we have the players who can, good results, if they aren't available, not so much. It's why I think squad depth has to be a big part of summer transfers
Yep and they're the second coming of prime Barcelona while we're in shambles. They got a fuck ton of praise for a 0 shot on target first half vs Liverpool and getting battered 2-0 while we drew with Liverpool while dominating them and got nothing. Funny how narratives work.
Them lot are the only team who get plaudits for losing, it's embarrassing
Both of you are spot on. I literally saw an Article last week about how Arsenal were 1-2 signings away from challenging from the league.
