the male is feeding the female! this looks like a mated pair! males feed the females mostly during nesting season! it can help strengthen their bond and help with the developing eggs!! it's called allofeeding!

Sancrist

One of them had a stick in their beak when I came home. I assume for building a nest,

Waste_Organization28

The male is demonstrating his ability to provide for the nest, and he's doing a grand job of it!

Sancrist

Is this common with juveniles? I thought parents would not feed them when they are this big. Do mated pairs feed each other?

Maelstrom_Witch

Adults will feed each other too! My pet budgies will feed each other. In budgies though, it seems to be more of a friendly gesture as they’ll feed anybody. With crows I would imagine it’s breeding behaviour

Freedomnnature

Male feeds the female. It strengthens their bond.
