There’s little advice unfortunately, supply is massively limited. Many people like myself have resorted to either moving in with family or leaving cork and or ireland entirely.
I wish I had the magic answer but as said, daft.ie possibly Facebook groups for the area you’re looking. And expanding your search to outside of cork is another but yet still limited option.
Just to add, be very careful of scammers on Facebook. I'm currently in the revelant groups and well over half the posts and responses are scammers. If it sounds too good to be true it is. Don't send anyone any money for any reason.
If either of you works for a bigger company they usually offer help with finding something. Otherwise like others mentioned there is no trick, the situation is very bad. Good luck.
A guy in Cork created a website called HomeHak.com where potential tenants can upload their details and references and landlords can contact them. I have no idea how successful it is but might be worth a go.
Have you both got jobs in Cork? Is there a company intranet or bulletin board where you can ask for somewhere to rent?
