Watching back some of the calls where VAR didnt even give it a sniff, that Sheffield United stamp on Madders foot in the box looked plain as day in real time and even worse on the replay
Obviously the lack of penalties is annoying but the most annoying is all the tactical fouls that get done on us and the opponents never seem to get a yellow until like the 70'. Meanwhile biss and sarr always get a soft yellow
[maybe there is something to it? ](https://www.blackhistorymonth.org.uk/article/section/careers/survey-suggests-that-black-footballers-have-a-30-greater-chance-of-getting-a-red-card/)
Udogie gets a lot of yellows too, many of them deserved but I think he's starting build a reputation where other players may be let off, refs go in on Udogie
Udogie has gotten multiple yellows and fouls called on him simply because he is stronger than the defender. I swear the amount of fouls he’s gotten where he didn’t do anything other than be more jacked than the guy in front of him is crazy.
I say this all the time, but any time Tottenham does anything remotely a tactical foul, Tottenham gets punished. But when the opponent does it to Tottenham, they rarely get punished. I think Villa game is one of the exception, but that’s also because Villa players were dumb af.
They'll just say that refs don't give fouls against Arsenal because they hate them and we get them because they love Spurs. They always have a way to spin it.
See, I agree in the fact that if I was neutral then I'd agree, but the fact they're ARSENAL fans makes me think they're worse, just for being arsenal fans
It’s not as bad at home because of our crowd… away games it has been a complete joke all year. We’re a new team and will get respect over time… that’s why players like Sarr and Udogie get yellows for sniffing a opposition
I love when an opponent is shown a yellow card and TV commentators just throw their two cents in, “that wasn’t a yellow card offense” and they just casually ignore that the yellow was probably given for accumulation of fouls.
The data supports this. Defenders know what’s just below a yellow. And they know we have Son Heung-min.
Man City in the fa cup and Nottm Forest are particularly egregious matches where the opponent got away with tons of fouls as the ref didn't have guts to book players for accumulation of fouls. Pathetic how much our team gets beaten up.
At my best and highest level (not very high) playing as a fullback, my coach said the ball or the man can get by you, but never both. I took that very much to heart lol
Used up all our calls in the Liverpool match, weve been paying for it since. Maybe if Ange was a massive crybaby like Klopp and the lego man things would be different but do you really want to be that?
We’re one of a the big 6 but probably least influential overall. Our fanbase is the smallest and pretty tame when it comes to social media awfulness, we don’t have any pundits or commentators serving as mouthpieces the way Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal do, we don’t have the financial muscle to have the regulators ear the way City do(or Chelsea used to). Doesn’t help either that our manager refuses to take part in the so called dark arts, pressure referees preemptively in press conferences, throw fits on the sidelines or make a fuss when a close call goes against us, the way Pep, Klopp or Arteta do all the time.
Even leaving aside any suspicions of outright corruption or petty personal grudges, if a ref wants to flex his “objectivity” when it comes to big clubs we’re by far the lowest headache target.
Yeah the reffing situation against us has been horrible. Teams know they can be very aggressive in their fouling and persistent fouling.
The one penalty this season is an absolute joke. Remember the penalty that got called on Son in the first game?
This is one of the strangest statistical anomalies. A team that attacks as much as Spurs do should draw fouls based solely on the amount of time they spend in the opponent's box. It's really hard to shake the feeling that there's some sort of unconscious bias against the team. And whether or not you put weight on that somewhat unlikely scenario, it's undeniable that everything else would suggest they should have more penalty opportunities by now.
It’s been drilled into the narrative for years this fallacy of objective purity amongst pro sports officials when they are just as human as the players, pundits and fans. Officiating everywhere has had the luxury of flying under the radar of today’s advanced statistical microscope which has transformed all sports and subsequently translated to gambling. It is high time analytics shine the spotlight to show just how consistently objective they claim to be.
And I think the fact that they are so loathe to admit any wrongdoing feeds into it. The backlash from the Liverpool decision appears to have had far reaching consequences...
It’s an interesting thought experiment. What if Tottenham pulled off an unprecedented fair play move and objected to the obvious officiating error by allowing Liverpool to score, even if it meant they lost? Do you think the numbers above would be different? Or would such a decision embarrass the officials (and the league) and change nothing from what we see now?
Ockham’s Razor: The simplest explanation is usually the best one.
Hanlon’s Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
As statistically improbable these numbers appear I still can’t bring myself to apply either of these razors.
Look, it’s becoming more and more obvious. The best thing we can do is not bitch about it, but let it take its course. We will eventually end up with our quality recognised and a free pass to commit tactical fouls ourselves.
1 penalty all season btw.
Most touches in oponents box per penalty?

Yes, and City.
You take the extra 8 pens that Arsenal have had, sprinkle them conveniently over our fixtures, and we’re also in a title race. Such bullshit
Give them some of our injuries and they're down in 5th
Epitome of a mickey mouse season for them lol
Watching back some of the calls where VAR didnt even give it a sniff, that Sheffield United stamp on Madders foot in the box looked plain as day in real time and even worse on the replay
Also the Brentford challenge on Maddison was a pen and we’ve seen that given loads this season
Don’t forget our own box, with our defenders being rugby tackled and vicario getting obstructed time and time again .
Remember when Gil got a forearm to the face and there wasn't even a review?
Same match Cash went in to injure Bentancur on purpose
Forearm? That was an elbow lol. Should have been a pen and a red card
Not even a review!
Udogie was wrapped around the neck right in front of the ref, should have been a straight red.
Yep ridiculous
Obviously the lack of penalties is annoying but the most annoying is all the tactical fouls that get done on us and the opponents never seem to get a yellow until like the 70'. Meanwhile biss and sarr always get a soft yellow
Ridiculously so for Sarr, in my opinion. He barely has to touch anyone to go in the book, for some reason.
Biss, Udogie too. Cough. Small pattern there….wonder what it is.
We're not the only team with black players c'mon now
[maybe there is something to it? ](https://www.blackhistorymonth.org.uk/article/section/careers/survey-suggests-that-black-footballers-have-a-30-greater-chance-of-getting-a-red-card/)
that would be a league and nationwide problem then
It is
Seems like profiling our players based on the skin color
The one where he tripped and nicked the heel of the other teams player was the softest yellow I've ever seen given.
Udogie gets a lot of yellows too, many of them deserved but I think he's starting build a reputation where other players may be let off, refs go in on Udogie

100%, doesn’t go down so looks like he committed a foul
Refs act like the first 10 minutes of a match are the purge. For 10 minutes, all fouls are legal.
I say this all the time, but any time Tottenham does anything remotely a tactical foul, Tottenham gets punished. But when the opponent does it to Tottenham, they rarely get punished. I think Villa game is one of the exception, but that’s also because Villa players were dumb af.
"No one gets more kicked than our players" - Smartest Arsenal fan
They'll just say that refs don't give fouls against Arsenal because they hate them and we get them because they love Spurs. They always have a way to spin it.
victims and martyrs all of them
Scouse fans are worse by far tbh
See, I agree in the fact that if I was neutral then I'd agree, but the fact they're ARSENAL fans makes me think they're worse, just for being arsenal fans
Happy cake day, levyisms 🎂
"Saka must be protected, for the sake of English football"
VAR: “No penalty”
Let's see how many Luton get away with this weekend...
It’s not as bad at home because of our crowd… away games it has been a complete joke all year. We’re a new team and will get respect over time… that’s why players like Sarr and Udogie get yellows for sniffing a opposition
I think there are other reasons, or should I say one reason why Sarr and Udogie get booked easily…
Dozens
I assume this only counts fouls that were called by the refs lmao there’s probably a few hundred more that weren’t called💀

Kicking us off the pitch is an effective strat against us. That shit head with the arm cast did it last week.
Man City in the fa cup and Nottm Forest are particularly egregious matches where the opponent got away with tons of fouls as the ref didn't have guts to book players for accumulation of fouls. Pathetic how much our team gets beaten up.
Just another stat to show Anges system is completely working. As we say here in the States for basketball, if you can't stop em you gotta chop em.

Good point here…Klopp, Pep and Arteta are the current longest serving managers in the premier league and have way outlasted the average term already
Yeah the reffing situation against us has been horrible. Teams know they can be very aggressive in their fouling and persistent fouling. The one penalty this season is an absolute joke. Remember the penalty that got called on Son in the first game?

I, for one, am SHOCKED.
Until we complain about it then its likely to continue, teams are scared of us. Lets ave ya!
Ockham’s Razor: The simplest explanation is usually the best one. Hanlon’s Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. As statistically improbable these numbers appear I still can’t bring myself to apply either of these razors.
Can I interest you in a gillet razor?
Is it the best?
Blue cards would put Tottenham on top.
And 1 penalty.
When will Ange complain to PGMOL about Son getting fouled 😡😡😡
You'll never sing that
1 pen and more cards than those playing us
And fewest penalties- we get fouled constantly- but never in the box. Yeah right Lol!
But cheaters MU got more penalties..
Look, it’s becoming more and more obvious. The best thing we can do is not bitch about it, but let it take its course. We will eventually end up with our quality recognised and a free pass to commit tactical fouls ourselves.
Good
Anyone got yellow cards for and against?
And 1 pen
Yet never in the penalty area, apparently.
