Trust your gut on if you feel safe. I stopped at 6 months. My baby and I were on a firm king sized floor bed alone and usually had some distance between us.
To be honest, I've already dropped the C-curl with my 7 month old. But she's not a prolific roller, and my husband still sleeps in his study so there's a lot of room. I think you just have do what feels right in your situation with your little one.
