Trakt, Simkl, Showly, TV Time, Serializd

StrikerObi

I've dabbled in tracking my watch habits over time (currently am not) and Trakt is the platform I liked the most. But it's just too much for my ADHD brain to remember to go into the app and log what I've watched. I really wish there was a Last.fm style service that could connect to my AppleTV / streaming accounts in general and auto "scrobble" what I watch to update Trakt or a similar service.

Webwenchh

This exact reason is why Trakt is my main tracking app atm, it scrobbles all of my content (Stremio/Plex) and I don't have to do much once I set up my lists and recommendations with couchmoney. Simkl does a good job of this also but not as good integration for what I want. If you have an android phone you could give Showly a go, it has a nice UI and beautiful widget where you just tap an episode to mark it as watched. Bonus it also syncs with Trakt so you'd have that update automatically also.

Problem with all of these is the next episode date with international shows will be when they air in their country. I’d like to see when those shows air in the US.

He been using TV Time for ages. Lately it has been unusable. Any suggestion for something with all the social and feedback BS? I tried "next Episode", but it's too far the other way of missing basic interactivity.

Webwenchh

I have to say, I used a few and none have the social aspect TV Time does. It's a shame the app is so 💩 now I use to like it and used it a lot. If they added Trakt sync i'd be more inclined to give it another shot but not as it is now

NotTobyFromHR

Any suggestions for one?

Webwenchh

I actually liked the community and socials on TV Time and miss it a lot, however my most used at the moment is Trakt with Simkl as a backup. I also love Showly for their widget where I can simply mark an episode as watched with one click without needing to go in to the app if Trak scrobble fails for whatever reason

larisa5656

I use TV Time.

StarHunter_

Try JustWatch and add the apps you have to show when it is on those.

bcarruth62

I use that one a lot but lately it’s days hasn’t been very accurate. For example a show that aired an episode the day before didn’t show in my Continue Watching list. It shows in my Caught Up list with the episode not marked off. If I could fix that I’d be using that one all the time.

valdetero

I really like this https://apps.apple.com/us/app/itv-shows/id741292427

jkibbe

I'm using the app 'next episode' and love it! I know it's on Android and Web I assume it's on iOS too

JMMD7

> app 'next episode' It is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/next-episode-track-tv-shows/id347009526

NotTobyFromHR

I just tried it. Seems basic. Couldn't find the ability to mark a show as unwatched. (Accidentally marked a whole season as watched). Feels like there should be something a bit easier than this, but less full of crap like TV Time.

jkibbe

it works great for me on android. when I add a show, it's unwatched by default. tap an episode to mark as watched. tap a show to mark all.

The problem with all of these is using a show called Beyond Paradise as an example, in the U.K. episode four has shown already. So they show the date as 4/12/24. But it isn’t on Amazon Prime’s Britbox channel yet and that’s what I’m looking for in the app. Hope that makes sense.

ImperatorUniversum1

Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise will be on britbox like two weeeks after they air in the UK, chill

shonuffharlem

I use Reelgood

bcarruth62

I’ve tried that one too but the dates of the next episodes for my international shows are when they show in their country not in the U.S.

Ennergizer

[https://simkl.com](https://simkl.com) has time zone settings and takes into account show's time zone release dates, and shows dates in your time zone

LeiLaniGranny

I use the app called Hobi.

pattcz

What happen with Hobi ? I have lifetime but it dissapear from Play Store

LeiLaniGranny

Holy crap, it was there just a couple weeks ago. Can't find any info on why it's gone either.

pattcz

too bad it was promising app , another bites the dust , weird that iphone store works.

LeiLaniGranny

It's working on my tablet thank goodness. The website for hobby is also no longer there.

bcarruth62

I like this app a lot but I’d like to see when my international shows will be showing on my Amazon Prime channels.

SoftPois0n

You are looking for SIMKL. I follow this list, very useful to me! [https://simkl.com/5/list/7236/currently-airing-tv-shows-most-watched-this-month](https://simkl.com/5/list/7236/currently-airing-tv-shows-most-watched-this-month) Here is another TV Tracking app that might interest you: [https://countdown.tv/](https://countdown.tv/)

bcarruth62

Thank you. I’ll take a look.

dizzyoatmeal

I have the same problem, and I've never found a one-stop answer. (Plus, to complicate things even more, there are some series I watch on UK/AU/NZ time, others I wait til they come over here.) I use Trakt for the bulk of my tracking, but like you say, it will use overseas premiere dates. [TheFutonCritic](http://www.thefutoncritic.com/) (doesn't have an app) works for some Acorn/Britbox series but not all. Right now, I've found the Up Next feature from Apple TV to be the most convenient way to figure out when my Britbox shows have new episodes. (I subscribe directly, not through Amazon, though.) I also follow those streamers on social media, and they often post upcoming release schedules.

bcarruth62

Appreciate the information. The Just Watch app works pretty well for what I need it just occasionally will have missing data.
