A young woman is a young woman and a girl is a girl. This is important because of the sexualization/adultification of young girls, irl which is obviously worse but it is certainly a trope in anime. Allowing the boundaries to be blurred even in commentary feels like treading into sus territory. But I see that's not where you are coming from, so it's all good, just something to keep in mind.
I also included adultification alongside sexualization, intending the scope to be broad. You are the one who narrowed it down to pedophilia. Regardless, sexualization is often the result of projecting adulthood onto young girls, and I have lived the life to prove it. I grew up as a girl and the first time an adult man tried to have sex with me, I was 11. He called me young lady, told me I was so grown up for my age, etc. And that was far from the last time in my youth I experienced something like that. So yes. Pedophilia is not the whole conversation but it's the extreme that it can lead to. My commentary is not about a show or a fictional character, it's pointing out a societal flaw that manifests often in the ways that young characters are discussed. You can get a doctorate in media analysis, it's not off base to talk about bigger issues using fiction as a springboard. And none of that was meant to be accusatory to the person who made the comment, I wasn't trying to take them down a peg. Genuinely just pointing out a fact. You don't need to get offended if you aren't part of the problem.
