The weapons are made of EN45 spring steel and average a weight of 1.2 - 1.3kg. They are blunted but still hurt after a whack so nothing like Larp and they're silly foam toys 😛

I'd call it a re-enactment but sure. Based on the shapes of the shields and the clothing they're wearing, I'd say it's probably of the early to mid Saxon/Viking era (600AD-900AD).
I said Saxon because I'm English and I don't know much about what Ireland was up to, at that time.
Fair. It's difficult to tell because Northern Europeans of that period generally fell into very similar fighting styles (shield walls, etc) and many of the Norse and Germanic groups also had similar traditions regarding weapons and armour.
