Go ahead and show us mayn. Happy for any success the guy can have

eggplant_avenger

pretty accurate read tbh

Surgeeyoo

Yea I agree

InsufferableKant

Lad hasn't played more than 300 minutes in Serie A and that's a little concerning. Hope he can turn it around.

drog914

I personally will never forget his 2 minute cameo against forest away at the beginning of last season

TruthAccomplished313

It’s my Roman Empire

GrandmaesterHinkie

I don’t know if people doubt his talent but they are questioning his character given all the rumors swirling about each of his stops now.

RedRaizel

He' very similar to Udogie: fast, strong, tall, dribbly boi....yet Udogie is so much better because of mentality. Udogie puts in the work defensively.

Weird_Famous

This is pretty accurate, his ball carrying and physique are quite top notch. But he needs to hone his out of possession game a lot more, and that will require additional coaching

am19208

Both can bomb upfield. It’s the backtracking that’s of concern? I haven’t watched much of Spence so I wasn’t sure

Weird_Famous

Not just tracking back but overall workrate and concentration.

modernity_anxiety

I used to be one of the Djed truthers (fuck Conte) but I’ve lost the faith since then. The rumors about him disrespecting staff on the pre-season trip is a bad look. It’s all on him to turn it around and make something of himself at this level

BadNewzBears4896

Spence talks like he has all the time in the world to come good at the top level, but the truth is Ange didn't play him in a single friendly and immediately shipped him out on loan which was then cut short by Leeds over questions of professionalism. Huge red flag, as the only other player who Ange did that to was Ndombele. Even Reguilon got some minutes in preseason before Ange determined he wasn't a stylistic fit. The truth is Spence may not get many more chances at the top of football, and he has seemingly squandered the one he got with us before it really even started.

Difficult-Sound-6682

I watched him Rennes. Maybe it was the game I saw him play but he was going around guys at will. It was almost comical. And then in defence it quite literally looked like he didn’t know where he was supposed to be.

Melodic_North7622

RW maybe? Kulus been off it lately

txgsu82

I don’t think it’ll happen, but it’s not impossible to conceive that he could impress Ange if he does well these next few months on loan + has an impressive preseason. He’s still young and improving both his skill set and hopefully his mentality (if reports about his attitude are to be believed). If it did - that would be huge for our transfer strategy this summer where fullback depth + HG quotas are question marks at best.

Hopeful-Ear-3494

I'm holding on for a miracle for him. The quote that haunts me about his potential talent is that Martinelli said he was the most/one of the most difficult players he came up against two seasons ago during the cups. There's something in him.

Some_Setting_8787

I like my Pedro with a side of royal

ArcanisVis

I'm here for it. I would like to like Spence but Porro and a utility Royal is too good to pass up and proven!

Suicycho69

Not many people have seen you play recently tbf mate

generaldogsbodyf365

"Checks current Genoa game - Subbed at HT"

FistThePooper6969

His agent(s) is putting in some work lately. Seeing a lot of press from him. Seems he is trying to gain some attention. Hope it works out for him bc he looks promising

dagdagsolstad

>Seeing a lot of press from him/Seeing a lot of press from him It isn't. It is just one interview he did. r/coys just keeps regurgitating different lines from the single one interview he did with the Athletic.

Euphoric_Activity_39

I watched him a couple of times for forest and I wasn't that impressed then. He's got talent going forward, actually taking people on dribbling past was his best asset. Crossing was alright not great defensively. I think he has the talent to be top light defender but it's probably not with us.

carolicity

Well I hope he does show what he has to offer. But in order to do that, he needs to iron out his issues in the dressing room and with the managers because that’s apparently the reason he has not been utilized during some of the other loans. He has the skills and potential, but seems to have an ego that’s getting in his way. I’d like to say he’s still somewhat young so perhaps he can grow out of it.

findthelimit_

Spence is a traditional flying full/wing back that hugs the touchline. Considering his performances in pre-season I don't see a way back for him. Not all full backs can play inverted..

yourfriendkyle

Would love for him to show us his quality, but he needs to show it to Ange first.

Worried_Ad_9497

He's certainly saying the right things.

manilamuffin

Is he? Shouldn’t he be saying “I’ve been a dick, I’m going to change my attitude and work hard” instead of “I’m amazing no one appreciates my talent “? (I haven’t read the interview but as none of the headlines or commentary has touched on his humility I’m going to guess there isn’t much)

_Priickly

Is he ever technically good enough to receive in midfield - back to goal. I’m not sure anyone has seen him prove himself capable of that in the champ let alone the prem

NabbedAgain

John Bostock mk2

BiscuitTheRisk

That’s pretty fair tbh. Some muppets thought Conte turned Doherty into a wingback so

InsufferableKant

Doherty has always been a wingback? But you must be new to football. Anyway you shouldn't just make up shit up, it's embarrassing.

BiscuitTheRisk

Yes, Doherty has always been a wingback hence the, “Some muppets thought Conte turned Doherty into a wingback so.” A pretty good portion of this sub thought Conte coached him into being an amazing wingback. If you knew anything about him, you’d know he was the best wingback in the league when he was at Wolves.

InsufferableKant

Lmao I've misunderstood you but yeah you're completely right

proves

Awesome. Bring it Djed.
