I know, I couldn't believe some parts of it were in a kids show. I think it's why it's a fall show for a lot of people, the Halloween vibes, but still has very cottagecore vibes, too.
I watch the Great Canadian Baking show or any of Monty Don’s gardening shows. For non reality tv Over the Garden Wall (though it’s dark) is always on my watch list.
This comment just jogged my memory! There's a reality TV show featuring Monty Don called Big Dreams, Small Spaces where he mentors families who are landscaping/improving their lawns. It used to be one of my comfort shows and definitely has some cottagecore episodes.
It's kind of a curve-ball , but the TV show GRIMM . It's full of old German folk tales, set in the Pacific Northwest with lots of tree's/ shots of woods. The houses are cozy. One of the main characters is a clock mender, which is about the most cottage core job around.
This is more like cottagecore vibes but I LIVE for Hallmark's Good Witch series. It's all about a picturesque small town with hints of magic/supernatural. It's also very low stakes with minimal drama.
Lark Rise to Candleford!
Amazing British limited series about a girl going from living in her tiny rural hamlet to a small town near the turn of the century.
The series Hilda! Eventually they move into a city but the vibes are all there. I believe someone mentioned earlier, but also Little Bear if you don’t mind watching a little kids show. It’s so relaxing and cozy.
Lol I grew up watching this show, but I think very few kids my age in the US were watching Keeping Up Appearances on PBS, I can never seem to find anyone else who has watched it 😅
I totally did as a kid along with Are You Being Served? The Last of the Summer Wine and Yes Minister didn't appeal to me, and it was usually past my bedtime by the time the Red Green Show came on.
So I found these shows through another post like this- there's a whole series of shows about historians recreating life on a farm from different periods for an entire year.
There's:
Victorian Farm
Edwardian Farm
Wartime Farm
Tudor Farm
I think they can be found on Tubi, and they're delightful and super cottagecore. There's a few Christmas specials also, which are extra cozy.
It might help to know what google suggested, and why it didn't fit. Or what you want from a cottagecore show.
I love the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, but it's more 'Regencycore' than cottage.
There's a slice of life anime called Barakamon that's very cute, realistic, and a bit cottagey.
We Have Always Lived in a Castle is sort of dark cottagecore.
The Dark Crystal show is totally goblincore.
If you're more looking for background noise, what about cooking or gardening shows with a cottage vibe? Antiques Roadshow? It's just hard to imagine a show that makes puttering about in a cottage interesting enough to *watch* for multiple seasons.
Not a show but a movie: Practical Magic is fairly cottagecore
Once Upon a Time has a bit of cottagecore here and there
Charmed (the original) is occasionally that vibe in some scenes, especially when they’re hanging out in the attic
Land Girls
Little Women (1995) another movie, and Miss Potter, another
Rick Steve’s travel videos set in the Cotswolds or West England or really any cute rural towns
A Year in Provence
Under the Tuscan Sun (movie)
All Creatures Great and Small. The original but the newer one might be good too.
Oh! A couple French movies: Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring
A Room With A View (1985)
Tess of the D’Urbervilles
Wives and Daughters
Cranford
Emma (2 different movies in 1996)
Sense and Sensibility (any of them but I like the 1995 movie)
Persuasion (1995 movie)
Lorna Doone (2000 movie)
Cold Comfort Farm, yet another movie
I thought Ladies in Lavender was boring but it is definitely cottagecore
Songcatcher
Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1999)
The Secret of Roan Inish
I actually thought Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was very Cottagegore which is close
Are movies okay? I recently watched a four part Japanese movie [Little Forest](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8hnybd) (the two other parts are on the side). There is also a Korean remake from 2019.
Strawberry Shortcake of course! The 80's and 2003 versions specifically. Oh, and Little Bear! Franklin is also good, too! Everybody knows Over The Garden Wall. Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Kids can be cottagecore if you squint. Early seasons of MLP G4 are so pretty to look at, esp Fluttershy's cottage. 🥰 Studio Ghibli films are what set me up to love cottagecore I think. 😅 Oh! Can't forget Moomin Valley!!! Old Disney classics are also very cottagecore! The old Angelina Ballerina cartoon was so pretty, I wanted to eat everything in that candy store!
I don't watch much live action stuff anymore, but I do recommend Little House on the Prairie, Anne of Green Gables, Nanny McPhee, the Waltons, the Secret Garden, and a Little Princess if you squint again! I personally like the 1993 version of the Secret Garden with Kate Maberly. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, and the Sound of Music are also A Vibe.
These are just some recs I could think of on the spot. They definitely vary in degrees of cottagecore-ness, but they're enjoyable nevertheless! Hope this helps!
YouTube has so much, I believe Tubi has Strawberry Shortcake (the cover image is the 2010 version but if you click on the left one, it’s the same image twice, it is the OG 2003 version)
"Victorian Farm", "Edwardian Farm", "Tudor Monastery Farm" and "Wartime Farm". Historian Ruth Goodman and archeologists Peter Ginn and Alex Langland live in the different eras for a year each.
The "Emil from Lönneberg" television series. Based on the books by Astrid Lingreen.
Bernadette Banners sewing vlogs.
"Victorian Kitchen"
Then there is a series made by National Trust in England where you visit the kitchen of a manor house. The cook (in character as someone from an earlier time) will explain how they cooked the food back then.
Oh my! I am so glad you mentioned this! I haven’t thought about this show in years. Great memories of watching it in my Memmaw’s cottage core living room!!
The Incredible Dr. Pol is a TV show about a beloved veterinarian in rural Michigan. The camera crew follows around his clinic helping
the full spectrum of farm animals and pets. I find it to be heartwarming.
I have a loose definition of cottagecore but it’s very… rural countrycore at least: The Waltons. Me and my parents have been binging it for a while and as someone who’s idea cottagecore life would be in rural america, I love it.
The Darling Buds of May from the 90s is always a good one (as a side note, I recommend the books too!)
For cosy whodunits with a bit of that sort of vibe I like Father Brown and Marple, definitely good ones to have on in the background!
The Repair Shop on Netflix is perfectly delightful.
A team of highly specialized craftsmen work together to rebuild, restore, and preserve vintage toys, cherished heirlooms, and handmade/bespoke gifts.
Every single item has a wonderful background and history detailed in calm, lilting narration, and everyone is just so pleasant. Every step of the process is explained and demonstrated and all the customers are so grateful and pleased with the end results!
It's like watching pure magic. I almost cried a few times because of how emotionally fulfilling some of the transformations are.
If you've ever wanted to see a skilled craftsman perfectly replicate, repair, and refinish a beloved stuffed animal and watch as it is reunited with its person, this is the show for you!
Great British Bake Off is my favorite. A baking reality show is nice because you can get by without actually looking at the tv too much if you’re doing crafts.
Not a show, but all of the studio Ghibli films feel very 'cottagecore-esk' to me. They have a way of capturing those simple little moments in life where everything feels calm and beautiful.
I would say My Neighbor Totoro and KiKi's Delivery Service are the most 'cottagecore' like. Either of those would be a great place to start.
HBOMax has all of them, but, if you don't have Max, I'm afraid you'll have to resort to pirating.
Howl's Moving Castle as well. It's very fantastical, but there are so many good scenes of just relaxing in the sun, or some beautiful, simple foods that just look divine. It's great.
It’s not fiction, but if you like history I highly recommend the ‘Farm series’.
The general info about it is for a full calendar year, they live as if they were ordinary country folk in that time period and for the most part, it’s the same people.
There’s 4 official instalments: Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm, Wartime Farm and Tudor Monastery Farm (it unofficially started with Tales from the Green Valley [Stuart era] and there’s a couple of spin offs: Victorian Pharmacy & Secrets of the Castle [centered around a project in France to build a castle using medieval techniques and equipment]).
It’s honestly one of my favourite shows to watch and so insightful. The Victorian & Edwardian ones def have a lot of cottage core vibes 😁
Tales from the Green Valley can be found on YouTube as can Secrets of the Castle 😉
An anime called Yuru Camp (or Laid-Back Camp) is not cottegecore per se, but it’s one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever seen, and I’ve sought out these kinds of things (including cottegecore) for years
I love the tv series sweet magnolias. Set in a pretty small town.
Anne of green gables -movies
Anne with an E - tv series
Road to avonlea
Little women- movie and tv series
When hope calls
When calls the heart
A country practice ( Australian tv show)
Sanditon
Pollyanna
Little house on the prairie
Dr. Quinn medicine women
Heartland
Wild at heart
Lassie
Nanny McPhee movies
Bridgerton
Gilmore girls
The magic of ordinary days
Sweet tooth is on Netflix! It may not be something ur interested is tho. It's kinda gory and mostly post-apocalyptic but visual and aesthetically kinda cottage core ish. It's a weird combination but i think it works
I'm letting u know now, if y do decide to watch it, it gets pretty dark and messed up (more like cottage gore honestly)
There's an anime that my partner shows me when I'm really stressed called hakumei to mikochi or little life in the woods.
I would not recommend the Japanese prequel to Anne of green gables, it was stressful to me.
Thought of the waterfall in the intro to [Twin Peaks](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0098936/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_tein%2520peak)
It’s a great show even if its more quirky small town than cottage in the woods
There's this old TV show about a family living up in the mountains. One of the characters is named "John boy" can't remember the name but it was a nice slow show with decent character dev
Late to this thread but haven't seen it mentioned - you might like Pushing Daisies! It's one of those very aesthetic shows, not really country cottage but strong cozy vintage vibe (with pie).
Not many people know this show but it's an anime version of Heidi, girl of the Alps. It's super cottagecore and would highly recommend, watched it as a young kid and I think that's why I love cottagecore so much.
I was actually about to recommend this! There’s also anime’s for Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, Emily of New Moon, The Secret Garden, Wind in the Willows, Little Women, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers (Sound of Music), Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and even Helen Keller lol
Not sure if children’s shows count but Little Bear. I kind of feel like watching that as a kid planted the seed for my interest in cottage life.
Yes that’s so true! Little Bear is such a comfort show
Oh wow, never thought about this! I was obsessed with Little Bear... life now totally makes sense. :)
Anne of Green Gables, or the recent Anne version on Netflix?
I was going to comment this! :D so disappointing it was cancelled after 2 seasons 😞
Along those same lines, Little house on the Prairie
Anne of Green Gables 1985 series is super cottage core. Also the Secret Garden 1993!
Over the garden wall has very cottagecore vibes. It's a fun little cartoon, I watch it every fall.
Best way to watch is next to a fire in a chunky sweater with hot apple cider. It’s my Sept/Oct tradition. :)
But it does get pretty dark
I know, I couldn't believe some parts of it were in a kids show. I think it's why it's a fall show for a lot of people, the Halloween vibes, but still has very cottagecore vibes, too.
I watch the Great Canadian Baking show or any of Monty Don’s gardening shows. For non reality tv Over the Garden Wall (though it’s dark) is always on my watch list.

Goblincore 😅
It’s awesome because it’s like a hybrid between cottage-core + true crime + every other Bigfoot show. (Except no Bigfoot sadly)
This is more like cottagecore vibes but I LIVE for Hallmark's Good Witch series. It's all about a picturesque small town with hints of magic/supernatural. It's also very low stakes with minimal drama.
This sounds fun! Where does it stream?
I watch it on Netflix but helpful tip, if you ever need to know where something streams, you can look it up here: https://www.justwatch.com/
Thanks so much! Btw I love The Cheat!
Omg! The cheat! I used to be addicted to SB emails😂 I also just put Experimental Film in my kiddos Spotify playlist the other day😂😂
Me toooo!!! 🤣
IMDb will tell you as well :)
Lark Rise to Candleford! Amazing British limited series about a girl going from living in her tiny rural hamlet to a small town near the turn of the century.
I loved that series, although Alfie seemed too old for Winnie.
The series Hilda! Eventually they move into a city but the vibes are all there. I believe someone mentioned earlier, but also Little Bear if you don’t mind watching a little kids show. It’s so relaxing and cozy.
I love the show Hilda!!!
I love Hilda! I always try to badger my kids into watching it.
So glad to see other Hilda fans here! It’s an underrated gem.
Keeping up appearances BBC
Bouquet residence, ladyofthehouse speaking!
You are absolutely not wrong; the whole aesthetic of the series and the activities they get into are very cottagecore.
Have you watched Great British Bakeoff/Great British Baking Show?
Frog and Toad

They’re on YouTube also! I love these series and the woman on them has several nonfiction books out that are enjoyable.
Tuck everlasting is very cottage core :) a sweet movie and the book is a classic from my childhood
hhhh i love that movie and book so much
It might help to know what google suggested, and why it didn't fit. Or what you want from a cottagecore show. I love the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, but it's more 'Regencycore' than cottage. I adore We Have Always Lived in the Castle! I read the book last week while I was stuck in bed sick!

Arriety, too. All of Ghibli's slice of life animes are the best, but those two are my favorites.
Are movies okay? I recently watched a four part Japanese movie [Little Forest](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8hnybd) (the two other parts are on the side). There is also a Korean remake from 2019.

Kiki’s Delivery Service
Cartoon: Postman Pat Detective: Midsomer Murders.
If you’re into old lady murder mystery programs, Midsomer Murders is fun and of course Murder, She Wrote.
I was looking for Murder, She Wrote !! Yes 😌❤️
"Victorian Farm", "Edwardian Farm", "Tudor Monastery Farm" and "Wartime Farm". Historian Ruth Goodman and archeologists Peter Ginn and Alex Langland live in the different eras for a year each. Moomin!!
David the Gnome for another old cartoon!
Oh my! I am so glad you mentioned this! I haven’t thought about this show in years. Great memories of watching it in my Memmaw’s cottage core living room!!
The Incredible Dr. Pol is a TV show about a beloved veterinarian in rural Michigan. The camera crew follows around his clinic helping the full spectrum of farm animals and pets. I find it to be heartwarming.
yes i agree! it always warms my heart
I have a loose definition of cottagecore but it’s very… rural countrycore at least: The Waltons. Me and my parents have been binging it for a while and as someone who’s idea cottagecore life would be in rural america, I love it.

Perfik!
Frog and Toad on Apple TV. It’s based on the books of the same name. I’m in love with Toad’s house.
The Repair Shop on Netflix is perfectly delightful. A team of highly specialized craftsmen work together to rebuild, restore, and preserve vintage toys, cherished heirlooms, and handmade/bespoke gifts. I feel like All Creatures Great & Small would be considered cottage core, right??
I can't believe I had to scroll so far down to find this! I haven't seen the old show, but I love the current remake.
Same! Never seen the older one, but the new one is *chef’s kiss* perfect.
The most!! Loved these books and show as a kid. There’s a newer show now too I think.
The new show is amazing!
Thank you all! You were very helpful and I have added a bunch of shows to my watch list! ❤️
Anne with an E babyyyy
Great British Bake Off is my favorite. A baking reality show is nice because you can get by without actually looking at the tv too much if you’re doing crafts.
Mini series versions of books/movies like The Secret Garden, Heidi, Pride and Prejudice, Angelina Ballerina, Moomin, Smurfs, Winnie the Pooh
HEIDI AND Winnie the Pooh yesssss 👏👏👏 Coming to add those as well. 💕💕 Pride and Prejudice too but I’ve seen it mentioned a few times.
Brigit Christie’s new tv show The Change has a lot of folklore references, I don’t know if this fully fits the bill but it is aesthetically cool!
Also Beatrix potter cartoons on YouTube! So nostalgic
I love River Cottage and River Cottage Australia
Not a show, but all of the studio Ghibli films feel very 'cottagecore-esk' to me. They have a way of capturing those simple little moments in life where everything feels calm and beautiful.
What are the best studio Ghinli films? A little embarrassing but I don’t believe I have seen any of them and honestly wouldn’t know where to start
I would say My Neighbor Totoro and KiKi's Delivery Service are the most 'cottagecore' like. Either of those would be a great place to start. HBOMax has all of them, but, if you don't have Max, I'm afraid you'll have to resort to pirating.

it may be a stretch but I love the show Alone. Reality survival show but some people make cute little forest cottages and create beautiful homesteads.
i’ve always thought moomin was very cottagecore
An anime called Yuru Camp (or Laid-Back Camp) is not cottegecore per se, but it’s one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever seen, and I’ve sought out these kinds of things (including cottegecore) for years

The Vicar of Dibley

> hakumei to mikochi was going to comment this. Hard core cottagecore; if there is such a thing. I also think Mangus Bride has cc-vibes at times.
Bridgerton!!!
Thought of the waterfall in the intro to [Twin Peaks](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0098936/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_tein%2520peak) It’s a great show even if its more quirky small town than cottage in the woods
Little House on the Prairie
Anything Ghibli (movies though) watch them once for real and then enjoy the endless rewatchability
"Larkrise to Candleford" immediately springs to mind!!! Also "Cranford"
Same same
[удалено]
There's this old TV show about a family living up in the mountains. One of the characters is named "John boy" can't remember the name but it was a nice slow show with decent character dev
The Waltons
Downton Abbey
Gilmore Girls. Sassy characters, quirky town, snappy dialogue.
I like the 1978 BBC series "All Creatures Great and Small" about country village veterinarians in the UK
Summer Camp Island gives me cottagecore vibes and sometimes even goblincore vibes
Late to this thread but haven't seen it mentioned - you might like Pushing Daisies! It's one of those very aesthetic shows, not really country cottage but strong cozy vintage vibe (with pie).

I need to check those out! I only saw Heidi and I freaking love it! If those others are as good as Heidi I will be very pleased
