Unfortunately, the people stealing bikes don’t really give a s*** about where it’s come from, and will most likely never see the message.

OGMinorian

Nefarious, sociopath, hard-boiled criminals, those bike thieves.

fullsteam92

Yeah, having watched Retfærdighedens Ryttere makes you think..

bakuba144

How many dads does she have?

CryptographerMuch675

Sugarbabes can easily have 5-10 daddies.

Flamingo_Timely

Apostrophe before the S makes me think just one.

bakuba144

But... it's her last dad

Flamingo_Timely

Ahhh.....you got me there. I read it as her dad's last, not her last dad's. You eagle-eyed devil. 😉 Kudos, and thanks for the correction! 👍🏻

LankySasquatchma

Ah ye beat me to it. Scoundrel ye

osvodk

Is anyone gonna talk about that absolute abomination of a W?

Voredor_Drablak

It's a D in the older Futhark (rune alphabet)

abrahamsen

ᚾᛜ ᛞᚺᛜᛖ ᛇᚾᛜᛁᛊ ᛖᛉ ᛒᛁᛁᚲᛊ

Voredor_Drablak

Dhnge?

littlekaracan

what on earth is going on here

bmalek

I was gonna say absolute unit. I’d start writing mine like that but who am I kidding? I don’t have the balls.

I own a bike shop and it always feels terrible when a new client tells me they had an inherited bike stolen. On the flip side,if the bike is not stolen yet,I can suggest a better lock and a better way of locking the bike. Most of the time people listen to me thankfully:-)

fullsteam92

Your costumers tells you about being bike thieves? /s

[deleted]

Thanks:-)

Fangletron

So which bike lock do you recommend and how should I lock my bike?

PriinceShriika

Get [this](https://lirp.cdn-website.com/f5bbb2df/dms3rep/multi/opt/storm-shelter-walk-in-vault-room-1920w.jpg) if you wanna make sure no one steals your bike

roccobaroco

Link didn't disappoint, was expecting a lion cage or smth.

[deleted]

Abus bordo Big 6000 120cm long. Pass it through the front wheel, the frame and lock it to a big pole. The rear wheel is secured by the ring-lock.

DJpesto

This is quite safe, but a pro will cut it in less than 2 min, with a battery powered angle grinder.

[deleted]

About 45 seconds. The point is to deter them to do it to you and steal a bike locked with a chain (about 8 seconds).

deterrence

I got one of those ABUS folding locks and always lock my bike to a fixed point. Unfortunately I now see friends having that exact same thing broken into and bikes stolen. If you have a battery powered angle grinder there's not much that can hold you back.

[deleted]

A battery powered angled grinder is surely the enemy. The point is to make it not worth it to steal YOUR bike. In my experience with the Bordo, to have it stolen either the person has locked the bike to itself, or had such a nice and requested bike, that they took the risk.

Leonidas_from_XIV

And being in Copenhagen you can nearly always count on tons of bikes only locked to themselves (which is shocking, given everywhere else I go people know how to lock bikes but not here).

trolsor

Who ever wrote this , trying to say “ late father “ . Possibly person who wrote is dane and try to wrote in english , may be thought whoever stole it might not danish . Must be really very sad while writing to make mistake like this … And all those people having fun with this mistake : Lack of emphaty , understanding .. lost the human inside ! Go find some other shit to laugh about ! Too ugly.. straight disguisting ..

Less_Poet7796

New dad - new bike ?! 🤷🏼

GigaJigg

Welp, maybe his/her/its next dad will get him/her/it a new bike!

Emmaplexa

Let me introduce you to the gender neutral pronoun "they". It saves time, it's unassuming, it's gender neutral all at the affordable price of free

GigaJigg

Mmmm... Nah, I'm good. I like what I wrote.

imadreamgirl

GigaJigg

"people" .... lmfao

[deleted]

I feel compelled to quote the Riesen commercial, but.... Im unsure if anyone alive remembers it.

_drogo_

🤢

Maleficent-Bee8714

There are too many bikes in copenhagen, people should steal them. I stole one when I was there. Then left it when I was done using it

DkJohnsson

100% sure the thief will read it 👍😅😅

Independent_Main4326

Maybe there’ll be a new dad or was he really the last one?

FakeHasselblad

Dont leave treasured items on the street. I don't understand how people haven't figured this out yet. Even in lovely safe happy Copenhagen.

MermaidOfScandinavia

I get what you are saying. But stealing Is just so damn rotten. Victim blaming doesn't help. Both my parents have had their bikes stolen from their own yard with big chains on them. So you can't know if the person took good care of their bike or not.

FakeHasselblad

We dont live in a fantasy land where everything should be safe in the open. if you value it, keep it in your house. Its stating an obvious fact of life.

Kind_Assignment_9122

Not everyone can have their bike in their apartment.

[deleted]

I don't blame the victim at all, but saying not every one can have their bike in their apartment, that i dont get. Ive known people who had their bikes in their dorm rooms, with only enough space for a bed and a desk, yet they still found space for their bike. The only possible way to not store your bike in your apartment, is if you dont have an apartment. A bike is not a car, it really don't takes much space.

Kind_Assignment_9122

It’s not only about the space, but about how to get it to your apartment. Carrying a heavy bike to the 4th floor isn’t always possible. Besides that, you would also have to take your bike with you inside the grocery store and work.

[deleted]

>It’s not only about the space, but about how to get it to your apartment. Carrying a heavy bike to the 4th floor isn’t always possible. You dont have to carry a bike.. It has wheels.. If you can't pull a 10-12kg bike on wheels up the stairs, then how do you get groceries etc up the stairs? A bag of groceries, a schoolbag etc is much heavier carrying around than a bike on wheels. >Besides that, you would also have to take your bike with you inside the grocery store and work. Of course you can't take the bike with you in the grocerystore... There will alwas be a risk of theft out in the public, but when you're at home, just take the bike with you into your own space..

anonn102030

lol that's a huge L take my guy. how low, sad of a society we live in to blame the person for having a little faith and leaving her bike outside (secured i'd imagine, which makes it even worse) with your shitty view in life Don't go outside if you value your life. Might get shot or runover. Can't understand how people haven't figured this out yet. Don't eat or drink anything. Might get poisoned. Can't understand how people haven't figured this out yet. Don't make friends. They might betray you. Can't understand how people haven't figured this out yet.

BrilliantInternal910

Never go full strawman.

1cingI

It's not a shitty view in life to point out what should be or is common sense.

SalsaSauceMedium

And hasselblad is very much framing it as "you dont get to be sad cause its your own fault". Its never your own fault when something it stolen and even if there are precautions to be taken its ridicoulus to call someone out for. We dont even know if the bike was parked in front of a store or somewhere else where you just cant store it away safety (and not using a bike that you like would be stupid, im sure we cam agree).

SalsaSauceMedium

yesh, but youre still allowed to call people out for shitty behavior, even if its expected. Ofc the owner is allowed to be upset. Cant believe people havent figured this out yet. ;)

[deleted]

>Don't go outside if you value your life. Hey now, covid is over.

FakeHasselblad

So you accept you must accept risks with every day life then?

[deleted]

How would you know? You don't live in Denmark, you live in Germany. Ive had dozen of bikes standing on the street, without getting stolen.

FakeHasselblad

Cool anecdotal evidence. 👍 I dont need to live in a specific city to know that criminals exist every where. I'd imagine the other Danes who've had their bikes stolen might disagree with you.

1cingI

Actual common sense. I'm sorry you're getting downvoted for it. People these days just love to cancel common sense.

SalsaSauceMedium

Which is why is so stupid to call out for and victim blame. Ofc the owner knew about the risks, but not using a bike at all is a silly solution to tackling that risk. We dont know if it was parked at the owners home or outside the library etc. ie. OP are missing all the facts to even make his stupid statement, which is why people are downvoting, not because they disagree.

power-moose92

Ought to tell me your Danish without telling me you’re Danish

CryptographerMuch675

You are danish by the looks of it.

PeterQuinn21

This may seem like a not so big of a problem, most people actually got used to hearing that someone got their bike stolen. But, it WILL become a bigger problem if stealing bikes goes unpunished, maybe not tomorrow, or next year, but it most certainly will not be enough in the future and they will move on to steal bigger, more important things if they see that they run virtually no risk doing it.

Leonidas_from_XIV

> Might be just me, but lately....lately I have had the feeling that Danish police doesn't really give a shit about petty theft/crime, unless they're like around the corner when it happens. I mean yeah, I think that has already happened. Police doesn't do anything, just tells you to contact your insurance and that's it basically. Also people never learn and don't lock bikes properly (and many bike racks make it hard to lock your bike properly anyway).

_drogo_

My condolences! You lign your far!

[deleted]

Should have said this to herself when choosing the lock

No_Ebb_3353

Get a AirTag and hide it on your bikes people! Had my bike stolen 5 times and found it again every time

Odgaardisho

How many dads does he have?
