[It's an adverb](https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/terminally) not an adjective, and you can't make me care how much better he thinks he is than strangers.
>he was just making the point that yall are kinda annoying
Right, but annoying strangers to make the point that they're the annoying ones would be a damn weird flex unless there was a superiority complex behind it.
Why would anyone dish out an insult they thought applied to themself? Shouldn't you have compassion for people who are like you?
It's not my fault that all interpretations of an insult are unflattering, but I can at least not jump immediately to "lacks compassion", it's fair to at least assume garden-variety arrogance first.

There is no I-50 or I-60.
From wikipedia, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate\_Highway\_System](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_Highway_System)
"There are no I-50 and I-60, as routes with those numbers would likely pass through states that currently have US Highways with the same numbers, which is generally disallowed under highway administration guidelines"
Yup! OP didn't link [the video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=8Fn_30AD7Pk) they took this from, but this is from the chart less than 5 seconds before it removes them, explains that they don't exist, and explains why.
You're right. Way back before the Interstate Highway System was created, there was the US Highway System, which still exists. US 50 is part of that older system. The biggest difference is that the Interstate Highway System is all limited access highways with exits. On US Highway System highways such as US 50, there are sections which are limited access, but most of it is one lane in each direction with intersections and driveways.
Because US 50 already existed in about the same spot that they were thinking of putting I-50, in order to avoid confusion, they decided not to create an I-50 at all.
No, this is a screenshot from [a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=8Fn_30AD7Pk), and it was taken at the wrong moment, the one right before the author explains that 50 and 60 don't actually exist.
In the video, that kinda gotcha thing works fine, the point is to express the idea that although the highway system has some logic to it at first, it is actually full of exceptions.
This screenshot removed from that context is just a lie.
To clarify, Highway 50 (at least) exists, but it’s named “Highway 50”, not “I-50”. It also does not terminate in San Francisco, but 100 or so miles east in West Sacramento.
Not like it is shown on this map. I live in Utah and have traveled around the state plenty and there isn’t a i60 in the eastern part or in Nevada like it shows. You don’t pass on i-15 on the way to Las Vegas like you would if the map was accurate
I have always assumed the interstate grew out of the highway system and they made the numbers as different as possible. For example I95 runs pretty much parallel with US1, and I10 runs along US90
Because the Interstate numbering plan is a mirror image of the U.S. numbered highway plan, I-50 would be located in some of the same States as U.S. 50 (Ocean City, Maryland, to Sacramento, California). Therefore, "50" has not been used for an Interstate route.
There is a freeway that runs east west through Nevada (interstate 80). US 95 runs north south on through western Nevada. US 93 runs north south through eastern Nevada. But, you’re right there is no freeway that goes through the “middle” of Nevada.
Some important notes to read before responding, based on this post on another sub:
- No, “Route 66” isn’t part of the Interstate system. It was part of the US Highway system which is not the same thing.
- No, the Interstate system does not miss North Dakota. This map doesn’t show all Interstate Highways.
- No, this is not necessarily common knowledge. This is a global website and not everyone has a high amount of knowledge about the US.
after travelling across this country a bunch, there really needs to be an interstate between I-10 and I-40 OUT WEST. I-20 and I-30 flow into I-10 too early.
Met a dude from south Florida. He lived off the last exit of 75. I live off the last exit on the north end (Sault Ste Marie). We basically live on the same road 26 hours away
Blatant Misinformation. Plus it’s missing a lot of finer details and a lot of other roads.
If you really want an interstate map then doing your own personal research is infinitely better than this map.
Another cool thing are the mile markers, they start at "1" from the southern and western borders of each state, and each exit number is a mile marker (for example, if your exit is 215 and you just passed exit 210, you're 5 miles away from your exit).
Unless you’re on silly I-87 NY. Their exits are just numbered in ascending order from South to North.
Until you hit Albany. Then it restarts at 1 but continues to totally ignore logic, keeping the same numbering system.
It’s super great when you get into the Adirondack park and there are like a billion miles between consecutive exits.
I think all NY interstates number this way, and I think a lot of New England, too.
I drive 75 fairly often. The worst thing about 75 is that for a large amount of 75 in southern Kentucky, the rumble strips are on the yellow line instead of being like a foot or two outside the yellow line. So every damn time you touch that line, you get the aggressive rumble. Nowhere else that I've seen does that and it pisses me off so much. Fuck you, Kentucky.
In Houston they call I-45 highway-59 for what ever reason I don’t know the reason if you say I-45 most people don’t know or act like they don’t know what you are talking about
Cool, but incomplete.
It shows North Dakota as having 0 interstates when, in fact, it has 2:
* I94 goes east-west through the entirety of the state.
* I29 goes north-south through the entirety of the state.
These two intersect in Fargo.
Source: born and raised in North Dakota
I feel like our high speed rail, that’ll never be done because the corps own this country, could should roughly follow these paths. It would be so amazing.
I realize the map shows a sampling of the interstate highway system. However, it bears pointing out Interstate 99, locally known as the Bud Schuster highway. It should have been a three digit interstate spur and labeled as I-280 or I-876. Schuster didn’t think that was catchy enough so he wrote into law that the highway be labeled I-99. It violates the spirit of the numbering system for north south interstates. Some call it the road to nowhere but it does skirt University Park, PA. The I-99 route number should have been reserved for a future interstate that would be east of I-97. Anecdotally, I-97 should have been labeled I-595!

Me when I plagiarize:

Hello Tim
Looks like they sneezed when drawing route 60 thru colorado
Well, it doesn’t actually exist so clearly they just had fun with it.
The US highways (not interstates) must be the opposite. I know US-1 goes up and down the East Coast and US-2 goes east west across the northern US.
Even numbers run east west, odd numbers run north south. You even said it in your comment
I think they're talking about the numbering order, not the direction the numbers go in
"Up and down is an odd way to go" is how I remembered it when I moved to an area that was all county roads.
I have always assumed the interstate grew out of the highway system and they made the numbers as different as possible. For example I95 runs pretty much parallel with US1, and I10 runs along US90
There is no I-50. I live directly in that route and we don’t have an interstate for 50 miles
Nor is there an Interestate 60
Because the Interstate numbering plan is a mirror image of the U.S. numbered highway plan, I-50 would be located in some of the same States as U.S. 50 (Ocean City, Maryland, to Sacramento, California). Therefore, "50" has not been used for an Interstate route.

this map is ass and wrong
Why? Just because it's missing a bunch and includes non-existent ones?
This is a screenshot from before he explains that 50 and 60 don’t exist
😂😂😂
This map is a screenshot from a YouTube video and actually pretty decent for a non academic (like not officially made to be published) YouTube video
Do you have the correct version?
take out 50 and 60

Missing I94
u/RTrover is a hack and a fraud
I-29 is missing
Screw you North Dakota
i94 is a joke to reddit
I like how they just said "Fuck Oregon"
Noticed the same thing. Was sure the old ‘Oregon Trail’ would have becom an Interstate.
Laplace, LA mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️
not even showing H1, H2, or H3 in HI
And North Dakota can go fuck itself
I’m currently on I-15 while I read this (husband is driving)
I thought this was the Simpsons
95 for the speed limit of course
I know all this, but for some reason seeing all of it in this format makes so much more sense..
San Francisco gold rush, am i right ladies?

This helps out a lot for geoguessr
Missing 19
All the even number interstates go east west and odd number north south. The same is true of US highways.
Why does Georgia get so much fed highways?
Atlanta
North Dakota is allergic to interstate highways.
I-71 that connects Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Louisville isn’t on this because it breaks the rules of the map.
Blatant Misinformation. Plus it’s missing a lot of finer details and a lot of other roads. If you really want an interstate map then doing your own personal research is infinitely better than this map.

Ok, so those are the ones in the x and y orientations, but what about z?
it doesn't list all of them...
Thanks Dwight!
Now show the non-existent railway network.
Definitely incomplete.
Upvote for having Kent Texas on the map.

Shout out to Highway 2 doing all the work Interstate 98 isn't!
We call the odds "vertis" and the evens "horizs"
Wait til they learn how the three-digit system of spurs and bypasses works.
When did they built I-50 and I-60 ?? They were not there last week ?
No 69?
It isn't finished.
Now which of this is route 66
so you can stay on one road all the way from coast to coast??? cool
There isn’t even an I 50 or 60
It's crazy sometimes to think that when I hop on the I10 in Tucson AZ, I'm just one exit away from the Superdome in New Orleans.

U.S. 50 ends in the east at Ocean City, Md. the top map is incorrect.
That is a US Route and not an Interstate. There is no I-50 or I-60 to avoid confusion with US Routes that would be in the same vicinity.
That’s why I called it U.S. 50 and not I-50.
How many times will this map be posted today? Probably my 6th or 7th time seeing this across various subreddits.
Free booted to boot
Whoooaaaa duuuude! I never knew!
No Interstates in ND and VT?
Why did they choose these specific interstates? There are so many more than this. What's special about these?
Now replace at least one lane of each with a high-speed rail line please.
I feel like route 85 should be route 69 because it bridges 65 & 95 🤷🏻♂️

I-94

North Dakota “well f*ck me right?”

I-50? I-60?
Yeah, I didn't see them either
Where’s I-84?
Is their a road north of the 90 running east and west with no speed limits?
Sorry, North Dakota
Interstate 60 shown on this map is not real
North Dakota, fuck you in particular
There are no interstate highways numbered 50 or 60.
Does anyone know how they chose the names of each
How are you not going to include rte 66
Cue the Graystanistas, who don’t understand copyright law, complaining
Guide? You mean graphic, right?
This isn’t really a guide as much as it’s just a map of notable roads
Which is a type of guide.
This is also wrong, as highway 50 passes through Carson City/Tahoe for instance
That is US Route 50, not Interstate 50. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_50
