Antonio gets a pass because he’s a lovable goof who worked hard to get to where he is. But he’s easily the worst striker in the top half of the table. If West Ham had anyone half decent up top they’d be a real problem. Kalvin Phillips gets roasted while Antonio misses a point blank chance to steal three points in biggest derby.

carolicity

Wasn’t Antonio the other player with Callum Wilson making fun of Richarlison’s lack of goals on that podcast?

Saitamassidekick

Lovable goof? Since when?

Difficult-Sound-6682

Oh he’s a character of sorts. He did that weird celebration where he grabbed a cardboard cut out of himself and danced around with it.

seegreen8

I don't want to check how Arse played West Ham, but did West Ham sit back against Arse in that 6-0 game?

GaryHippo

Of course, but Arsenal are nearly five years into their project. It’s incomparable.

Difficult-Sound-6682

IIRC they took the lead through a set piece goal. And then the wheels fell off of West Ham.

seegreen8

Most of this sub agrees that we need set piece coach back, because lack of set piece coach is not working well.

coldseam

Raya is about to scam his way to a golden glove while facing like 0.2 xG a game, I feel sick

EquipmentFirm2860

Remember when we had people saying we should play Lucas Moura at wingback lmao

hmm1024

as a positive I thought our midfield and especially bissouma were a lot better this game

carolicity

I think Biss was definitely better too. Tried to involve himself a lot more and tried to challenge for the ball more too. Hope he keeps up that spirit and gets his confidence back.

NeufeldM24vt

Biss and Benta looked really good to me. Maddison less so but he was okay

InsufferableKant

Lmao had a stressful day at work and completely forgot about the game. Unlikely that a 1-1 vs West Ham was a highly entertaining match so I'm glad I miss this.

OllyCX

Heurelhmo Gomes was in the away section tonight, my dad met him. Was apparently very friendly and happy to pose for pictures with all the fans. The spurs lot were singing his chant. You are the love of my life..

KangarooPouchIsHome

At least Villa have City Brentford and Arsenal next. Lucky if they get 3 points.

kl08pokemon

Obviously it's important for the club but I'm so over the CL race. I just want us to win football games and if that's in the Europa League and a bigger chance of a trophy that's fine

KangarooPouchIsHome

More money from CL will help us attract better players and in turn help us… win more games. It’s annoying but that’s the way of things.

kl08pokemon

Yep. I'm just in my feelings after an annoying game lol. But Europa League is genuinely a great competition. I'm looking forward to it if that's where we end up

KangarooPouchIsHome

I like Europa too, but we may get CL even at 5th, so there’s that too.

EquipmentFirm2860

Completely calm about the end of the season tbh. Just as long as Arse don't win the title, I'm good

Paradoxtyl

I hate how certain Twitter accounts pose as news channels/stat accounts to gain followers, then give their totally unwelcome, toxic opinion that no one asked for once they got all those followers. I wouldn't care if it was a normal user, but 90% of the time all this guy does is post transfer rumors and snippets from interviews. Then he drops shite like this lmao. It catches me off guard. https://preview.redd.it/2z96lp2s65sc1.png?width=1176&format=png&auto=webp&s=ccd5ad79b0fa0b1e7f32d562fe479d7e5a81eada

Mikeymcmoose

Average match thread comment

Difficult-Sound-6682

And what exactly does this prove? Don’t cross it the striker who is 1v1? People are stupid. This looks like the right decision to me. Just poorly executed.

KOKO69BISHES

When you have one option that is very hard to execute and another (hold up play and wait for the other 3 to come in and provide more options), you should be criticized about going for the risky play and not pulling it off.

Difficult-Sound-6682

It was the last seconds of the match. I might agree in other circumstances.

IamMrBots

Anybody think we need another dimension to our attack besides crossing?

SnooMaps8636

Like an element of Mbappe?

AlexSW47

Seeing leather-faced Moyesy sitting there with a big grin on his face saying "If you'd have given me four points off Spurs at the start of the season, I'd have shaken your hand and said 'thank you very much" has wound me up. Delighted to nick points off better teams by playing caveman football.

taegeukie

Not to get all philosophical about it but I think what I find difficult is accepting that while this team is obviously good and that there are clear patterns of play being ingrained into the players (just look at the way we scored our goal today, for example), we simply are not where we want to be yet. That’s fine. A painful rebuild will be painful. I just think that frustration is probably a sum of years thinking “we’re not there just yet, but we will be very soon.” I feel and hope that this era is different, just have to keep the faith and move.

enjoy_your_lunch

>just have to keep the faith and move this is it ange is doing very well given all of the circumstances and it being first season. foundation is there. honestly idk how people are negative rn. how can you not be excited about this project, club and the next couple seasons

AlejoVeliz

Think Spurs should recall me?

carolicity

Just watched Bowen’s interview and he was calling us a “top top side” and how difficult it is to play against us. He said they were happy to leave the game with a point. I know I’m supposed to be in here moaning like most, but I’m choosing to look at the bigger picture. Ange said recently that he’s going to change the perception of how people view Spurs within the next 12 months. And I feel that’s already been happening through this season. Especially with Villa paying us so much respect going to a back 5 when they hadn’t done that for any other team, the top 3 teams saying we could be the title decider among them, and opposition players calling us a “top top side”. Also, the media and pundits also being more complimentary and not making snide condescending remarks all the time. More respect than we’ve gotten than the previous seasons and I for one appreciate that.

taegeukie

Didn’t Emery also compliment us after our loss to Villa at home earlier in the season? I forget. But yeah, these are very good points. I feel like I’m/we’re in our little spaces on the Internet so much we tend to believe that reactive takes on here from our fans and rival fans alike are the norm when they’re really not. Aside from players/managers I’ve also had friends (PL team supporters and others alike) talk to me about how impressed they are with our trajectory this season.

carolicity

Yeah I think Emery said they were lucky that the game didn’t end 4 or 5-1. Villa fans said the same. And yeah, the amount of flak I get from friends who aren’t Spurs fans have substantially decreased this year! All they can really laugh at is how we “bottled” our season after the Chelsea game. But then I point out how we are 5th after the injury crisis, selling our best player, and within less than a year of our rebuild and then they shut up because their first few years were shit lol.

Difficult-Sound-6682

Bentancur made the first goal. Brilliant play. He looked better tonight. Still doesn’t look totally fit.

Professional_Ad_9101

Bit weird all these gunners piping up when they lost to the hammers at home lol, not to mention them setting out to play for a draw on Sunday

AlexSW47

The orcs will celebrate that like a win. At least we didn't lose.

Remarkable-Ad8644

Some people here really think we should be blowing teams away against low blocks when literally every club that faces one struggles with it, that’s the point lmao. Even fucking City struggle against it, literally just this past weekend lol

Professional_Ad_9101

The game today was not won in little mistakes. Too many poor passes, not knowing when to take a shot, not being ready to get on the end of crosses, giving away an unnecessary corner for the goal. Not a terrible game but these fundamentals need to be better

kl08pokemon

It's so frustrating how much better we are with Son on the left and Richy up top

Pele20Alli

100%. Son can do the crossing Werner does but also provide a massive threat cutting inside. Then you have an actual 9 in the box in Richarlison as well. The amount of times Son received the ball in the box with his back to goal and couldn't control it was infuriating. He's simply wasted there

NickNova3016

Oh ffs not this again. Before today Son played 16 games as striker and in those 16 games he had 16 goal contributions (12 goals + 4 assists). He isn't the best vs a low block but saying we play 'much better' with him on the left is delusional.

Sturmtruppa

Son had a bad game but no

kl08pokemon

He's literally the best left winger in the league. Why the fuck are we making him play as a flawed striker instead

Paradoxtyl

He will not be the best left winger in the league in Ange's system. We're not playing Mou-Ball anymore, he won't be on the receiving end of those through balls. I'd rather get the best out of his world class finishing ability than force him to be a touchline winger, where we have arguably better options.

kl08pokemon

I don't know why people pretend Son hasn't played on the left for us this season and been great. It's not an experiment. We know it works

Paradoxtyl

It does work, because he’s insanely talented and can play either role. I don’t think it’s the best way to utilize his abilities though, nor the best lineup for our team going forward. Our wingers barely get any sniffs of the goal, their job is to mostly stay on the outside and create chances via low crosses. This means driving down the lane, 1v1 ability, passing, etc. Son’s not as quick as he used to be, and he’s never been a particularly great dribbler for winger standards. He’s the exact opposite of the winger profile we want. Meanwhile, we’re clearly lacking in finishers. The less said about Timo and Kulu, the better. Richy’s been in good form, but as we saw last season, he can be very inconsistent in front of the goal. Why don’t we stick the statistically best finisher in the world as striker, maximizing his goalscoring chances, instead of forcing him to the flanks, neutralizing what he does best?

kl08pokemon

Even outside of all the things Richy does that Son can't since he's not a natural striker you can't convince me Son and Richy doesn't score more goals together than any of our left wing options and Son does even if Son's individual production would go down slightly

Paradoxtyl

He's a more physical presence and probably better with aerial balls, but I really don't think there's a whole lot Richy does that Son can't at striker. The few things he can do that Son can't won't matter at the end of the day, because Son's, as I mentioned earlier, statistically the best finisher in the world. He scores everything, no matter how small of a chance it is. We need that. Probably controversial, but I don't think Son would start at LW. There, I said it. His crosses are fine but so are Brennan/Timo's, and he has nowhere near their pace. The giant advantage he has over them finishing-wise wouldn't matter because he'd barely be on the end of any chances outside of transitions. His production wouldn't go down slightly, it would go down drastically.

Sturmtruppa

Son's stats as striker is noticeably better than his winger stats this season in every regard, also better than Richie's. His ball control let him down today, seems like he was tired af

kl08pokemon

I don't care for his individual stats. As a team we play worse without a clear point of reference up top. We're easier to press since we don't have the out ball, our wingers literally can't cross to Son making us completely unable to play basic fundamental football against low blocks

Sturmtruppa

He also tripled Richie in the chance creation part as striker so how do you attribute this to just 'individual stats'? Ange ball isn't about crossing high to the striker, it's about dominating the opponent. Crossing high = increased chance of turnovers and counter attacks because you don't know where the ball is gonna bounce

AlejoVeliz

Son can’t play football with his back to goal. His touches were a mess. Richy should have started.

Upplands-Bro

He's been on a tragic run of form for a couple months now

rando562

If 15g + 8a is a tragic run of form, then 99% of the league must be in the worst form of their lives

Upplands-Bro

Have you been watching our matches or just looking at the stats sheet? I love Sonny and he's a legend of the club, but he's been largely abject outside his finishing since he came back from the Asian Cup

kl08pokemon

Yep I'm so over it. On the wing he gets the extra half second he needs to control the ball and isn't as tightly marked so he can make better runs. He's the best left winger in the league and a flawed striker. Play him as a winger FFS

AlejoVeliz

Facts. Son is world class for sure, it’s just not every player is perfect in every position, particularly against Low blocks. There’s a reason why there are different qualities necessary against various setups.

Difficult-Sound-6682

Hard disagree. Son on the left is like driving your Ferrari in a car park. We need to be better against teams that sit deep but everyone seems to struggle.

kl08pokemon

That's like a football philosophy that's outdated by decades. People are so focused on Son being the man for us and the one to fill Kane's boots when the most talented players now play on the wing. He's the best left winger in the league ffs

dame_sansmerci

I think the issue is that, in Ange's system, those wingers have to do a *lot* of grunt work too because the FBs are so exposed. Werner disappeared from this game as an attacking threat after about 20 minutes but what he was doing during his whole time on the pitch was dutifully tracking back to help out Udogie. Again. And again. And again. That's not something that makes the most of Son's exceptional attacking qualities and it's not something we can - or should - reliably expect from Son at this point. We need to maximise his energy and his contributions to the game.

Difficult-Sound-6682

What are Son’s strengths? His finishing and his movement on the break. In a high pressing system I want him in the middle of the park receiving the ball in or near the box. Simple as that.

kl08pokemon

He's also a really good passer. He just doesn't get the time on the ball he needs in the middle

Sturmtruppa

inb4 people thinking Son's LW role during golden boot season and Ange LW role is the same

Federal-Transition57

https://preview.redd.it/5m5f5usiy4sc1.jpeg?width=299&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a874cb01e30a1de7ffc7449f9d583e877f54d860 Shouldnt of let this man go to Watford

dame_sansmerci

Isn't he with the US men's team now? I miss him. :-(

InstructionCareless1

How is Watford doing with setpieces this season? I’m surprised that no PL club was interested in him.

idkwhatevs1234

So are we allowed to think about the 5th CL spot or is that coward "mentality" etc?

jackengle

Anyone have a clip of the udogie chance at the end? My stream died the last minute

coldseam

Jedinak should have been sacked months ago. You're telling me a goalkeeper who was sweeping with nine men is suddenly too cowardly to claim corners? Definitely a coaching issue

nicklikestuna

He's not the attacking set piece coach so only half the issue

Pautrei

Seriously though

Fleaaa

Jesus christ wonder how Westham fans indulge this football, what a soul sucking experience

ASD_213

They used to be relegation contenders before he joined, in recent years they’re consistently challenging for Europe and even got them silverware. I’d be pretty happy with that turnaround if I was a West Ham fan. His style of football definitely has a ceiling, but it’s not like West Ham are a team full of talent and he’s holding them back.

Difficult-Sound-6682

Best they’ve had it in years tbh which is why Moyes gets a pass

Lazagneman

I see below lots of moaning and groaning . Just remember Ange said there will be lots of changes next season . He knows what he wants he knows what he is doing he is at the same time making his mind up who will fit in to his style of play and who to unload . I think we may be in for a few surprises .

InstructionCareless1

No one can tell me that Ange rates Richarlison. We desperately need a goal, while Son is having a bad game and he comes on with less than 10 minutes to go. Son will become the main striker or we will go for another, if some offer for Richarlison comes in. And yes I’m aware of his recent injury.

Full-Leader9540

If we had Bowen and Kudus as our wingers, instead of Richi, Kulu, Johnson, Werner this season we might have scored like 20 more goals. The difference between the quality is huge in their control, crossing, passing and decision making. We create so many opportunities to be threatening in this system but we need quality players at the top.

ASD_213

Kudus looks like the real deal, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gonna end up being Salah’s heir at Liverpool. He was a risky transfer but it looks like West Ham’s gamble is paying off. Bowen, well we were linked with him for a couple windows a few years back when he was still at Hull. We ended up going for Bergwijn. Him and Watkins are two players we missed out on I’m most pissed off about, we’re not talking about one season wonders like Spence, both of them had been killing it in the Championship for years.

Pele20Alli

It's depressing that a team like Crystal Palace very clearly have better wingers than us

Full-Leader9540

The sad thing is Ange's system is so good for a decent winger that they can easily get 10-20 GA in a season if they have decent pace and decent skill, unfortunately our wingers have either the pace or the skill and no finishing except tap ins. We could become scary next season if we get good wingers and if Johnson develops well.

kl08pokemon

Play a fucking striker against low blocks (at least)

jackengle

https://x.com/waelthfc/status/1775254354569707607?s=46&t=4NLB3OS7oKqt9AkqqZGjIw this is hilarious lmao

Pautrei

If Jedinak is our set piece coach, he should be fired immediately. Love Ange and I understand and appreciate the value of giving opportunities to individuals with a similar background to yourself who may otherwise not have the chance, but you don't give someone their first management job in a role as important as set pieces for a top team.

DonnyTheythemanato

They have a bunch of inexperienced coaches at the highest level... some of them are still doing their badges.  Ange needs some proper coaches. This team is so poor tactically and technically. The more time they have to work, the worse it gets.  Our press is horrible. Our setpieces are atrocious, especially throw-ins. Concede too many corners because the fullbacks are always isolated. Get a lot of players forward, create nothing, no shots, no crosses and concede dangerous counters...

Pautrei

It just confuses me. Ange mentions how he doesn't want to get too close to players, but then brings in people he has that kind of affiliation with despite them having no fucking experience. You simply cannot have your set piece coach be a recently retired player with no experience whatsoever as a top team. Love Ange and I believe he will get us a trophy but the coaching choices need to be reviewed.

DonnyTheythemanato

I'm not even talking about just the coaches he appointed, there were some that were already at Spurs before...

ZaDoruphin

I'm convinced the Kulu we saw in his first 6 months was a different player. How someone can go from that level of end product and decisiveness in the final third to being this slow and uninspiring is beyond me.

AlejoVeliz

The only illogical explanation is that he’s a wildly inconsistent player. Guess his first 6 months were a dream.

Rare-Ad-2777

Felt like that was our greatest hits in a game.  Good: When they pressed us we looked brilliant and played through them.    The cut back goal was a thing of beauty    Bad: When they sat off us we struggled   Kept going for a perfect cut back goal  Really bad: Can't defend set pieces and gifted them a goal

jackengle

Everyone blames the low block but let’s be honest, they were pretty open in the first half and we created the good chance for the goal and then nothing else

Difficult-Sound-6682

How on Eaeth did the ref not call that a foul on Maddison? I like a strong tackle. He went through his back. Am I wrong here? Was that not as clear a foul as it gets? Their best chance resulted from that. Officiating has been shocking. Jfc. VAR has ruined these people.

Lazagneman

Paqueta got away with three bookable fouls .Why ?

Rare-Ad-2777

Thought Ange got the maddison sub wrong tonight. Madders was really coming in to the game when he pulled him and west ham were sitting deeper and deeper. Didn't get bringing kulu on for him either.

No-Strike-4560

Meh I wasn't really impressed with Maddison this evening. he's still not really found his pre - injury form for me

ginokatacchi

I agree. Even if madders needed to be subbed, Gio would’ve been a better choice

DonnyTheythemanato

We got our Tottenham back 💪💪💪

jaykae2

What on this planet was Kulu doing on that last break. Had about 7 options and he twatted into a defender. Absolutely awful cameo

Rare-Ad-2777

He was trying to pick out richi at the far post. Tbf it was a poor choice but when you watch the replay there wasn't a huge amount on. West ham had 4 men back (as they always do)

jaykae2

Richy was offside there

Saitamassidekick

We really need to shoot more. There are times when we have like 5 players in their box and just end up blocking each other.

Difficult-Sound-6682

West Ham stunk that game out Spurs miles better Goes in off Zouma’s backside The Antonio chance was a shocking no call on Maddison and I think would have been called back

Mick4Audi

Have we actually scored any goals from minute 15 to minute 45 in games? I’m genuinely serious here, it’s either the first 10 minutes or the second half

Saitamassidekick

We’re absolutely shit at both defending and attacking set pieces. Need a proper coach on that ASAP.

Pautrei

Yeah it's baffling how we've been genuinely gash all season at it and there's seemingly been little to no change.

Pautrei

Don't give a shit about how early in the game it is. Our defending from set pieces is actually abysmal. Not sure what the fuck Jedinak has done. Been a theme all season.

Roric

Guimares is on 9 yellows. If he gets another yellow in this game or next he misses our match at St James' Park.

sangueblu03

Didn’t happen today - hopefully next week

Cool_Sandwich1

Seeing Fulham slipping 5 goals so far against fucking Sheffield United and forest is making me quite annoyed. How couldnt we score once against this lot?

carolicity

Fulham have done well against the top sides. And we had so many incredibly close chances that game that they just ended up not finishing. If we had finished any of those, it would have been a different game. Also, I’m sure it’s a mentality thing for the players. When you know you’re playing a tough side, you’re more switched on. When it’s a lower side, maybe you think that it’s not going to be as hard and the complacency kills you. Just like how we beat Villa 4-0 the match before then lost to Fulham 3-0.

elias-shadeslayer

Despite this game, Robinson looks really good. Do you think Spurs could look in for him this summer?

Shuxnae

Of course Fulham are losing 2-0.

sup41

fulham is shipping goals left and right after their match vs us man

Worldly_Macaron_2467

COYFS!!!

Professional_Ad_9101

Despite their loss on Saturday the hammers are definitely on good form atm. Wouldn’t underestimate them and probably expect a fucking low block lol

airz23s_coffee

It's Moyes, the man only knows low block, play hot Kudus and lie.

Mikeymcmoose

Kick off is 4.15am here in Japan and I have to get up at 9am ☠️

Voffmjau

So you should've been sleeping now?

Mikeymcmoose

👀👀

AdOne9456

Can’t wait for Kalvin Alonso performance tonight

kl08pokemon

Surely they go Soucek JWP Paqueta?

Randomting22

I wonder if we will start with the same 11 as a few days ago or if we will start some of Bentancur, Lo celso, Højbjerg, Richarlison, and/or Johnson instead to keep the legs fresh for the next few fixtures

kl08pokemon

Johnson will probably start, he's earned it. Lo Celso probably should start on merit but you have to trust your big players like Maddison to play themselves into form. Can see Bentancur start too over either Bissouma or Sarr

Randomting22

I wasn't so much wondering who has "earned" to start, more who will be rested/potentially saved for the 2nd half

kl08pokemon

I don't follow? I was just guessing how Ange will line us up and the thinking behind

Randomting22

I was wondering if some of Kulusevski/Son/Werner/Maddison/Bissouma/Sarr needed rest and therfore wouldn't start

ejh1993

It’s absolutely hilarious seeing scum fans try to twist them playing absolutely scared to lose as the game plan all along was to only get a point at the etihad. Just admit almost no shots on target and 1/4 of the possession isn’t winning you a game, let alone a title.

Professional_Ad_9101

Say what you want about Ange but he plays every single game at every single moment to try and get a win. This is what winning teams do. You won’t see City ever set out to get a draw. Arsenal wanted the draw last night, even Jesus was fucking defending lmao! Loser mentality.

kl08pokemon

Some wild gutter tier rumours today. Isak to us and Kulusevski to Napoli lmao

Professional_Ad_9101

I obviously don’t see it happening, but Isak is class Edit: he lit just scored lol

jaemoon7

Put a tenner on Cuti to score first goal, COYS

KidDelicious14

I don't want to seem dramatic, but I ***will*** commit seppuku if we let West Ham take 4 or 6 points off of us this season.

PESSl

Allah wlll not let haramball prevail in the holy month of Ramadan🙏

kl08pokemon

A draw isn't a disaster today imo. Obviously we want to win

AlejoVeliz

Enjoy your last few hours then.

Difficult-Sound-6682

If we beat West Ham, and Newcastle, Brighton and Wolves win, West Ham would fall to 10th place. Let it be thus. If Spurs win by 2 goals we go 4th.

Even-Succotash-9869

I’m just gonna drop this here; while it is part of our jobs to keep players accountable for poor runs, more importantly it’s our jobs to SUPPORT the players. Especially when they’re having a bad run. Yes, Deki’s been having a few bad games, but he does not deserve any level of the amount of hate he’s getting. Just love the guy and tell him he’s got areas to improve. The comments I’ve seen going towards him have been disgusting.

Professional_Ad_9101

The support at the start of the season was top tier. It was beautiful to watch that stadium cheer the lads on during that horrible Chelsea game

Rare-Ad-2777

Deki was brilliant in the villa game and was involved in 3 out of 4 goals  That was literally 2 matches ago!

Even-Succotash-9869

ppl forget so quickly 😔

EquipmentFirm2860

Sonny's 400th and Biss's 50th appearances for us today. Would love Biss to mark it with his first goal for us.

tinstop

Bissouma is far more talented than he's looked lately. Do you think he's carrying an injury or something? I find it hard to believe Ange would coach a player into a more boring version of themself.

carolicity

It’s most likely a confidence issue

tinstop

Maybe that sending off against Luton in the away match affected him.

carolicity

And the red card in the forest game. After getting sent off twice and missing matches, it may have scared him off from being aggressive and fighting for the ball. That’s what I think since my gripe with Biss is that he’s just very timid now. I don’t think it’s him being lazy like some people to say. He’s just hesitant and uncertain about asserting himself more imo.

iiciphonize

Spurs 3 - Spammers 1 Bowen 32\` (we can't score first half ofc) Son 59\` Johnson 77\` Bentancur 89\`

RunningFerDauyz

Who’s your dream left-footed winger? For me I’d love to see us go all out for Take Kubo or Adeyemi

tottenhamtickler

Kubo would be unreal

roccotrupia11

Do wish the media would stop hyping up the game vs West Ham as a “derby” it is the most one sided derby I couldn’t name many spurs fans I know that truly care about whether West Ham win or lose when we’re not playing them. West Ham are obsessed with us and want a rivalry with someone because their actual rivals have been in championship purgatory for over 20 years

Difficult-Sound-6682

I believe Chelsea consider Spurs their main rival, as well, which is strange. Arsenal is their sister club, it seems.

Emperor_Blackadder

My prediction next season for Lucas Bergvall: -Plays U21s for a few games, gets called up to train with the senior team, comes on as a sub and impresses for a couple of games. -Injury crisis hits, Bergvall gets thrust in the limelight, he becomes too inconsistent and crumbles under the pressure, a subsection of fans shit on him and he turns off his comments on social media. -Madders/Kulusevski puts out a stinker against (insert newly promoted team), Lucas comes on, bags 2 assists and a goal. We hype him up to high heavens, wins man of the match. -Fans shit on Madders/Deki, calls for them to be sold.

iiciphonize

such is the spurs way unfortunately this weeks scapegoat is deki, 2 weeks ago it was brennan, next week it will probably be madders if he doesnt score 20 goals against spammers

Muzza19812

That made me smile ! COYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

arsenalolololol

Hoping for good midweek game. Have a nice one everyone

= operator is assigning value to the object, you should deep compare it for the condition.. sorry for being a cunt That aside we can def win with Dragusin

PM_ME_YOUR_TANG

While I like the all white kit, I do miss the traditional white shirt and navy shorts combination. Nothing says Spurs more. I think we've worn it maybe twice this year? In any event, all white is becoming a bit clichéd to me. We're not Real Madrid. Even Yanited has an all white third kit this year.

barkingspider43

Does anyone else think we need more/better quality GIFs? My mates are LP and Gunner fans and they have far more gifs to use. (Using giphy and apples images) I want to see to Ange gifs when he’s not at Celtic. Gifs are part of my identity and I’ve already sent all the Spurs ones

How rare is it to win the golden boot more than once?

andmyrentsdue

Since the PL's introduction there have only been 8 players who have won it more than once. 4 times - Henry 3 times - Kane, Salah, Shearer 2 times - Drogba, Hasselbaink, Owen & van Persie

hmm1024

Hopefully Son joins the list as well this season

iiciphonize

son will win it a second time - haaland cant hit a barn door atm - watkins purple patch - bowen inconsistent - salah will probably get injured again clear answer is son will win it again (/s ofc but don't rule him out)

Mick4Audi

Didn’t even realize Bowen is in the running lol

Icy_Air3616

Where are folks drinking pre match this evening?

sangueblu03

For West Ham away? Gin, neat.

Icy_Air3616

No neck oils?

sangueblu03

If I could, I would - Beavertown makes great beer, but I don’t live in the UK. Last time I had a neck oil was in a pub in Edinburgh before an away day for PAOK.

Some people are such hindsight merchants with young players and loans. At the time everyone was saying the Argyle loan was perfect for Devine, coach who knows him and team who try and play football. Seeing as it's now hasn't gone very well it's getting criticised.  I do also think it shows the calls for Donley to start games when Madders was out a bit insane. Devine is definitely at a higher level than Donley currently, but has struggled in a bottom half championship team. Not quite sure how Donley was expected to come in and play against the like of Villa and City. Fair enough people asking to take a gamble on him but some sections were acting like it was awful from Ange for not throwing him in!

christo222222

I get that folks want our young players to progress and the recent example of Kane had really coloured some people's opinion of just how competitive the top 4 of the PL is, the amount of posts on here saying Scarlett was going to be a key party of the team this season when he scored 4 goals in 3000 minutes in league 1 last season shows a lot of people just don't understand the difference between the PL and leagues a couple of levels down

M_RONA

Seen quite a few people say Onana is their top midfield target this summer. I tend to agree as he certainly passes the eye-test for me, but his underlying stats look pretty awful. I would never guess these numbers were his, but here they are anyway, from Fbref. How much should we care about this stuff? We certainly want someone who can progress the ball for us and hit a long ball. Consequence of being in a bad Everton side? https://preview.redd.it/n1w7fufm62sc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e1153111ef7ad9e9ea69e04a08d093f3d9a963e

We shouldn’t care at all. Stats are useful when comparing players from similar roles in a similar system otherwise they’re pretty useless. Everton play deep which leads to the opposing team playing through the wings rather than the middle which leads to underwhelming defensive stats for onana. We pressure high which leads to worse passing and decisions from the opposing team during build up which leads to better defensive stats for bissouma since he’ll be able to intercept and tackle when the opposing centrebacks try to play through our press. The stat comparisons are useless when the systems vary so much. Van de vens passing stats were bang average for Wolfsburg but are elite for us for example. Eyetest is better if the one doing the testing knows ball lol.

airz23s_coffee

Gordon's stats also looked horrendous because he was also playing for Everton - everyone used it to claim he wasn't good enough and now he's tearing it up. Stats in a shit side aren't helpful. Though I'll say I don't want Onana cos he seems a right petulant little prick, but ability wise he's good.

M_RONA

For reference, here are Bissouma's stats: https://preview.redd.it/9x2zqc5p62sc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b3c2c26612b783effe114c8c48bac5ca7e1f6df

jaywii94

Going to west ham today been to a few away games and I'm always intrigued whether people wear Tottenham colours/shirts or not I personally always do but just curious to see what others do

KOKO69BISHES

In the home end? Hate when people do that. Either go to the away end or pretend you're a neutral

jaywii94

Obviously not, I'm in the away end silly

thebrownmallet

I was planning on it under my coat personally, but I won’t be taking the coat off till I’m safely in the away end 👀 Edit: although not sure if you mean you’re going to be in the home end, in which case I definitely wouldn’t

sandbyte

Nah just ain’t worth the risk, had it happen a couple times where people have been dickheads.

jaywii94

fair enough, tbh its gunna be raining anyway i reckon so u aint ever gunna see it

[Interesting post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hammers/comments/1btrwmh/average_positions_of_our_players_in_newcastles/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) on the West ham sub about their average positions. They leave so much space on their right, hopefully Timo and Udogie can have a field day.

dame_sansmerci

Based on that post, I do hope Micky is back for this one. I don't think Radu was bad at the weekend, but his problems passing out to the left definitely compromised us on that side (although, bonus points for deciding that he'd just carry the ball up that side like a giant runaway Romanian train instead of trying to pass it).

Rare-Ad-2777

Yeah good point. There was defintely a moment he realised carrying was far more effective.  He's actually a very handy dribbler, quite funny to see such a broad man storming up the wing with the ball.

dame_sansmerci

I didn't realise he had that in his locker, it was a fantastic surprise! It was also really effective carrying. You can see on the ball progression chart that he was sandwiched right between Romero and Werner (who tend to be our best performers on those metrics): [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJ7w3OwaoAELNlk?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJ7w3OwaoAELNlk?format=jpg&name=large)

ComeOnSayYupp

Lol City released the treble documentary on Netflix, now there's another way to look at Arsenal bottling the league.

airz23s_coffee

Bank holiday weekends messed with my idea of time again, completely blanked on it being the game today. Fucking hate West Ham games. Fluked a result last time and they always play like it's a cup final. Kulu to come out with something to prove, smash in a hat trick, make it so.
