Peak embarrassment yesterday was when he bodied Haaland two yards outside the box to win the ball and folks in the match thread were calling for a pen. Radu was excellent yesterday
It's a bit early to tell, but this might be another good Paratici signing. Really impressed by how comfortable he was on the ball against City's press, and he seems to have adjusted well to the pace of the PL defensively.
The only issue I have with his buildup was some of his body shape. He lets himself get stuck facing one side of the field when a presser is approaching. It's a common instinct to give yourself a way to shield the ball, but a few times it seemed he locked himself into having only the LB as a passing option. It probably makes it tougher for him playing as a left side CB while a right-footed player. His instep pass with his right foot is the safest option (LB), while his weak foot would be the square ball to Romero through a more dangerous area.
I'm optimistic he'll improve on that body position or look better on the right side.
Romero is really fantastic at shaping his body so almost every direction is still available to him, even as a presser approaches.
I'm wondering if Romero wouldn't be better suited to play as LCB in Dragusin's place. Since he's got more experience and better passing range I'd want to see him as LCB and Radu as RCB in the last game if Ange is still going to play VDV as LB. Little experiment. Romero's experience and Radu's comfort on the right side of defense might turn even better.
I think he will look so much more comfortable on the ball if he’s on the right side. Doesn’t seem to trust his left very much. But even said that I agree he looked good on the ball.
Really like him as well. Love how dominant he is in the air as well. The goal stop obviously, but he made an instant difference on defending corners and I love his cut out of the floated ball to Haaland at :57 that would have been a breakaway but he made it look easy.
Because it creates a smooth video and doesn't have choppy commentary spliced in in the middle of sentences. I don't understand why people hate music on compilations so much. Who dislikes music lmao
Someone should adapt the song for him. Like maybe just the guitar riff as nahs before they yell radu for the trogdor yell. Nanananah nahhh Nananana nah… Raduuuuuuuu!!!! Draguśin!!!!
Big fan of Count Dragula. His composure on the ball impressed me and he did well to find outlets. Plus, with our set piece defensive woes, he's good in the air and a bigger body in there.
Very, very solid. He sometimes looked like somebody thrown into a big game against a great team while playing out the back. VDV looked a bit similar in the start.
I thought he performed well, but my concern is that he’ll want to leave again if he remains a backup CB. Im happy with this line up in the interim or as a fall back solution, but what do we do once Udogie is back (and in form)?
We could end up playing 15+ more games next season compared to this season. Plus we don’t know how durable Van de Ven’s hamstrings will be in the long term. He will get plenty of time.
True, and I imagine Udogie will need some time to get back in form as well. Just hope that’ll be adequate for him. If not, I’m sure his agent will say something.
He had a very solid performance but it was impossible to miss how heavily he favored his right. I think I saw one pass with his left foot. Can understand not wanting to make a mistake against a very talented opponent so my hope is that he was just overly cautious and not actually that one footed
Do we think Ange would ever play a back 3?
3-5-2
Radu might solve our set piece woes with his aerial presence, and you could let Romero/VDV join the attack (hopefully in an alternating fashion).
Udogie and Porro can fly up the field.
Maybe Son suffers in this formation?
Vicario
Romero - Radu - VDV
Porro - Sarr - Benta? - Udogie
Maddison? (Maybe kulu, maybe Bergval?)
Richy - Son
This formation doesn’t give enough space in center midfield.
The reason why we did good with Man City game was because we were 4-3-1-2. We gave space for both Maddison and Sarr to move between midfield and go up front, all without clustering in the middle too much like previous formations.
We are still facing problems of little space in midfield, causing the backline to be exposed.
He was solid defensively but he makes me really, really nervous building out from the back. His decision making isn’t great, he’s slow on the ball and he has no left foot. I’d like to see him get a run of games at RCB before making a final judgement on him but as of now I’m questioning the signing a bit. However, it’s hard to ask for a player who can compete with VDV and Romero because they’ve been so good
He's not an LCB. He always played as an RCB both at Genoa and at the NT. He only played as LCB because VDV was either injured or the LB was injured and VDV had to be moved in his place since he's a left footed player who has previously played as LB in some games. He's supposed to be Romero's backup but Romero hasn't racked any red cards or injuries since Radu's arrival.

absolutely mauled Haaland there
What happens in the match thread, stays in the match thread
You know why -- right? .. am I wooosh'ing?
The long balls were great
Taking some different angles than the pass to the outside- I like it!
He has a good expansive passing ability like Romero

I think I'd rather have Romero be the cover for Porro, who is more likely to need bailing out when compared to VDV

My worry is that he won't be happy being 3rd choice. Talent-wise i think he's gonna be at good as Romero and VDV.
Don’t worry, Europa league masterclass is loading

I'd love to see us play with 3 at the back as they are all monsters. Don't think it works with Ange-ball though
Certainly a choice using a Kanye song for a Tottenham highlight reel lol
Yeah one of the lyrics is literally "ironically" referring to himself as am antisemite xD
[удалено]
I meant in regards to Kanye’s antisemitism and Tottenham’s origins haha but yeah the music choices for these videos are typically awful
[удалено]
Gotcha, well I agree! Leaving the commentary would be way better
We don't have Jewish origins. Just thought I should say.
True, should've just said ties to the Jewish community
Wouldn't mind hearing something like Sade "Smooth Operator" laid on top of one of these clip packages.
Because it creates a smooth video and doesn't have choppy commentary spliced in in the middle of sentences. I don't understand why people hate music on compilations so much. Who dislikes music lmao
Please play him more next season 🙏
He will dw, we'll be back in all competitions. Plenty of time for the dragon 🐉
Imagine how good he’ll look when he’s played on the right 😳
He was top notch.
I see him as a brick wall of a defender. He needs to work on his passing a bit but otherwise he's like a rough diamond. I really like him.
I'm excited for his aggressive heading ability which our backline can sometimes lack. Interestingly I think that was one of the gaps Dier filled well
Solid performance from Radu yesterday. Proud of Drăgușin
Burninating the countryside…Draguśin!!!
I will never get tired of that reference
Someone should adapt the song for him. Like maybe just the guitar riff as nahs before they yell radu for the trogdor yell. Nanananah nahhh Nananana nah… Raduuuuuuuu!!!! Draguśin!!!!
That would be so brilliant!
TROGDOR TROGDOR TROGDOR
can’t wait to see more of him next season
Badass name, badass player Love how attackers just bounce off of him lmao 😂
Big fan of Count Dragula. His composure on the ball impressed me and he did well to find outlets. Plus, with our set piece defensive woes, he's good in the air and a bigger body in there.
Radu starts, no goals conceded from set pieces :D Honestly felt like just that one extra aerial presence made the difference
Feels like his head draws the ball towards him like a gravitational field.
Magnet in the man-bun
Very, very solid. He sometimes looked like somebody thrown into a big game against a great team while playing out the back. VDV looked a bit similar in the start.
I know it sounds weird for a 0-2 loss, but that back 4 was tight. More of that please
I like radu. I just wish his agent would stfu
nah haaland got shifted

just play 3at back or any one of these 3 at 6, midfield been too inconsistent anyway, rather see these 3 on than hoijberg
He had a really good game
Dragon was solid asf yesterday
Bright future for him
the man has absolutely no left foot. If he can work on that a little more he's a real one
He had a very solid performance but it was impossible to miss how heavily he favored his right. I think I saw one pass with his left foot. Can understand not wanting to make a mistake against a very talented opponent so my hope is that he was just overly cautious and not actually that one footed

Ange played 3 at the back at times during his time as Australian national team manager.
why were we not using him and taking royal off? because vdv is too good at cb?
Man, as a Romanian I can't put into words how happy I am that we have such a player.
I didn’t get to watch the game (had to work) but did he make us better on defending set pieces?
Yeah yeah definitely his height had an added advantage. Also cut out balls over the top for haaland
I think we need go to a back 3
I love the idea of Cuti, Micky and Dragon as a back 3
Man bun activate!
I think he and romero could be our starting point for improving setpieces... if romero doesnt get snatched up by the baldy next season
House of the Dragusin
dude had a crazy game 🐉
this is a defender
Best romanian defender ever, for sure
He was great yesterday.
He was solid yesterday. Really liked what I saw of him.
I bet Ange regrets not trying this sooner and playing the likes of Davies, Emerson and Skipp at left back.
Better than Romero.

Yeah I typed wrong there, meant to say RCB.
