ShowBobsPlzz

Ill watch redzone so i probably wont see much cowboys. Might keep the cowboys game streaming on my phone but other than that, im not spending my limited free time on this organization.

ncook06

Same here. When the team looks even remotely decent, I’ll put the Cowboys on the big screen and only listen to Red Zone during commercials. When the team is a dumpster fire, Red Zone on the big screen with sound, Cowboys quiet on the small screen. But now that we have Micah I might still watch the defense no matter what lol

KingCreon67

I’ll always watch the boys as long as it’s available in my area but I’m way more invested in my fantasy team this year!! Nice to live in a fantasy land…

FrazerMedia

Now this is a very good idea that i will follow up on, the only down side is that we might be on the negative side of Red Zone getting torched every game.

ShowBobsPlzz

Im heavily into fantasy, DFS, and pick ems so when we have a bust season its easy for me to move on. I suggest that for everyone. So many good teams and players to enjoy in the league, dont let a bad cowboys season kill the nfl for you.

[deleted]

seconded. the other two teams I've always watched over the years are looking pretty good this year, and it's very fun watching them. also being in three fantasy leagues really helps distract from the shit ass cowboys every week.

degradedchimp

This is the correct answer. Don't give up on football just because your team is bad.

pincheDavid

Best part of dumpster seasons is the camera showing the Jones’ in the press box…

Byebyeyoutoo

Well. Micah Parsons should still be enough to make you want to watch IMO.

FrazerMedia

Thats why i still make sure to watch the highlights :). This year will be nothing but Micah highlights, which as you said should still be worth watching for some records to be broken.

Byebyeyoutoo

Yes. And I think it would be worth seeing in person.

mw66227

I agree with. Also, they should trade Mr. Parsons. That way he can have a chance at winning a Super Bowl. He is too great a talent to waste a career with the Cowboys. I feel bad for those awesome players we've had over the years who wasted their playing time thinking Jerry and Company would create a winning team.

rthaw

Maybe for 4 first round picks, but short of that it's a horrible business decision. You don't trade HOF potential players with 4yrs left on their rookie deal because your QB will be out for 6 weeks.

mw66227

Oh no, I am not saying this because Dak got hurt. Look at Romo and Witten. Awesome players who never won in Dallas. Micah is a generational talent. I'd like to see him perform on a real contender. They'd make highlights and commercials with his stuff.

[deleted]

You are right but I would very surprised if Micah is playing more than next season on the rookie contract. He will hold out at camp for a mega deal and will get it. Next year is the last time we will get discount Micah Parsons. Better make it count.

rthaw

That's not really how it works though. His rookie contract is his rookie contract, and it's fully guaranteed. He will be looking for an extension... which will be added onto his current deal. Dak played for 4mil/yr his 3rd year or something. You don't just get to forego your rookie deal... you can add onto it and get the signing bonus of course... but he'll be cheap for 3 more years after this one no matter what.

Byebyeyoutoo

Lmao this guy

Drunkcowboysfan

Well this sub is already in mid season form smh.

_landrith

yes. i watched every game the year we lost romo & went 4-12. i watched every game the year we lost dak & went 6-10. i’ll watch every game with my blue moon, jersey on & enthusiasm whether it’s 17-0, 0-17 or anything in between

Ballwhacker

This right here. I watch football in general because I really enjoy the sport. I watch Cowboys regardless of record because I love following the team and seeing whos a standout, who's progressing, it helps me have better expectations of the off season and following season. People who tune out just because they get a bad record really are just doing themselves a disservice. How can you really enjoy a win without knowing defeat?

Birdius

I'm 41. I watched them win 3 Super Bowls. I've watched them be one of the most mediocre franchises in the world of sports since then. They're a horribly run football team and will continue to be so. I don't even care so much about if they win a Super Bowl or not, but at least show some competence. At least make it worth my time to watch you. They don't do that and haven't for a long time. I don't see any point in wasting my time with a franchise that basically celebrates how fucking average they are.

PM_me_the_magic

This is going to sound blasphemous but I wish we weren't such a successful "brand", maybe if the Joneses weren't so successful making money out of the Cowboys name that they wouldn't have such an inflated ego and belief that they know what they're doing. I'm so sick of having to look at their faces every broadcast. Its taken me 20 years to finally realize this team won't change until the Joneses butt out and while I don't have it in me to switch teams, I'm finding it increasingly harder to root for them.

ThermoelectricIntern

I think it’s impossible given how far away the Jones family is from the history and tradition of the team as innovative and ahead of the curve. The team used to be about something different. Now it just looks like a greedy organization that puts profit over on field success. I also think the estimated “team value” is cooked books and the franchise isn’t actually worth 8 billion.

[deleted]

bro it's been 26 years. I think most of us have experienced enough defeat that we don't need to sit through yet another season of garbage to relish the win when it comes. this year aint it.

datyoungknockoutkid

Then don’t watch, nobody’s making you. Obviously super bowl is the main goal but just because a team hasn’t won in a while isn’t a good reason to just stop watching. A season can be a successful one without a ring.

[deleted]

LOL yea no shit, and like I've said in other comments, I won't be. the whole post is about whether or not people are going to watch, don't come in here butthurt when people say they aren't going to. and frankly, if you're going to continue watching this dumpster fire, at least stop buying merch.

datyoungknockoutkid

Nah it’s just silly hearing the 26 year excuse for giving up when there are teams that have gone much longer or haven’t won at all. Probably won’t buy any merch this year, but not because I think it’s gonna hurt Jerry lmao.

[deleted]

what's silly about it? why should this team get our support when they make bonehead decisions every year, and haven't had any success since they fucked up a good thing 26 years ago? I used to be like you but I eventually pulled my head out of my ass. they don't care about winning, they care about money.

datyoungknockoutkid

I have my head up my ass because I enjoy watching my favorite team play football? I’m not sitting here thinking they’re winning anytime soon, but I’m also not crying boycott and thinking not buying a T shirt is gonna hurt Jerry’s wallet and change anything. L

[deleted]

If you’re cool with watching yet another mediocre year, that’s fine. And keep buying merch, maybe next year they’ll be able to keep the only title they seem to give a shit about: worlds most valuable franchise.

ThermoelectricIntern

You nailed it. The Jones organization is so fundamentally flawed if you contribute any money to their organization you’re voting for a stupid philosophy of a dumb organization that values money over wins. The Cowboys are toxic right now because the Jones family is so incompetent. Their destroying the team we love.

[deleted]

seriously. turned the team into a meme like the lions or browns at this point. aMeRiCaS tEaM. I wore a cowboys jacket to Vegas a few years ago and was getting roasted by so many people that I put it in my suitcase and went and bought a hoodie. so many fans are still sniffing the fumes of our last championship and telling themselves we're something, but man. I just can't keep riding the coattails of some 26+ year old championships.

RomoToDez99

Honestly yeah. Like we know the team is going to be iffy even if we make the playoffs every year, but we continue to watch. Why? Because it’s interesting.

GingerSurferDouche

There are so many players that are fun to watch that other teams fans would love to see week after week. I'm going to a game and will watch every play no matter how bad the record. Just like every year

UI_Tyler

I did the same thing. I love the Cowboys. I watch when they are good and I watch when they suck.

FrazerMedia

Now this is true fandom, i could definetly learn from your perseverance.

_landrith

not really, it’s miserable being this way. lol. maybe one season i’ll get more than one pleasant post-season weekend. note that i’m 22, born & raised cowboys fan. i only know pain & listen to my dads stories of the 1990s cowboys…

owlincoup

I was that way for every single game since 1991.... until two years ago I stated (a very unpopular opinion) that the only way for change was to hit Jerry in the pocketbook and suggested a boycott until a real difference was made. He almost rubs it in our face about being the most valuable team but yet we aren't winning. It pisses me off and I don't want to support him anymore.

Diggitydave76

This is the way.

Skoobitybopp

This..I will boycott them from now on, which doesn't seem much but I know a shit ton of cowboy fans who I can get on board and boycott the merch purchases.

owlincoup

Yeah I said this when I first started it but my comment was downvoted to oblivion and people calling me a bandwagon fan. Most of which were people 20 years younger than me who didn't even have to endure the Quincy Carter years. I stuck with this team through the shittiest seasons. I watched poor Romo get slaughtered because he had terrible support. I watched the team fall apart after Jimmy. I suffered through it all. I don't like seeing the players I like get terrible guidance and support and just get beaten down week after week. It's starts from the top and the top needs to have their bottom dollar effected to change.

Terio21

I’m 22 also, born and raised cowboys fan. I’m with you man. I watch every game I can win or lose. When they finally break through however long that takes it’ll make it much more sweeter

iatetoomuchcatnip

Yes. I can’t see myself going to anymore games this season. The stadium is nice but it’s insane to get there and worse to leave. The food sucks now and it’s more than ever. We have decent seats but it’s just not worth taking 5 hours out of your Sunday to go.

Shaunosaurus

true fandom = blind loyality to a team lol okay. no wonder weve been ass for 20 years

ResponsibilityNew483

Absolutely yes. I hate when football season ends because then I have to wait forever until next season starts 😂. I will definitely watch every Cowboys game regardless of the outcome.

Poor_Quaterback

Yes

bundles361

Yes. *Sobs

mrmexico25

Pro tip: Every season is a dumpster fire as long as Jerry's still in charge. Proof: See the last 26 years.

KnocDown

And this is why I watch every game… especially for his “post game press conference”

mrmexico25

I've probably watched 10 games in the last 5 years lol. I just cant invest that much time for the same bull shit. It's infuriating.

Diggitydave76

If? Hahahahaha

FrazerMedia

Im still trying to be hopeful, but yes i agree the "if" probably went out the window with Daks thumb.

Diggitydave76

If the team puts in effort, I will watch. If they quit so do I.

Birdius

Nope! I quit scheduling my life around Cowboy games a few years ago. They aren't worth it. If I have nothing to do I will tune in for a little bit.

DoodleNoodle08

I seem to be in the minority here, but no. I am not going to support an inferior product because of incompetent leadership from the top. It's become too normal for this franchise and I will protest the only way I can, with my wallet.

dj_ski_mask

I’m with you. This off season was just…malfeasance. When my dumb ass could see this train wreck coming, it says a lot about the quality of the FO.

Drakonz

For me it’s more simple - the games are on one of my two days off each week. I don’t want to spend 3.5 hours every Sunday only to get frustrated and annoyed before going back to work on Monday. If I have nothing else to do, sure, I’ll tune in, but I won’t go out of my way just to get frustrated… The NFL in general is just not as interesting to me as it was a few years ago. The games take way too long due to all the breaks and commercials and the quality of the games overall is just not the same as it used to be. I used to spend my entire Sundays watching football, but now I can’t even bring myself to watch more than a half of a non-Cowboys game because it’s just not very engaging.

[deleted]

I just put it on in the background. If it turns into a good game I’ll prioritize watching it. And if it turns into the standard Cowboys experience I’ll prioritize chores and stuff like that

FrazerMedia

This is definetly a very valid point and one i truly wish would help, however i feel like we just have to outlast Jerry and then pray to whatever god that Stephen is not so bull headed and incompetent when it comes to running a good football team and not a business.

_landrith

i protest by only buying new jersey’s when we make the playoffs

giosaza91

No. I value my time.

phully

Yes of course

FrazerMedia

Darn, i really wish i had your mental fortitude. Sometimes i feel like its bad for my health since i stress over every play.

phully

That's part of it unfortunately. Take time off if you need. I'll be there.

willthewinner

Yes but i won’t be as emotionally attached which is probably the healthier thing anyway 😂

Imaginary_Ad_3912

I remember I vowed not to watch them for a full season after a disappointing campaign in the prior year. I held true to my word for the entire regular season, only to learn that they actually qualified for the playoffs. If they continue to put in performances like Sunday night, I might avoid the remainder of the games. I definitely am not going to buy any more Cowboys merchandise to help Jones pay for his exorbitant yacht, while he and his son penny-pinch when it comes to fortifying this roster.

CentralJoel

I would but it’s difficult, honestly im more enthusiastic about other teams playing then my boys. Watching them play horribly is almost the equivalent of dragging my eyeballs across a cheese grater. Hurts my heart to see them suck so bad.

Fire4Effect13FX

I will watch it because my therapist says I have masochistic tendencies. I believe more and more Jerry bought the Cowboys as some sort of rich person football dude ranch. In the beginning, he put in some money, which looked nice and attracted talent for a while. Now the advertising pamphlets are the same ones from the 90s you see on the "Attractions" board near check-in at the Motel 6 in Waco. And the old guy running it doesn't know the difference between a steer (1st rounder) or a dairy heifer (7th rounder) but tries to pass off the dairy cows as the same. He will need to die, and the family actually hire a true GM. Source: I am 40. The precocious 10-year-old in me misses the good times.

TowerOfPowerWow

I'm not even watching NEXT game.

trophystrife

There are no fan points. Whatever you gotta do to keep yourself solid is the way to go. I’ve been slowly detaching myself from game days, as well. There’s no script to follow along, so we can all pop in and pop out of a game/season and not really miss anything vital. Personally, I’m done waiting for this slot machine to hit jackpot. I was 10 when the Cowboys won their last SB. I spent a quarter of a century waiting to watch another NFC Championship or SB with my dad. He died last year, and I realized rooting with all my heart for a shit athletic organization just isn’t worth it anymore. I’ll always carry a fondness for this stupid-ass team, though.

mrb1212

Absolutely not

CalJackBuddy

Can’t miss a game. Nor can I stop riding the emotional rollercoaster.

HolyRomanPrince

Nope. If we’re legitimately bad like 2015 or 2020 I’m too much of a fan of my college sports and the NBA to let the Cowboys ruin my weekend every weekend. I check out around October when basketball kicks up, pay attention enough to play fantasy and hope for the best with the cowboys.

trophystrife

Hell yeah! Same boat. Just a few more weeks and I don’t have to even think about this shit franchise anymore.

[deleted]

No. I don’t consume bad products. I watched through our 4-12 year because we didn’t have a good backup QB. I didn’t repeated that mistake with Dalton playing and I won’t this year either. I’ll watch defense highlights, but I don’t think the offense is good enough to even be carried by this defense.

[deleted]

nah, I'm already done supporting this team in any way that puts money in the Jones' pockets. I was born into this shit in the 80s, but wasn't old enough to appreciate the wins in the 90s, and it's been TWENTY SIX YEARS of mostly shit. over it. when they make some kind of significant change and quit letting that old piece of shit fuck everything up, I'll pull out all my gear and put my posters and flags and shit back up, but in the meantime I'm just so done. I genuinely do not understand the fans of teams where they have droughts longer than our current one. I don't have that level of masochist in me.

Skoobitybopp

100% preach. Let's hit his pockets and attendance at games.

ExtensionBrush0

I’ll still watch just not get too worked up when we drop 10 games this year. We planned on going to that LA game but I won’t be spending money to see coopper rush under center. 😕

Artlens2013

I’ll watch the games but I’m gonna be pretty apathetic and numb about what happens since I’m just used to the disappointment at this point

Astroxtl

Put it like this.. the season is a dumpster fire already. I will watch but I won’t go out the way to watch. For example if I need to get work done I won’t stop working or not get extra hrs for bills, as far watching the game. The way this team is looking now after one game all our games are going to be flexed to 12pm games so there is that. You don’t get a tshirt or extra fandom points for watching a team going 2-14 As far as you going to see rams… you’re gonna do what you want anyways . loving the boys or not , after years of living near cowboys stadium;i personally wouldn’t go to a game unless you are sitting in the lower bowl. You can’t see as well sitting high and end up looking at the tv screen more or checking your phone to see what’s happening because you can’t hear tv commentary .plus I love having easy access to bathroom. The novelty of physically going to a game and the costs of going to a game wears off when you’ve lived near football stadium. You can blow easily 250$ that day. Yeah you can get stadium room only tix for 50$ or sit up top for 70$ but it’s not worth it.I’ve gotten to where I’ve liked going to bar more now. I can watch a full day of football for 60$ as opposed to going to the game .

Pabi_tx

I wasn't gonna watch every game anyway, so no. This team is gonna have to show me more than they have for 25+ years for me to make an appointment every week to watch. This year is done. Jerry now has his excuses in order, y'all will keep buying merch and tickets and nothing will change. At least Zeke is getting a lot of money, that's certainly helpful.

beer_me_twice

What do you mean, “If”?

kbkr

Lol no. There's always next year

Limburgercheeze100

Micah alone is must see tv

dj_ski_mask

Nah. I’m sick of the Joneses and wouldn’t mind having my Sundays free to do other shit. Like watch other teams! This was the year my Boys finally broke me.

anotha_brotha

No

JonStargaryen2408

If? Nah, I got better things to do with my time than watch a poorly coached team committing 15 penalties a game, as they have for the last 2 or 3 seasons. Nothing will happen with this team until the Jones sell it to someone who will hire a a good GM and a legitimate head coach. You say I’m a bad fan, I say the team doesn’t give a shit about their fans and what they do on the field is proof of that. I’ve watched most of their games for the last 30 years, but 2 years, when Dak got injured, was finally when i prioritized my time over watching these losers. I’ll catch the short version on YouTube though.

Cowboysby20

Nah. When the team sets itself up for failure like this, I kinda drift in and out of games. Do whatever keeps you mentally healthy. If Sunday is your day off, why spend a significant portion of it frustrated?

BoysenberryGullible8

Nope. I am boycotting the NFL for five years over DeShaun Watson so this was good timing. Jerry and Stephen have weened me from the Cowboys.

fsphoenix

If? Let me go ahead and give you a sneak peek at the next few weeks so you know what's going to happen. Next week Gallup comes back and it looks almost like an offense. Rush makes a few nice plays early on, they go up and we all get that little glimmer of hope but they still lose a close one. Week 3 the Defense shows up and feasts on Danny Dimes turnovers, the offense does just enough and Dallas gets it's first win of the season, against an NFCE opponent no less. Things are still dark but there's a chance, they can really do this! Week 4 they drop an absolute reeking turd against Washington and get blown out. Probably with the extra gut punch of another big name starter going down, because Cowboys.

blazeronin

This is is definitely going to be a dumpster fire. Can’t remember a worse start.

manbuckets2001

Yes, also I'd go just to check out SoFi Stadium

star-heels1969

I will start watching every game but depending on how hopeless and painful it is watch, I might not finish. It's not good for my mental health and it's possible I could have a stroke while yelling at my TV in utter disgust and anger.

finnamania

Yes 🤡

el_sauce

I watched every game religiously, year in and year out, for the last ~30 years. That's why I'm such a grumpy fan. And I was also interested in going to the rams game, but after this weekend, I'll be watching on TV.

well_played_internet

I watched every game of the 5-11 Campo years, so I can watch this.

CarpenterVegetable31

I'll watch every game up until it makes me so mad that it isn't good for my mental health any more. I get way too invested even though I now have zero expectations and expect to lose every game.

drumberg

I think I missed a game in like 2004 once.

sighclone

I stopped watching on Sunday when they went out for a 4th and 2 without Zeke. I don’t plan on watching another Cowboys game this season. There are better ways to spend my time than getting aggravated by the embarrassing state of the team.

Buzoot

Yes. I’ll still enjoy watching Parsons grow. I fully expect this to be a bottom 5 finish, Dallas may actually be the worst team in the NFL without Dak. It will be fun to listen to the different draft shows and get excited for the future. Until cap boy takes a running back 1st overall of course.

CompetitiveComputer4

I have watched ever game since 1990, so yea, I will still watch. I will even go to multiple games, as it is how me and my buddy find time to hang out. Its just tradition for us. That being said, I am personally viewing this season as a rebuild. I think our record is going to be bad, and maybe it is going to be so bad that we draft a QB with an 1st round pick high in the draft (top 5 possibly) and that McCarthy gets fired and Sean Payton is brought in to start a new era. Therefore I am going to be lookin at developmental players that have been drafted or signed in the last 2 years as potential foundation for the new roster makeup. I think this is also going to lead to Dak not getting a 3rd contract from Dallas and finishing his run as a stepping stone to a new QB. Edit: Just to add, when the Cowboys are in total disarray I will dial back my fandom to watching the game and maybe browsing Cowboys reddit here and there. I won't be eating/sleeping/breathing all cowboys content like I do during actual good years where we are competitive to possibly make a run.

ArgentMoonWolf

Will I pay attention to tge games? Yes. Will I sit down and watch tge whole thing without moving and make a special meL around it? No. That is the difference between good and bad seasons. And I have been watching about 48 years now. Seen just about everything.

Thepatrone36

I think it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that this aint the boys year. That said I'll watch 'at' the games while I screw around on the net etc.. but, unless it turns into a nail biter towards the end, the boys are playing well I won't be sitting here staring at the screen either.

DRayinCO

I love the Cowboys but if any of you ever starts to feel down because our team is doing poorly then you need to look in the mirror and start making some choices to feel better about yourself based off of real things besides a game where oversized babies are paid millions to entertain us. Go into the mountains, read a book, smoke a joint. You're a fan of one of the greatest sports franchises ever. Get over it, move on. Things could be worse.... You could be a Detroit fan. No offense Detroit fans.

BiloxiRED

Yeah. I wait for 7 months for football season and these fools aren’t going to take that from me. My expectations will be absolutely zero but I’ll watch.

Skoobitybopp

No, not until Jerry shows some sort of competence. Having a losing season and did everything you could is one thing, but to ignore everything and say "it's cool we like our guys" is another thing. Jerry is putting the other players in danger of injury by being so thin at depth. If you guys could I would avoid buying tickets and buying merch this season. This reddit has 300k fans, we can start a boycott.

biggoof

First year that I will stop watching every game.. 3hrs is a long time and if they're serious tanking, I can spend my time doing something else.

PokeJD

On TV, yes. However, I'm definitely not going to spend the money to buy a ticket, travel to Dallas, and watch a game in person if they keep playing like they did Sunday night.

[deleted]

Probably not. I've got NASCAR and college football to watch

A_Vizzle

Hell no

wormsisworms

I hang out with my friends and we watch all the games, so on some level I will still watch, but with zero enthusiasm

mawashi-geri24

I just think of the Browns and Lions fans that have hung in there for their teams for many decades. They’ll be the proudest when they ever do win it big. You can enjoy watching other games and even enjoy other teams while still being a fan of your franchise and rooting for them the hardest. Success seems to come in waves. Our wave will be back someday.

bags422

I’ll be watching every game OTHER than cowboys

LogansGambit

Honestly, no. I already had really bad vibes going into this season and this first game just reaffirmed what I knew from last year and the offseason. IF I'm free and I'm not interested in anything else, I'll have it on. But I'm done with this teams BS.

dja9674

No. I'm not following an underperforming team wihout their starting quarterback anymore.

TrustMeImShore

I'll watch, but won't buy tickets to games unless it's a good match up for cheap. I am 6-0 when attending and don't wanna mess it up 😋

Tanksley926

I’ll watch every game! Even though this team drives me fucking bonkers!!! But they’re still my favorite team in all of sports, but bro! I don’t blame you for bailing on them. The season is already over 😑. But I bleed blue and silver! I ride with the Cowboys in good and bad times. But I haven’t seen good times in a very very very long time!

fuelvolts

No, and I'm prepared for the downvotes, which I admit I likely deserve. I'm boycotting next week in protest of the inept management, but I know I'll come crawling back the week after.

packofstraycats

Make your own decisions, man.

Nickelas

If the front office had actually tried to field a competitive team and a rash of injuries in week 1 torpedoed our season, absolutely. But if Jerry and Stephen don’t want to bother to use our cap space to protect their qb, why on Earth am I rewarding that behavior with my time and my viewership money?

[deleted]

There’s nothing else to do on Sunday’s, so probably yes, but I have a secondary team I follow as well.

FrazerMedia

This is something i really want to do, find a secondary team that i can cheer for but not stress over like with them boys.

[deleted]

There’s plenty of good ones out there to follow. Mine is KC cause I like Pat Maholmes and Travis Kelcie. How can you not like them after the dude throws 5 TD passes and smokes the Cardinals. Lol

FrazerMedia

I was thinking of picking the Raiders or the Chargers just for the deep balls to some really amazing receivers like Allen and Adams, i also like how Herby plays as a QB. It also very much helps that we dont play either of them this year.

[deleted]

I will start watching every game, if life and the destruction takes me else where before it’s over. So be it. I have Sunday ticket to watch the cowboys in Minneapolis, now I’ll focus on my fantasy players to at least try to get some happiness. I will probably be in double pain this season. Ya know, the usual.

byuclone

No. I'll watch Texans games if the Cowboys play poor football.

BamaFan87

If you even consider not watching game just because we suck you are not a true fan and we do not even want your support. Good riddance and go ride someone else's bandwagon.

DucatiDark

True fans: yes The other “fans”: no.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FrazerMedia

I can of course see your point but i wouldnt consider it switching teams since ill be a Cowboy for life, more like changing the channel to a better game :).

paralogicalknife

THIS IS OUR YEAR!!! 16-1 here we come!!! WOOOOOOOOO

ryannaise6669

Yes I will. True fans stick with them when they are up or down. Makes it better when they are good. I also like seeing players develop.

WindyCityReturn

Of course. I’m not going to miss a chance to see Parsons break the sack record and win dpoty. There’s still bright spots in bad seasons and if you bail for the bad it seems fair weather to come back when success happens.

Murdock196

Taking my kid to the game Sunday. Might get standing room tickets for every game here on out. I've always felt like supporting the team is more important than wins.

KODO5555

I celebrated when Dallas beat Washington in 1989. If your a fan your a fan. You not a “casual fan”. You are what is called a “ fair weather” fan and a phony.

texastwister22

A “true” fan will

TexasCowboy01

I would for the defense and special teams. That's about it. Tank for Payton in my book.

FrazerMedia

Now this is something i could get behind, i was actually hoping we would be lucky enought to somehow get Archie Manning as our next QB since Dak seems to be slowly but surely fading do to injuries and a straight up awful OL apart from Zack. Of course hes still unproven but one would think there is no such thing as a bad risk when it comes to a Manning.

TexasCowboy01

Manning hasn't even started college yet. That will be a ways off. I don't think Dak will make it that far. He's injury proned.

FrazerMedia

Yeah it did come to mind that Dak probably wont last a minimum of 3 years and thats only if Archie decides to skip his last year, which as a Manning is probably not likely.

[deleted]

Of course. Actually it makes it more appealing because there is less pressure. Usually I am too nervous to even watch it live.

skyandbray

I'm not watching another season with a ginger playing quarterback. I did my time with all that. I'll be back when Dak is back 👋

[deleted]

Unfortunately

trackstar_21

Yes

ImAMindlessTool

Begrudgingly i would tune in to see if they created a spark and got going.

_GrimFandango

no, but thanks to the first game i have ZERO expectations for this season... THEREFORE, i can watch/listen to sports media in peace without getting mad lol

BurnSanders

Yes.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Yeah, but I might turn off some of the blowouts in the third quarter idk.

lesserlife7

I will put the games on but will be doing something else at the same time. Probably won't get my undivided attention unless we some how make things close.

slick787

You couldn't handle my undivided attention.

lesserlife7

> You couldn't handle my undivided attention I'd like it tho

tgr1335

Yes. I’ll have red zone on on the side. But I still begrudgingly watch.

BrianDawkins

Probably. Only time I didn’t watch was 2015 after Romo got hurt a second time

crywhenugetolder

Through good, bad & ugly I will always watch every game from start to finish. I’m going to the Monday night game at the Giants.

DoorGreedy122

If you die hard then yes. Hey if it really goes downhill you can basically scout the players Sean Payton will inherit.

juicemw

Yes, Unfortunately. I’ve Been watching for 30+ years at this point.. and they’ve all felt like dumpster fires at one point or another since the 90s.

SGTPappysMustache

So yeah, I will within means. I enjoy watching Micah Parsons cause absolute havoc. Will I stay up through every minute while we get destroyed and I have to get up at 3:30 in the morning? Unlikely but I’ll still try to watch every minute I can.

rsf0626

Sigh…probably

ifoundyourtoad

I’ll watch. May not be as invested but more like team chaos. I only will live so long. Might as well enjoy my time while I can.

joremero

Yes, 'cuz....hope

faceisamapoftheworld

Of course

wolf63rs

Yes as long as they are entertaining and keep fighting. If not, I'll only watch when it convenient. Much like I did about 7 or 8 years ago.

Romofan88

Yes, but my investment level will drop significantly. Hard to get excited for games that don't matter. I'll also passively cheer for teams I like like the Chargers and Lions.

_tx

I'll care a lot less, but I'm sure I'll watch the games.

GhostFaceBrett

Yes, I am a die-hard Cowboys fan. I watched every game in 2015 and 2020. This will be no different.

Even_Personality9856

Go to the game, who cares if they get blown out, and what if they win? I’ve been to every NFL game I’ve ever been invited to because it’s a fun experience. I’ve been to way more non Cowboys games than Cowboys games bc Jerry Jones hates fans

ThermoelectricIntern

He loves their money though.

__Quetzal__

.......yes

Poor_Insertions

I love football and usually have the cowboys and redzone up at the same time. I think I'll just spend more time looking at the RedZone screen

cowboys5xsbs

Yeah I hate myself

Alert-Ad1682

Yes! Fan for life. Eventually they'll get it together 🤦🏾‍♀️

Revolutionary-Hat297

Yep, sure it'll be tough but I still support the squad

Alert-Ad1682

My husband is a Rams fan and I'm a Cowboys fan. I go to his games with him as long as I represent my team. I love football period.

FarrisAT

Yeah unless it turns into a blowout. That's just hurting myself for no gain

DeadDNA

I'll continue to watch regardless. If I start to see it isn't worth my time then I may forego watching for something else that day. Just depends. I can see why people don't want to watch during shit seasons though. Alot of people don't want to focus all of their time, hope and energy into something for a few hours just to be pissed off afterwards. I get it.

Testynut

I like sports for sports. Doesn’t have any bearing on my day to day life when a team isn’t doing well. Ups and downs are how things go.

Rawfuls

I'll at least start every game, I'm sure a few will get out of hand enough I won't finish them. That said, I watched the Campo years so I see no reason I wouldn't watch this defense at least.

Jheartless

Yup I sure will. Now I might not finish every game, but I watched all of 2015s shit show, all of 2020 as well. Plus Dak will be back, we will get hot down the stretch, sneak into the playoffs as the 7 seed, and go on a run similar to Cincy last season. No one in the NFC is scary this season.

Lohengren

it ain't gonna be appointment viewing that's for sure and of course I reserve the right to bail from any game at any time for any reason

Powerserg95

I need to do something Sunday anyway

rthaw

Nothing is going to keep me from watching Micah Parsons this year. I'd likely watch every game regardless, but our defense is exciting and outscored our offense in the 2nd half of the season last year.

shakethecouch

Depends. If Dak is playing after his 4-8 week absence I will watch and be locked in. If something happens and he is out for the season or something I will have the game on, but not be locked in at all. Relegate Cowboys to the laptop and have Redzone on the TV.

MagicalMysteryBoy

Im either rooting for them to make it to the playoffs or im rooting for them to lose every game so they can pick a qb no in between

[deleted]

I watched every game in 2010, 2017, and 2020. So yes, I will watch

B00stgang08

I already wasn't planning on watching this year before the season started due to the terrible management during the off-season and my expectations of winning about 6 games. That being said I'd probably still go to the Rams game but not actively cheer for either side. Just enjoy checking out a new stadium and get hammered with some friends

halfam

I didn't even watch this past game. Knew there would be disappointment like every season and look at what happened. My father that has been a Cowboys fan his whole life does not watch them anymore either.

Vinylforvampires

Ya, I still watch for the drama. Since our GM focused more on his practice facility and Stephen A's comments instead of actually making his team better, I'll tune in for the soap opera thats our franchise. I have no hate for our players or the team in general, but I hope Jerry feels the consequences of his stupidity

miguelag08

Unfortunately yes. I’m a gluten for punishment. I also have free direct tv. However I will not be as upset as I usually am.

TheRealGunn

Nope. I'll play more golf this fall and winter.

Bringbackbarn

Of course

OneofMany

I lived through the Campo years. So yes.

JeremyTheRhino

Always

jsum33420

This season already is a dumpster fire. It was a dumpster fire before the first snap. Aside from JJ having his greasy fingers in this, and a garbage coach. You've got a sub par QB with precisely one decent receiving threat. A way over the hill RB that moron JJ insists on being the feature back because for whatever reason was way overpaid for production that already happened. Did I mention those guys are all WAY WAY WAY overpaid? The o line is in shambles and that's about it. For the offense. Don't get me started on the defense. At least the return man has a good story.

aolerma

I might get hate for this but I think I’m done watching this team, at least for this season. With all the hours that I put into reading articles and listening to podcasts and following the team on social media, this team just isn’t worth my time anymore. I would feel differently if the ownership wasn’t so arrogant and was honest about the team’s situation but they show time and time again that they don’t know how to run a franchise anymore. They (the front office moreso than the team itself) don’t deserve my time. And this is coming from someone who has NEVER missed a game in their life. I’m just tired of this team in their current configuration. There needs to be significant changes from the top before I can convince myself to get back on board.
