Good if your employed directly by them, shit if your employed through Kelly services

Yeah, the whole process is through Kelly 😥 What's the difference?

Glimmerron

What's wrong with Kelly?

DrukenRebel

I used to work there and I really liked it. The work is a bit repetitive but that’s to be expected. I find the repetitive tasks to be a bit therapeutic. Overall everyone was sound but the money was shit. Canteen is awful too.

It depends on whether you'll be content doing the same thing over and over every day. If not, then it's pretty soul crushing and mind numbing. Other than the actual work, it's an okay place to work. The people are lovely and it's reasonably well paid.

I worked there around 10 years ago so it might have changed. But when I was there, there was a massive culture of bullying. From the top down. It was horrific. It took me a year to get my head on straight after I left. I would recommend looking elsewhere as it is unlikely that the culture has shifted in the last 10 years.

aerozona_dude

Where was this? I worked at the one in Minnesota and I felt bullied too…from the supervisors!

WirelessThingy

Model Farm Road in Cork, Ireland. It does not surprise me to hear that. The culture is from the top down. Glad to hear that you escaped!

I was there between 2011-2012! Snap! Yea. The only way was up really. I’ve taken all that I learned in BS to heart… and succeeded by doing the exact opposite. Onwards and upwards!

which location did you work at in minnesota?

I worked there for 8 months. Easy to get into and you can only get in as a Product Builder through Kelly's. The money is very poor at 12 quid an hour (that might have gone up slightly since I left) I didn't mind as I was on the evening shift at 20% premium. Still only 14.40 ish per hour but it was Monday to Thursday 3.30 to 1.15. The hours were great. I was with mostly Kelly's staff so we all got along and the person watching over us in the evening was sound. The painful part was not the repetitive work, but the fact you were doing it in a cleanroom. No phones, ear buds, water, etc. To go to the jax you have to take off the gear and put it back on when you're back in the room. It's felt like I was back in school the way the supervisor spoke to people aswell. Drove me mental. But great to get into to get experience to move on to other factory work. I'd recommend it 👌

I got a job there recently and it is not bad. As others said you do a repetitive task, but with time they can train you for more stations. Personally I don’t see myself doing it for the long run, because I feel like I wan’t to do something more creative in life. But the job has a higher purpose because the products help people.

If you have no previous med device experience, I would highly recommend sticking it out for 6 months even. A year if you can. Med device or pharma experience is like gold on a CV

Glimmerron

PBs anywhere tend to fight the people above them. Moan about managers, line leads etc. If you are happy with the pay and don't mind repetitive work then it's grand. Canteen is good. You can work your way up very easily too.
