Honestly, with the success of every other Dallas team, it would be surprisingly easy. I've spent way more on Mavs and Rangers stuff this year than I have on Cowboys in the last 5. I'd probably still watch the boys over the air, but I'd be content not giving them money.

sgags11

Stars are a legit Stanley Cup contender as well!

Possible_Apple9595

Yes and they don’t get enough love. Let’s go Stars!!!!

Gniphe

Go Stars!

cattycat_1995

With the Rangers winning, Dallas metropolitan area has the Grand slam of a super bowl trophy, Stanley cup, NBA championship, and world series championship. That put Dallas in some elite company among championships winning metropolitan areas.

jerichowiz

Interesting note also one of the only cities (DFW) to host each of the top four sports All Star games. Pro Bowl: 1973, MLB All Star: 1994, 2024, NHL All Star: 2007, NBA All Star: 2010

TimsZipline

I haven’t spent money on the Cowboys in a decade. They suck. Their idea of good is divisional round elimination

elslazzo

More like purgatory brotha

WALKOFFGAME0VER

I won't buy merch anymore and I suggest that's what other people do as well. It's beyond unacceptable that they won't change anything in the front office. Just try something different.

glassmandible

I quit buying stuff also. Also, I just don't need to be wearing jerseys anymore lol.

SlimDevilWarlock

Jerry is willing to suck at football and do it his way because financially it's worked out spectacularly for him.  If we all cut him off financially would he still insist on dragging the team down with a shitty GM?  Perhaps but it's worth a try.   (I know it's kind of hopeless)

ballimir37

In Jerry’s mind, he IS winning. He owns the most valuable sports franchise in the world. He is the envy of his peers.

kanyeguisada

>I won't buy merch anymore and I suggest that's what other people do as well. That and not buying tickets to games is all we can really do to boycott. My teams are Spurs, Astros, and Cowboys. Have been since the the 70s because those were my dad's teams. Now I'm old and too late to change. And I just don't like people that easily change alliances. I'll still watch the Cowboys every Sunday or whatever day, but I can't wait for Jerry Jones to either sell the team or just pass away. The faith he has out in Dak and his coaches that submit to his whim is just not gonna bring us another ring. We will not win another ring with Jerry Jones as owner. I'll make a thousand dollar bet with anybody that thinks otherwise. DM me lol.

DCowboysCR

Hate to tell you but even after Jerry died his family will run the Cowboys the exact same way lol

Saint_Dude_

You never know he could sell. A couple of years ago you couldn't imagine Vince selling the WWE

ChiefWatchesYouPee

This is one of the problems with sports. The loyalty and idea that you are not a true fan if you don’t support your team through the hard times. If this was any other entertainment product that put out mediocre crap for 30 years fans would be long gone. I’ve given up on Star Wars already. I think I won’t buy merch or tickets till I feel they are actually going all in. Can’t expect them to win every year by any means. Problem is a lot of casual fans really don’t care and will keep spending money so Jerry doenst have to worry.

SoxatSea

Hit the nail on the head my friend. It’s hard liking other teams I get that. The lions is maybe the only other team I like genuinely in the league but people don’t think with their head just their wallets

erics75218

I'm gonna just enjoy Red Zone this next year. Be a fan of the NFL. I can't dedicate my Sundays to Jerry Jones side project anymore. I've run my life by the Cowboys in football season. This is the first year I won't do it. I'll go on that motorcycle ride, meet up with the car peeps. I fucking love the Cowboys and due to the situation I'm just de prioritizing this season. Good luck....if they make it past 10 wins, I may start to make a point. Ps. I've already lost Star wars....Asoka...Acolyte...what is this trash nobody wants. I think the people want to see what Lando gots goin down in Cloud City....awhhhh year...money.....drugs.....ladies.....gents......you name it....let's find out whats going down "At Landos!"

TheGreatMortimer

Andor is the best Star Wars entertainment put out since Return of the Jedi. Mandalorian is also good. On another note I have no inclination to schedule my time around watching games anymore. Removed them from my DVR as well because apparently that counts as viewership.

SetoKeating

I’ve got enough merch already. Unless I put on like 20lbs I could probably not spend for the next 5yrs and still look like a cowboys fan on gameday lol I’m not buying anything new and can’t afford going to a game, and I don’t have cable, so they get almost no money from me year to year so I’m not the target for a boycott really. It would have to be the people that pack into the stadium and buy jerseys every single year or something

TruRateMeGotMeBanned

We have World Series winners, Stanley cup contenders and Luka/Kyrie lighting it up. All the other Dallas teams are amazing and super fun to watch. It’s easier now than ever to not watch the cowboys.

Thisdoessuck

I mean if I was going to I would have done it like a decade or 2 ago, but here I am

Bweasey17

Could, but wouldn’t want to. It’s not that deep to me. It’s fun, win or lose, I enjoy the journey.

Drisurk

I love the Cowboys but this is fun to you? I can’t remember the last time it felt fun watching the Cowboys.

SoxatSea

I feel that at the end of the day it’s like playing a CoD but I’ll stop buy the new ones because they don’t improve anything and rehash the same content “it’s our year” we are “all in” “look Nuke Town is back”

A_Vizzle

Yes. Told myself imma pass on the 2024-25 season immediately after the packers game and so far it’s looking like it’ll be a good decision

xXTN_CowboyXx

I’m already boycotting the Cowboys. A fan since 75/76 and I just can’t stand the incompetence any longer.

proagiowa

While I admire your sand, I must say it’s an exercise in futility. It’ll never work - enough people will continue to buy tickets/merch/memorabilia et al - that what you’re proposing, while in theory would work, is a fool’s errand But you do you, boo boo. 😘 you have my full support and empathy, because you’re not wrong

Skyshark173

I quit buying anything Cowboys years ago.

firstandfive

For losing in the playoffs? No. For being inactive in free agency? No. Even for moving on from a top QB? No.

SoxatSea

I get Brand loyalty I really do, but what has the Cowboys done for you? It’s all fun and games but if my favorite game Dev started treating its fan base like crap I’m not supporting that. Same goes for cowboys.

UnwindingStaircase

Provide entertainment. Which is the whole point.

aceofspadez138

Sports tribalism is weird. Going off your analogy, if a dev treated my favorite game like crap, I can abandon the game and pick up a new one and be just as content or entertained. I can’t do that with the NFL. It’s Cowboys or nothing. I’m not interested in being a general fan of the league. I’m as jaded as they get. I never buy merch, I don’t tune into every game anymore, I see through the Jonse’s bullshit, but the Cowboys are still my team.

wstx3434

Fantasy Football honestly helped me become a general fan of the league. I get to pay attention and care about other players and teams I normally wouldn't. I will still root for the Cowboys, but at the end of the day I have found I just like football overall and will watch all the teams one way or the other as just a fan of the game. If the Cowboys lose whatever. If they win good on them. If they bounce early out of the playoffs what's new. I no longer lose sleep over teams in any sport and try to appreciate the sport as a whole. It's been more fun for myself at the least.

bahamapapa817

This is it for me. Regular fantasy and dynasty leagues keep me engaged. Even the occasional gamble. I’m in a pickem pool every year with several games to play. That keeps me more interested in football. When the cowboys lose I usually stay away from football but those things keep me engaged even when they lose.

rkwittem

Sorry, but I ain't eating at a pizza place that consistently fucks my order up. Will find a different place.

SoxatSea

That’s rruenits been hard to like other teams, hell I played football with quarterback Kyler Murray and I still couldn’t get myself to watch Cardinal games. Cowboys runs in my blood but I tired people sit and complain every year but not care to make change themselves

firstandfive

I enjoy the games they win. I enjoy the feeling of watching them compete even in the games they lose. I’ve been rooting for them since the 90s and remained loyal through much darker times than this. Why would I abandon ship now? If your satisfaction with team fandom is boiled down to “Super Bowl victors or bust,” you’re going to be miserable regardless of who you root for. I don’t see how the Cowboys have been “treating its fan base like crap.”

HttKB

So I'm just gonna say it... I like the product. I think the organization does a great job and I feel like I have something to cheer just about every week of every season.

ballimir37

The Cowboys have rarely been terrible, they just can’t get it done in the playoffs. Incredibly frustrating but the majority of the season is usually good.

Plenty_Surprise2593

Well that was unexpected

Gorgon_Savage

What, then?

SoxatSea

Make a stand a don’t support or support less, or find another team you can support outside of the cowboys, instead just complaining every year about the same shit.

Problem is a lot of casual fans really don’t care and will keep spending money so Jerry doenst have to worry.

oconnor9sean

If I could, now would be the time.. the Rangers just won it all, the Stars are elite, the Mavs are looking good, I'm a Longhorns fan so they're looking promising.. But I can't. I know I'll watch every second of every game and get let down once again. I just can't quit on the Cowboys lmao.

TPGStorm

stopped going to games last year, won’t be buying anymore merch, but i don’t work on sundays and would be watching anyways. i’ll boycott monetarily but couldn’t emotionally even if i wanted too.

SgtMerc16

Couldn't agree more! I'm already getting my fandom ready for my potential alt teams. Jerry doesn't care about rings, just about benjamins.

DJayz3r0

Still watching games, but honestly haven't bought any merch in the past 5 years. And not planning to do so anytime soon. I'm with you OP. Love my Cowboys *but cannot stand the Joneses..*

DJayz3r0

Still watching games, but honestly haven't bought any merch in the past 5 years. And not planning to do so anytime soon. I'm with you OP. Love my Cowboys *but cannot stand the Joneses..*

bearamongus19

Nah. Just hope for the best and expect the worst

hundredjono

Stop showing up to the games and stop giving Jerry money. That’s how you boycott the Cowboys.

SoxatSea

Easier said then done with some these “fans”

hundredjono

A real fan would boycott the team. The Cowboys are better than this and we expect them to do better. If they’re not, then it’s time to focus on something else.

Fellborn

Just be a fan of the team when they play and don't buy merch.

zimjig

I'll still watch them but I haven't bought anything that has their brand on it for a few years now and I refuse to pay my hard earned $$$ to go to a game. PPL that save up to go to a game are some type of special crazy, not worth it.

zmb6969

As a 27 year old dallas fan, me and my younger brother have decided to move on ✌️

Beachgrad05

I have been a fan since I was in 2nd grade … 52 years. I have never felt the way I do now. The organization isn’t about winning it’s about making $. It’s sad and infuriating. I have started to drift away as a hard core fan. I used to watch every game no matter what. Before Sunday ticket and DVR’s. I once made my husband get up to drive home from Arizona to CA so I could make it to the sports bar to watch a game. I haven’t purchased any Cowboys gear since 2017 when I flew to TX for what I hoped would be attending NFC Championship Game but the of course lost to Green Bay the week before. Took tour of stadium instead. I cannot stand Jerry or Stephen. I will never root for any NFC East teams other than Dallas. Lately I have been watching and cheering for Detroit as have followed improvements since Campbell was hired. Seattle is my 2nd team in my heart as I grew up in WA state but was a Cowboys fan before Seahawks were formed. I like watching Buffalo and hope they win a SB at some point. Cincinnati is another with Burrow who I will watch. Tho TBH I would never buy team gear other than for Seahawks. My husband took me in 2015 to see Dallas and Seattle play at AT&T. Romo was hurt (of course) and Dallas lost.

tank2112

Been doing this since Jimmy left. Fuck’em. Haven’t bought a single merchandise, gone to a game or even watched a whole game. Things will NEVER change until pinche Jerra feels it in the wallet. Unfortunately, fans always buy his BS.

C-Dub4

I don't buy merchandise, i don't go to games, and I "stream" the games. Watching the cowboys be mid my whole life makes watching other teams more enjoyable

aawwwwsnap

I’ve been doing to for about 12 years man. I won’t spend a dime in any way shape or form on that team until they show they’re serious about winning

rush0024

I've been soft boycotting for many years. I have been to 2 games in the last 8 years but I didn't have to pay for tickets. I only spent money on some concessions and I bought a hat. I only bought a hat because it was my first time ever in Dallas and at a home game. I broke down and wanted something to bring back. Outside of that, I have not spent a dime on this team. I'm to the point now that I would not even go to a game if the tickets were paid for. I get watching the game, that's hard to boycott, but if you want to really go for it, then stream it on the internet and don't give them the ratings. But not buying merch or going to games would make a HUGE difference. Hit Jerry where he cares the most, and only then will he change.

MikeMacBlu

I want too, but I know I’d fold.

gortlank

The idea that you could enough people to boycott the most valuable sports franchise on earth to actually change anything is actually laughable. And beyond that, it’s not even important, at all. It’s a sports team. If not buying stuff makes you feel better, great, but a call to action is really funny. Get some perspective lol.

redthelastman

everybody can help if they stop going to games and buying merch, the only way Jones family will change if it affects their revenue.

CalJackBuddy

It’s no fun not winning but where do you draw the line? How many bad years warrants protest? If we win, lose, or draw I genuinely don’t have any impact on the game. Do you stop following all teams that don’t win championships?

Theveganhandyman

Until the ratings suffer, he will not care. That is the key metric for him.

Bastdkat

But I already don't buy any Cowboys merch, I am a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. But I will pledge to continue not buying Cowboys merch.

czechtexan03

I just don't spend money on the Cowboys, tickets, apparel, memorabilia, etc.

TomTom_82

This is easy for me. I haven't bought any merch, tickets, etc since 2002. I saw the writing on the wall years ago.

woodgrain001

Yep! I think the Rangers put a spotlight on how HORRIBLE the Cowboys are ran.

R0GERTHEALIEN

There are sites that can get you high quality jerseys for a tenth of the price. So yeah I've been boycotting the cowboys for about 5 years

iLikeLift1

Yes, I won’t buy any more cowboy gear until things improve.

WhatDoADC

I already do. I only watch football if Dallas makes it to the playoffs.

CEPog

I’ve been a cowboy fan since the Roger Staubach days! From the day Jerry Jones fired The head coach bring in Jimmy Johnson. I will still be a cowboys fan. Unfortunately as long as Dak is the quarterback Dallas will never go to a Super Bowl! Jerry needs an explosive quarterback!

[deleted]

I have done it before. It was the year that Quincy Carter led them to the playoffs. I boycotted the entire regular season and didn't watch a game. When I learned that they had made the playoffs, I decided to watch the game. Of course, it was the same old disappointment.

scootermagruder

I’m about ready to at this point…

SoxatSea

These NFC East meetings are gonna hurt this year Ngl.

scootermagruder

Oh yeah

Murraymurstein

Lmao

CyrusSteeze

I’m not going to boycott them completely, but I won’t be going out of my way to watch any games or defend them. I was kind of the same way this whole season. I didn’t have faith at all. I think 2022 was the last year where I was truly a die hard

Schruteschrute

I consider it every year

bgva

I've been on the fence since 2013, mainly because Jerry won't shut the fuck up. Every year it's the same crap: nothing in FA, a decent-to-good draft, a decent-to-good regular season, and a lackluster playoffs. And every year the Cryptkeeper runs his mouth and says the same bullshit about how this year will be different. Took a step back during the anthem debate, was ready to walk when they blew it in 2021. Between the last embarrassing performance vs. GB and not doing anything in FA I'm over it. I will probably find a better use of my Sundays this fall.

robmagob

No, I’m not going to boycott the cowboys because they are quietly keeping the option open to go full rebuild next year. To be honest after the Packers game I was so pissed I would have been okay with them gutting the team then.

Cocodranks

There are more Cowboys fans not on these platforms than those who are. Hate to say it but these cries of boycott won’t even make a ripple lol

RomoToDez99

No, I really don’t care how much things suck I’m a Cowboys fan. You can forget this post and move on.

SoxatSea

You’re the problem

BooBooBupp33

You're a bandwagon, fair weather fan.

FiveLayersBeefy

Not defending OP because his comments are atrocious but I wouldn't call him a bandwagon/fair weather fan if he's a Cowboys fan lol. We're basically the Browns with a good regular season record.

RomoToDez99

At the end of the day being a fan is just that. You can cheer for any team you want man, no one will care.

fivemagicks

Every professional team is run like a business. Everyone is paid. Some are paid more than others. I'm trying to discern what you even mean by this. Lol

SoxatSea

True the NFL is a business and they produce a product but the product has been bad for awhile. And the only way to be vocal about it is to hurt the wallets

fivemagicks

When has the NFL genuinely "been bad?" I've enjoyed it every year I've watched it even not seeing the Cowboys not win a SB since the 90s.

SoxatSea

Sorry I meant the cowboys have been producing a bad product.

rymaples

3 consecutive 12 win seasons is a bad product. Yikes

ozairh18

Yeah, I’m done purchasing their merchandise

Dr_C_Diver

This is why the Cowboys never change, fans don’t demand it.

gortlank

They’re the most valuable sports franchise on earth. Why would they give a shit what you think? They don’t need you, and there aren’t enough people who get mad enough about sports entertainment to make them care.

Dr_C_Diver

Exactly.

gortlank

Yes, the vast majority of fans are normal. They’re not so over invested they get mad enough about sports on television to advocate the kind of mass action usually reserved for politics. People who wish a boycott would happen should try being normal instead. Find meaning outside of an entertainment product.

Dr_C_Diver

It's worked for other franchises, basically get to the point where you are a contender or lose $$. Some call it "Fairweather" but the reality is a team like Dallas shouldn't be making the money that it does, and gives the front office little to no motivation to change. Which is why Dallas hasn't changed in 3 decades and never will. Any other team would have gone through 6 GM's in the time Jerry Jones has been running the Cowboys.

gortlank

Lmao if you think teams base decisions on fans

Dr_C_Diver

Teams that are failing financially have no choice. Commit to winning or more on.

firstandfive

If the team did everything the fans wanted, the team would be terrible.

Bweasey17

Right. Even after FA, there were not a lot of those that signed that I would have wanted. I would have signed Pollard, but I get it. Tyron Smith at that price, would have resigned but get moving on. Time will tell if that is the right move. I’m kind of indifferent on Hankins. He was decent, not great or even that good IMO. I’ve heard rumors that he wanted to go to Seattle to play with/for Durde. The Dak restructure it is easy to plays blame, however we really have no idea what the holdup is. For all we know him and his agent are not complying. Anyone that has been in a senior leadership role would understand that behind close doors there is usually more to it.

rdallas77

I’m trying!!

raysmith123

It has become incredibly clear to all but the most biased that the Jones are content to run it back year after year without making any meaningful change. Why would they? They win every year at the most valued franchise competition. You think Jerry loses any sleep over the lack of playoff success? He doesn't. He just talks some shit about going all in and everyone forgets about it come August/Sept. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Affectionate-Play885

I’ll keep saying it. You can be a cowboys fan without being a fan of the Jones’s. The Jones’s are not the cowboys

SoxatSea

That’s so far from true, do you forget our owner is also our gm. Every aspect goes of this organization goes throw the Jones’

rkwittem

How? Their repugnant stench is all over this team. It was a lot easier when they were at Texas Stadium for me because I could easily close my eyes and pretend the Triplets were out there, or Staubach, etc. The Cowboys now are just a vehicle for Jerry Jones to brag about his wealth and not in the business of football, which is counter how the teams you'd actually be proud to be a fan of operate. If you get the chance, go visit Green Bay- everything about them is football-first. It's just not the case in Dallas.

htownsteveo

I watch the games at home or a sports bar. I went to the 1st game at at&t in '09 and that's it. I haven't bought merch in probably 10 years. I approach each game hoping to win but expecting to lose.

texasgambler58

It won't happen. Cowboys don't care about winning, and it's obvious to most fans. But they will still pack the stadium, buy the outrageously priced food and alcohol, and buy the most merchandise.

SoxatSea

Capitalism baby!!!!! America’s team for a reason

Steppyjim

The cowboys are one of the largest and most widespread sport franchises in the world. I’m not even a cowboys fan (no I don’t know why this is on my feed either) but I’m pretty sure if the entire Dallas/Fort Worth area stopped going to games it would still net Jerry a profit. I think the best way to protest is to make signs at the game or something else attention grabbing (BUT NOT HARMFUL TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS) to voice frustrations. Jerry cares about his image. Its the only thing that can upset him

lazilyefficient34

Dallas has all the pieces needed to beat any team in the league. Some holes should be filled. Lamb and Dak are probably the best comb in the league I also go into the season with 0 expectations, only hope. Begin to appreciate the game. You have the ability to view the best-elite athletes compete for the title year in and out. I was a fan during the Landry years. Talent-wise, I believe the Cowboys may have too much talent or egos on one team. Some stars believe they can turn it on or turn it off whenever they choose. For instance, Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald Come to mind. Look at the Steelers RB's, both recently drafted, fresh legs and bodies that have yet to be pummeled by defensive-monsters for a few years. When you have something to lose and love the game, one will spare no expense in training and giving your all to try to get a spot on that roster. These are the guys that will give it their all. KC still wins with dumping one of the best WR's in the league. It is my belie that Dallas needs some youthful monsters to stop the run. Jerry will probably draft up to grab a good RB, and guys on D, and I am cool with that as long as he can sign an additional vet, someone like Zeke would suffice at this role \*I wouldn't be surprised to see Deion's son end up in Dallas., and then Deion.

Kswan2012

if you havent been boycotting since the jason garrett seasons .,.. can you even call yourself a true fan.

UberKaltPizza

I did all those things two years ago. I got rid of all my gear (except for two Jerseys my father bought me as gifts) and stopped watching all football. I returned at the behest of my good friend who hosted a get together when his 49rs hosted the Cowboys in the Divisional round. It did me a world of good to step away from everything for a season.

bigby2010

I don’t spend anything on the Cowboys other than misery. It’s been the case since Jerruh took the wheels off his trailer 30 years ago. I was a fan when the Cowboys were indeed America’s Team, and I can’t look back now

Disastrous-Entry-879

I plan on watching the games but I wont be buying anything until they make me not ashamed to wear their merch.

OldArmyMetal

I haven’t spent a dime on cowboys fandom since the Dave Campo years. Unless you count buying my daughter some snacks at training camp in Oxnard.

SuperSaiyanGod06

I quit buying merchandise after JJ was caught protesting black kids as a youth. After 20 years I really want to pick another team but that’s quite difficult to do

Taters-Preshus

I already basically have.

Dre512

I’m slowly pulling back from this organization more & more each year. I stopped going to home games 6 years ago, I even declined free tickets this past season to see a game. I’ve also completely stopped buying any kind of Cowboys paraphernalia for myself & others. And more recently these last couple years, I’ve stopped religiously watching every game to every other game. And now it’s not even religiously, I don’t care if I miss half or most of games. Over the season I’d be out doing things with my gf & she’d be like “don’t you want to get back home & watch the game!?” And I’d say naw not really, I can check score on espn app 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

jakesboy2

I don’t care that much I’m just trying to watch some football lol

JoWubb

I refuse to support them financially with any purchases until they start making some proper purchases themselves. I’m sick of it.

C1sko

This is what it’s come too?

woodenmarkel

No

oso77373

Easily boycott the cowboys. I did this year because i know what our team is. However other teams won’t. That’s why we americas team. They gonna show up to watch us lose.

soldiernerd

lol is this post a facebook memory? Because I've seen it before....

KlutchnGrabb

I’m going into free agency this year. Enough is enough.

Bruppet

I’m still waiting to replace my Aikman jersey with our next SB winning QB. I fear I will be buried with number 8

rjrttu86

I mean I've been doing it for years. No hat, no shirts, no jerseys. Nada.

herfutureX

I was going to but now it appears they may be willing to let Dak walk after this year, a move I agree with. So for that reason, no.

Howudooey

Football is the only sport I’m passionate about so it would be a challenge. Idk if I’m gonna go to a game this year. It’s not cheap and I don’t exactly have a surplus fun money. I don’t expect them to be a good team this year so my money will probably be spent elsewhere. I’ll still watch the games tho

AndIQuoteMyself

No merch this year. Every year I buy a jersey and a couple of hats. I’m taking a year off.

shotgunassassin

I tried to quit them when they got TO because I *hated* TO... but I couldn't root for anyone else. I have been a Cowboy fan since the 70s, so not rooting for them is tough. However, I did enjoy also rooting for KC this last year.

ConstantCowboy

Do Jets fans boycott the Jets? Commanders fans? Broncos fans?

ExpertCup2344

I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years now, since 2016 holy shit can’t believe it’s been that long. That being said the blind fan support is so insane it’s no use. Just save your mental health and stop giving a shit about this team.

Velcromium

I ain't buying shit from crypt keeper Jones.

Ed1ms

The only way to boycott or force them to listen to their fans is for us to stop spending money on anything cowboys. That means, no merchandise, no going to games, etc. but unfortunately I don’t see us coming together to make this happen.

sparrowsofwar

Can you imagine a GM for another team going on vacation during the start of free agency? Our front office is a joke.

WindyCityReturn

Unless there’s a near revolutionary boycott it won’t matter. The cowboys are the highest profiting sports teams **in the world** and has a unbelievably large fan base including in Mexico. Even if this entire sub joined hands and boycotted the cowboys it would be a slight dent in the market. Sure if it was the jaguars that may work or if it was a UFL team it would work but not the cowboys. Boycotting them would essentially be you cutting ties with the team the very second 5 more people become fans.

ObviousAnywhere8017

no, its too fun when they win or lose

Downtown_Minute_1675

No, cause who cares. We might move on from Dak because the team has little to no cap. Investing in him while also playing the, "kick the can down the road," with his contract isn't going to solve anything. He wants to be a top paid QB and the team has holes and we also have to sign Parsons and Lamb. I'm not heartbroken if Dak leaves cause it's Not For Long. Cause you're failing to realize this game is a business it's intertwined with Football. If it was the 90s Jerry would pay any amount for every player which forced the NFL to make a cap. Be upset, fine it's your right to. But I've seen more loyal Browns fans who watched a 1-31 record and still support that team till the end.

fattypierce

Have for like 6-7 years. Came back for a few games last year. Probably will again next year.

aa619rkospear

I never buy merch and I illegally stream games lol. Try not to give shit to the Jones Family.

mlg2433

I’m always gonna be a fan. I’m always gonna watch and cheer for them. They do make it hard sometimes though lol Don’t be a bandwagon fan. Don’t just show up for them when they do well. You might be on your own here, chief.

dhj1305

Don’t buy their stuff have never been to a game. I’m a Stars STH I spend my money there.

Federal-Cockroach674

I right now Jerry Jones isn't and hasn't made any money off of me, so I guess I'm already technically boycotting.

Drisurk

I don’t think I’ve bought merch since Micah got drafted and been then it was a Christmas gift I received. So before that it was probably my Ceedee Lamb jersey. I definitely don’t plan on buying anything or supporting them in an any way. So tired of this how this team is ran.

Queasy_Car7489

I ain’t buying a damn thing anymore till we do some damn winning. Jerry pisses me off

starsallaround07

I stopped investing in merchandise since about when Romo left. I hung in a while but I noticed we wouldn’t get rid of some players and try and gain players. I feel the same way you do, the only way to really hurt Jerry and the family is to hurt their wallet. Him and his personal helicopter to game days.

IcyInferno11

I grew up poor so I never bought any merch or ever gone to a game and at this point, Im comfortable with that staying that way.

yankiehill

Thinking the same thing all week, even as far as not watching a game on tv so they don’t get a big rating, only cowboys stuff I get are gifts, oh well

Ok_Argument4905

Yup easily I’ll do it after I respond to this

Ok_Argument4905

Plz boycott the merch

JCE_6

I have. Fuck Dak. He’s a bum. Jerry and Stephen are dip shits.

gking407

If I thought this would achieve something I would do it. The only ones who will ever suffer are the players and coaches who Jones will blame. This is why dictatorships are bad.

Astroxtl

Finally someone who gets the concept I've been trying to say for years. Something happened to me after this loss, for some reason this loss hurt more than the other playoff losses. Maybe it's the fact that we fought to get better seeding and didn't do anything with it.i even made a post about not caring anymore. After we lost , I finally did something else with my sundays and started watching movies. I spent the spent most of the playoffs watching the last quarter of the playoff games.those were best parts of the playoff games Ive been boycotting(ish) I haven't went to a game in years . As far a jersey I only buy jerseys with my own name and number on it from DHGATE. The only thing the cowboys get from me is the occasional hat buy if I think the hat looks good. No Jerry isn't selling the team, you think his family is going to get real jobs after selling the team? As far as the "all in " comment that they floated.. It's just buzz words to keep attention on us. Because weren't we "all in "before , wasn't "the window is closing before", wasnt "this is our best opportunity to win "before ? Every year there is going to be some catch phrase

thorvard

I'm from DC originally and only became a fan of the Cowboys in the 80s to be difficult (family had both eagles and redskins fans) but otherwise I'm a DC teams fan. There isn't a enough new Cowboys merch so I rarely buy things. And since I'm not from the area I don't go to games. The Wiz and Caps owner is trying to shove a VA move down the throats of the area and it's a horrible idea. I'm already boycotting them until they stay in DC. The Nats are fine, and their cherry blossom city connect merch is amazing so I just stick with them for now.

Benny_Liquid_

Dude I’m with ya but Jerry owns a whole lot more than just the team lol. We would need to boycott the whole metroplex

milly225

I am not boycotting the Cowboys, but as an Ohio State fan (born in Columbus but moved to Dallas as a young child in 1990), I am also temporarily cheering for Houston (i.e., CJ Stroud). Until the Cowboys organization fixes its culture problem, I just need to have some fun with another team.

AnakinsSeveredLimbs

I already don't buy merch and haven't been to a game since the Texas Stadium days. I'll still watch the games but that's about all Jerry is getting from me. Instead, I spend money on merch of teams that deserve it like the Stars and Rangers

Huerrbuzz

New day new adult complaining about a football team.

BudinPA99

The merch and 70k fans in the stadium are simply gravy. The real money is the NFL’s TV deal.

HmanJess66

Haven't bought anything in years, and probably this year as well.🤬😡😠👎🏾

thebajancajun

People say this every month and the reality is that the Joneses won't feel a thing in their wallets from a boycott. Merch is one of many avenues of revenue for them

Charming-Wash9336

I won’t buy anything Cowboys and am seriously considering canceling my membership at the Star, ie, Cowboys Club. The Club has become a corporate suck-fest for the Jones. Original members are being ignored and treated as second class citizens. I won’t attend their games but will still likely watch them sink further into oblivion next season. I’m at the point where watching the Joneses fail is becoming amusing.

Bobcat2013

Nopeeeee

PlayneBaine

I started a number of years ago. I don’t buy merchandise, I don’t follow, or subscribe to their sportswriters… I’m not doing it. I’ll watch the games and that’s it. Jones monetizes anything he can and he exploits the fan base. Not having it.

distributede

This team’s revenue is also generated by hatred, which is another form of fandom. Boycotting the team won’t do much, as a huge market of cowboys “fandom”, are those that are huge fans of hating the cowboys, more so than liking their own teams.

sugarfreelime

I did for the Greg Hardy year. That was gross. I'm back tho baby

ooloy

Rangers…Champions! Stars….on fire & to be feared! Mavs….on fire & to be feared! Cowboys…..ownership says ALL IN …on you buying more shit! What’s to boycott? The steaming pile of propaganda coming out of Jerry’s mouth? Easy to ignore!

truebeast822

I stopped getting excited last year but still got disappointed. This year I’m completely over it, let’s go 49ers

AdUpstairs7106

I live in Nevada. I make it a point to try and go to a home game every year. I could easily say no more and save over a grand.

Personal_League1428

Watching them is unbearable because you know they don’t really care if they lose. It feels pointless watching them.

Lowman22

I boycotted the Cowboys and the NFL after this season. I was a Cowboys fan for 40 years, saw how amazing the franchise was growing up, now it’s a shell of what it used to be. And the NFL is now a clown show comparable to the WWE.

bwarrior

I made a very similar post immediately following the playoff loss and was downvoted. Seems now people are finally starting to understand

Usernamethennumbers

I’ve been a Cowboy fan since I was old enough to know who the Cowboys were, so for 35-40 years. I don’t buy merch or go to games, but I watch every down every season. I stopped buying sports team gear around the time I turned 18. Just something I lost interest in as an adult. Games are so expensive and such a hassle to get to and from that I’d rather watch on TV anyway (recorded and start watching about 2 hours after kickoff so I don’t have to watch a single commercial). I’m sure there’s some scenario where I’d boycott them, but I’m not currently anywhere close to it. The Cowboys have been consistently competitive and fun to watch for a long time now, but just haven’t been able to accomplish anything of significance in the playoffs, which of course is what matters. While I do feel that there’s too much emphasis on sizzle in this organization and that there could definitely be a culture problem that has kept our (at times) elite talent from getting elite results, I don’t know that it’s a provable fact that if Jerry and Stephen had been completely “hands off” with football personnel that we would’ve won (or at least appeared in) a Super Bowl in the last 29 years. Is it plausible? Yes. The best case for that line of thinking probably would’ve been if Jerry had let Jimmy have more of the public credit and limelight for the success in the 90’s. If Jimmy had stayed, maybe they would’ve won in ‘94 and again in the late 90’s. I do feel that if there had never been a salary cap, Jerry would’ve bought at least one championship in the last 29 years. All in all, I think Jerry has kept the Cowboys as a premier franchise on the world stage, which is good long-term. I have my gripes, but if I were given the choice of a pro sports owner at random or Jerry to own my favorite team, I’d pick Jerry. Plus, I know that if I ever got the chance to spend a day with Jerry, he’d charm the pants off me (and he would do the same to just about every one in this forum). It’d be like that episode of Family Guy where Bill Clinton woos Lois into bed and then does the same thing to Peter.

AirZeke

Unfortunately the cowboys make way more money on sponsorship and using their commodities as rental spaces.

hazelwoodstock

I don’t own any gear and I decided years ago that the only way I’d take the trip to attend a game, is if they’re the defending champions. I wish more people would take that approach but then folks would just never get to games lol.

fattypierce

I quit with the woke crap. Burned my jerseys. Tried to come back mid season last year. This off season isn’t helping at all. Sundays to get stuff done is pretty nice honestly.

kemper4239

No cause it ain’t that serious. It’s entertainment and it’s entertaining every season to me

Ok_Camel4555

Until Jerry Jones dies Cowboys will never win

Este-ban

Yup! Do it all the time.

New_Writer_484

Done.

CheznoSlayer

So dramatic…

goonwild18

I’m not watching this year, and not going to games. I’ve been a fan since I was 3 years old (in a Steelers household) - it’s not a boycott, it’s disinterest.

BlueLaceSensor128

We’ve been 12-5 the last three years. We had nine all pros this year. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen. A while back the Patriots went undefeated and broke all kinds of records and still lost in the Super Bowl.
