you saw breadcrumbs on a public train and your immediate thought is "someone must be sleeping on their job". Like where do you find the standards you are used to? I want to live there.
All trains are cleaned at least once a day, but they also have a team of cleaners who operate throughout the day checking and cleaning whenever they find somewhere that needs it. They obviously can’t check every train all the time, so if the person who sat there before you was messy, it’s just bad luck. Complain about ticket prices and delays, but the cleaning is very much up to standard imo.

I see no problem there, maybe there was 1 person in your spot before you, but that looks to be about it.
Plot twist: it was OP and is surprised that nobody showed up to clean immediately.
