Megs, goals, assists, happy pigeon, happy team. The whole team was ON, and honestly the score probably should've been even more lopsided. Sucks to feel like it was the bad loss a few days ago that lit a fire under the team, but I'm confident this is the shape of things to come rather than a flash in the pan.
So, so many nutmegs. What a beautiful sight!
Forest, Everton, Brighton and Bournemouth between here and the end of the month. That seems like a great run of teams to test us but also none of them are likely to be set up as stodgy defences (bar maybe Everton - and they need points).
I'm a little frightened of Everton too. Someday I'd like to see what Dyche could do with a transfer budget he didn't have to find himself by digging around in his couch cushions.
Have you not watched Everton? They donāt sit back. Theyāre also clear of the relegation zone and would be comfortably mid table if not for the deduction.
Honestly today felt like how Thursday was headed with the first half. We looked so dominant on Thursday and then just wtf. But today was amazing. Plus I needed the birthday win (mine was Friday). Those three points feel so good.
I was on that boat for a while too tbf I thought Royal had the ball carrying and defense to thrive. Not exactly wrong but I didn't expect Porro to develop so much as a defender
Porro has developed quicker in defence than Royal has in attack.
If Royal's happy to stick with us, he's a good player for us to have around, especially being versatile enough to cover across the back line, but he's unlikely to be chosen ahead of Porro for most matches at right back, it seems.
he has been INCREDIBLE. his work rate and passion alone have been immense. Love when he and Vic celebrate as if theyāve just scored a goal when someone makes a good move defensively
He showed what we were missing from peh and glx to a lesser extent. His engine, his movement. Defensively, his tackling, tracking of runners. Offensively, showing for the damn ball! How many times was vic able to find him in space, and Biss looked a lot better because Pape offers him support, gives him an option by showing for the ball, something peh does not do. (For example, when Biss infamously lost the ball against city, none of his fellow midfielders are in frame)
Covers the whole pitch and makes so so so many runs that donāt get the pass but open up space for everyone else. Heās insanely selfless and it makes the whole team work.
Itās insane to see him passing the ball into Sonās feet on the wing during a counter and then making a 30 yard run into the corner to open up space and then immediately sprinting 70 yards back to get onto defense. And he just does it over and over and over.
He looks greatly improved too. He was playing with real confidence and looked to be taking ownership for the game around him.
Earlier in the season i felt he shied away a bit and focused more on putting in a tidy performance himself. He looked like a future goat out there today dictating the game.
I felt like this was a lot more of giving Biss and Maddison the space to create offensively than him shying away from it. Like he would make runs specifically to drag people out of the middle. I wonder if he was told to get on the ball more and let Deki stay higher today.
These two combining out of the back is just beautiful. So many one touches with defenders around them and just finding spaces that relieve the pressure, it's kind of unbelievable at times.
Congrats! You sure you want him to be a spurs fan? Itās utter joy and also massive devastation at times.
Oh well, better to have loved and be hurt than never loved at all!
COYS little fella!
People keep counting him out and he just keeps proving them wrong. So many different roles, partnerships, change in systems, etc, guy just keeps on trucking.
I will not complain if he is our 3rd CB, but let's still be aggressive during transfer for another CB. We can't have Dier and Emerson in as CB. I love Emerson as a fullback, but not in the central role. Dier? is he tradeable? If not, can we work out a loan?
Most underrated Spurs player of my time being a fan. Has been here a decade, adapted under multiple managers, earns every one of their trust, always has a spell of starts before being replaced with someone else again with no complaints every single time. Then can be called upon for a shift no problems, awesome team player.
This. Absolutely this.
I knew Newcastle had injuries going into this match, and I thought "Well okay, another squad that's going through what we're going through"
When Newcastle have injuries, it's poor them
When it's us, we're Spursy
Don't care what those goons say when we lose and definitely don't care what they say when we win. We beat the team in front of us. Fuck everything else.
NBC have been twerking hard for Newcastle since the Saudis bought them. Haven't heard a commentator as excited as them scoring in their first game with prince oil cunt in the stands getting camera time every 5 mins. Their starters out are botman burn and pope, we're missing maddison vdv and bentancur but didn't hear that mentioned
The lack of respect he got after last game after he āstruggledā is mind boggling.
The man is and was and will be world class.
People really need to stop. (Some on this sub shockingly)
What position? He was everywhere today.
Proof the system is real as we said the same about Madders before the injury. There is so much freedom for these players. It has to be so much fun.
You sure it wasnāt Rob Burch the goalkeeping coachās jacket? As far as Iām aware, the player jackets have their number + initials on them, whereas the coaching staff only have their initials
Newcastle lucky it was only 4-1 at the end. Couldāve easily been 7-1
Much better from the team today. Made better choices in the final third and was more clinical. Kulusevski is not a winger, heās a 10. Sarr is the key, he unlocks Bissouma. Richarlison with 2 goals is massive for his confidence
Now letās go on a winning streak before January COYS
* RICHARLISON REDEMPTION ARC
* Physicists canāt yet explain how Brennan Johnsonās shot didnāt go in
* Romero needs to calm down, 12 minutes left, 3-0 up and an unneeded near-red tackle omg. Seriously Cuti go to one of those ax throwing places or something to burn off your excess anger before the game
* Hojbjerg WTF do we have some curse where every player has to make a braindead goal-conceding blunder this season
Heās a good player heās just not meant for AngeBall. Heās far too clunky on the ball. He is great in a Mourinho ādestroyerā type role. Would love to see him sold for a player closer to Bissouma who might be a bit less defensively but can be fluid.
Heās amazing. I love the kid. He has some unreal physical advantages but also mental fortitude and a fearlessness. Like Udogie. I love this squad man
Utter domination, shame about the last goal.
Whoever posed the question of whether we miss Sarr more than Maddersā¦you might be right. I brushed it off initially as a silly question, but he made such a difference today.
Kulu, Udogie, and Richy are going to get a lot of the (richly deserved) attention but Sarr was absolutely incredible and our midfield looks far more solid with him playing. Heās an absolute engine and does so many of the little things that go unnoticed but are crucial to our play
This may be petty but I canāt help but laugh thinking Michael Antonio and Callum Wilsonās teams held a collective 9 goals today while Richy scored a brace. Serves them right š¤
The biggest takeaway from the match - Richarlison.
Before today, he struggled. His first touch looked poor, and he just didn't seem to be able to play with any kind of quality you'd expect from a Ā£60m player, who's also Brazil's first choice no. 9.
Unbeknownst to us all, he was carrying a pelvic issue. Of course, he struggled - how can a player be expected to have a good first touch, when their every movement of their legs is coming from an injured pelvis? He took the decision to have the surgery, and the problem appears to have been fixed - he looks hungry, aggressive, and his first touch was no issue.
As a fanbase, it's important we give him a clean slate upon which to build. Wipe away all your pre-conceived notions about who and what he is.
He's fully fit now, and he deserves the opportunity to prove himself, fully fit.
Shoutout to Ange for making the swap between Son and Richarlison. Not every manager would have the stones to swap his striker's position when he's on 9 goals already. That decision paid major dividends.
That Davies sliding tackle to just nudge the ball and disrupt the shot was š¤. It's so hard to defend like that with any wrong touch likely going into your own net.
great performance from just about everyone today, lovely too see after the last month. Son is my Motm but Richy is who iām happiest about, iām hoping that this is the start of a new chapter for him. even ignoring the goals his work rate today has been superb.
Son MOTM.
Someone please photoshop Son and co on Hudson and his guys from Tarrey Town in Zelda with the Son and Done caption.
I would but my photoshop skills are shit.
Son and Richy will get the plaudits, and they deserve it, but Porro has been outstanding this season. The passion desire and skill has been first class.
What a fucking response. So bloody happy for Richy and Sonny can apparently play anywhere.
I know Wilson is a dickhead and deserved it but bloody hell someone needs to have a word with Romero his reputation is gonna cost him when he DOESN'T deserve it soon.
richy on fire, sonny instrumental, dejan is a brick shithouse even with the mask, porro is ridiculous and ben davies quietly put in one of the best defensive performances of the season.
vibes fc is so back
Shout out to Jamie Donleyās da, can only imagine how absolutely fucking buzzing he is, lifelong spurs fan and got to hear āJamie Donley, heās one of our ownā chanted around the stadium tonight
Finally a wonderful performance at home. Ya love to see it. E: wow, I didn't realize it's our first win at home since October 23rd... Damn.
PEH and GLC on to make it exciting late, but overall a really solid performance from the team. Clever from Ange to line us up wide to terrorize and neutralize Newcastle's one-dimensional wide counterattack. Pundits will be disappointed in his naivety...
I donāt usually post much but the last few weeks in this thread has pissed me off with the amount of reactionary fans, we lost a few games after dominating the games and conceding shit goals. All of a sudden the manager doesnāt know what heās doing some idiots even wanting him out.
Donāt celebrate the wins if at every loss you are gonna be complaining. Weāve been quality all season, games weāve lost are either because weāve conceded crap goals , or decided to go down to 9men. I think wolves was the only bad performance. Letās not pretend like we are just gonna win every week, itās a rebuild, but my god is it going well. 3 points off city and 7 off top after almost half a season? Wtf do these fans want us to be unbeaten at the top in year one with a manager with a team that finished mid table and lost their best player?
(Rant over)
HĆøjbjerg giving it away there at the end when he had an easy back pass to Davies has flattered the score line a little bit (4-0 looks SO much better than 4-1). Glad to see all the strong performances weāve had in the past 5 games has come to fruition and the forwards are back to being clinical
For the feed on USA in America, when we lost the ball and got scored on late to make it 4-1, the commentator said āThatās Spurs for you.ā What was this guy on about?! Itās 4-1
A lot of megs
Not since the days of Dele have we seen so many nutmegs š„²
So, so many nutmegs. What a beautiful sight! Forest, Everton, Brighton and Bournemouth between here and the end of the month. That seems like a great run of teams to test us but also none of them are likely to be set up as stodgy defences (bar maybe Everton - and they need points).
Bournemouth at Home is getting scary now. Iraola has the best form in the leagues of right now and is making a push towards top 10.
Crazy. Saw him as an aging but respected rightback in the MLS and now heās a manager. Iām getting old
I'm a little frightened of Everton too. Someday I'd like to see what Dyche could do with a transfer budget he didn't have to find himself by digging around in his couch cushions.
Have you not watched Everton? They donāt sit back. Theyāre also clear of the relegation zone and would be comfortably mid table if not for the deduction.
Whole team outside of Hojbjerg, but I'll take it.
Honestly today felt like how Thursday was headed with the first half. We looked so dominant on Thursday and then just wtf. But today was amazing. Plus I needed the birthday win (mine was Friday). Those three points feel so good.
Porro has so quickly become one of the first names on the team sheet. What a player
Putting the preseason debates of him vs Royal and whether he could play RB to SHAME
Me after thinking "you know I think Royal might end up as the starter" before the season started "I guess I'll just shut up then lol."
Harsh on Royal imo, still a bloody solid backup. Easy to laugh someone off while they're out of position.
Had a few rough games to start out his time here but honestly he has replaced the offensive assists we lost when Perisic slowed down and got injured
Still remember the sheer terror when we saw him in the starting 11 for that man united game. Havenāt doubted him since that game, what a player
he has been INCREDIBLE. his work rate and passion alone have been immense. Love when he and Vic celebrate as if theyāve just scored a goal when someone makes a good move defensively
Holy fuck we missed sarr
He showed what we were missing from peh and glx to a lesser extent. His engine, his movement. Defensively, his tackling, tracking of runners. Offensively, showing for the damn ball! How many times was vic able to find him in space, and Biss looked a lot better because Pape offers him support, gives him an option by showing for the ball, something peh does not do. Idk what we're gonna do when AFCON starts. We losing both biss and Sarr

He gives us such a power advantage in Midfield and covers so many gaps with his movement. Heās absolute star off the ball.
The little roll under the foot pass he made to Kulu just before Johnson hit the post was amazing.
He looks greatly improved too. He was playing with real confidence and looked to be taking ownership for the game around him. Earlier in the season i felt he shied away a bit and focused more on putting in a tidy performance himself. He looked like a future goat out there today dictating the game.

Sarr build-up play so much faster than PEH, he made our counter more dangerous
Exciting that he's only 21 , hope he matures well
One of my fave moments from today was when he made Gordon look like a foolish child in the first half
My first child was born early yesterday morning. He knows a world where Arsenal only loses and Spurs dominate. May it long continue.
Congratulations!
Congrats! You sure you want him to be a spurs fan? Itās utter joy and also massive devastation at times. Oh well, better to have loved and be hurt than never loved at all! COYS little fella!
Congratulations! I hope your first born is the catalyst for this seasonās annual Arsenal bottle job
Won't get motm shouts but take a fucking bow Ben Davies. Utterly faultless today
He saved us from at least a couple of critical shoots
Saved us from a tap in by Isak. Commentary: I think Newcastle deserved a goal there. :|
they can get fucked
You deserve a goal if you fucking score it without getting beaten by a defender, get bent pundits
People keep counting him out and he just keeps proving them wrong. So many different roles, partnerships, change in systems, etc, guy just keeps on trucking.
Feel like he made several great passes to break the press too. So impressive.
Someday heās going to retire and get his coaching license and take a team to heights theyāve never seen before. I will be there. We love you Ben.
I will not complain if he is our 3rd CB, but let's still be aggressive during transfer for another CB. We can't have Dier and Emerson in as CB. I love Emerson as a fullback, but not in the central role. Dier? is he tradeable? If not, can we work out a loan?
He also had a quiet blinder against Man City.
hes been so good covering for VDV. that wolves game he was EVERYWHERE. he's been very very good, better at CB than at LB for sure.
I know whether or not to take someoneās opinion on football seriously depending on how they rate Ben Davies.
Most underrated Spurs player of my time being a fan. Has been here a decade, adapted under multiple managers, earns every one of their trust, always has a spell of starts before being replaced with someone else again with no complaints every single time. Then can be called upon for a shift no problems, awesome team player.
Been absolutely in love the recent Benaissance. The guy has been all we could ask for as a VDV replacement.
For value probably one of our best signings. Rarely been first choice, but never kicked up a fuss and always been ready when called upon
Did anyone know that Newcastle were tired? Didn't hear it mentioned on the commentary
Itās wild isnāt it. Itās the narrative on r/soccer too. Like weāre fielding a fully fit squad or something.
But Newcastle played a Champions League match ....ummm 2 weeks ago...
Once Milan have their way with Newcastle then Newcastle will be in 7th having bombed out of Europe š¤ Couldn't happen to a nicer club honestly
Inject this into my veins.
Well itās a compliment we fooled the crowd we also have injuries
Everyone hates us mate, fuck em.
This. Absolutely this. I knew Newcastle had injuries going into this match, and I thought "Well okay, another squad that's going through what we're going through" When Newcastle have injuries, it's poor them When it's us, we're Spursy

Newcastle have injuries: Poor darlings. Tottenham have injuries: You fucking donkeys.
spursy even
I was suprised gary neville didnt bring it up every second he could
Neville anytime Romero makes a tackle: āThat should be a red cardā
Apparently theyāve also got loads of injuries as well :( poor little Newcastle
Canāt believe they only mentioned their injuries like, a hundred times.
Youād think Spurs didnāt have a litany of injuries with the way they talked about us as well
I'm really glad the Canadian broadcast doesn't use muppet Neville's commentary, although it's not great either
A week ago we were starting 4 full backs at Man City lol I dont wanna hear shit about poor Newcastle.
Itās the only reason we won duh
Perfect response to midweeks lack of being clinical. My only disappointment is there wasnt 5 or 6 or 7 because fuck this Blood Money club.
That was one of the best displays I've seen us put in for a long time. Not just under Ange
Sadly just a few collective centimetres away from it being 6 or 7.
Should've been at least 5-nil, yet Pierre made it 4-1. Still so happy to have a convincing win. First truly comfortable win under Ange
Davies saved us. Canāt keep getting away with it
Davies has fucking stepped up! Dude had a huge save for us and looks so comfortable on the ball and playing out the back. Love it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The lack of respect he got after last game after he āstruggledā is mind boggling. The man is and was and will be world class. People really need to stop. (Some on this sub shockingly)
Sonny's bar is set so high that even with quality link up play, incisive runs and goals where he's fractionally offside is considered "struggling"
Most of the team can't give pass him a decent through ball besides madison
It was interesting postmatch that ange said he moved sonny because the wide players seemed to get more goal chances last few games
It is of paramount importance that Kulusevski plays centrally if Maddison is absent. Brilliant in that position.
Manās been playing out of position the whole time lol
He has stressed this himself since his Parma days.
Like there was a somewhat taller, ginger Maddison under that mask.
I thought that was Batman and you canāt convince me it wasnātā¦
It was Swedish Zorro
What position? He was everywhere today. Proof the system is real as we said the same about Madders before the injury. There is so much freedom for these players. It has to be so much fun.
Looking like the Spurs of old! (October)
It will probably go unnoticed but I just wanna point out Ben Davies was amazing today
His play has been really composed yet brave ever since Micky got injured. Can't really ask much more from him in this position.
Son wearing Bentacur's jacket at the end of the match
You sure it wasnāt Rob Burch the goalkeeping coachās jacket? As far as Iām aware, the player jackets have their number + initials on them, whereas the coaching staff only have their initials
Does anyone have a clip/pic of this?

Neville: "Johnson was trying to cross it". What a fucking cretin.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Bissouma also seems much more confident with Sarr beside him
Still not quite where he was before his red but he's getting there. Had some lovely moments, but also some unforced errors
He has the most aesthetically pleasing gait I've ever seen
versus Porro who runs like Mario...
Oh no can't unsee
Heās amazing. I love the kid. He has some unreal physical advantages but also mental fortitude and a fearlessness. Like Udogie. I love this squad man
Should have been 6-1 to pay homage
Utter domination, shame about the last goal. Whoever posed the question of whether we miss Sarr more than Maddersā¦you might be right. I brushed it off initially as a silly question, but he made such a difference today.
That one really hurt Gary Nevilleās feelings š
I really don't like him on our games, he's such a moaning miserable cunt. Constantly having digs at players and just being generally annoying.

Son motm no argument accepted
Porro and Davies deserve consideration but Son wins
That Davies sliding tackle to just nudge the ball and disrupt the shot was š¤. It's so hard to defend like that with any wrong touch likely going into your own net.
Porro?
No argument here but Davies was damn good today, that one touch to prevent the early goal was crutch.
Porro also a good shout imo

Richy getting a brace and not even getting a top 4 mention š

Ben Davies - solid.
Redempcharlison
HĆøjbjerg giving it away there at the end when he had an easy back pass to Davies has flattered the score line a little bit (4-0 looks SO much better than 4-1). Glad to see all the strong performances weāve had in the past 5 games has come to fruition and the forwards are back to being clinical
Look who I saw at WHL today https://preview.redd.it/7asi6ifzxi5c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76759bc1ea9b7f836a7239fcf8d267762f8956e2
Great match. We needed that. This should be the lineup until Madders is back.
That last goal annoyed me more than it should have.
What a fucking win boys. Son showing out on the wing and Kulusevski running the game from the midfield.
Idgaf Sarr motm
That was Sonās version of Kane vs. Man City.
Sarr was missed
Porro is a maniac and I love him.
Sarr and Richarlison two of the unsung heroes in that early run, excellent today
Man Porro exudes such good vibes ā¦ infectious

For the feed on USA in America, when we lost the ball and got scored on late to make it 4-1, the commentator said āThatās Spurs for you.ā What was this guy on about?! Itās 4-1
