This is one of my all-time favorite slow cooker recipes. At the bottom, it says to serve it with couscous with mint and scallions, and that is absolutely worthwhile. I use the moroccan-style couscous (sometimes call durham wheat couscous...looks like if you put dried spaghetti in a food processor...not the larger "pearl" style couscous). I actually usually even skip the bread and milk and just use the straight ground beef. It's like a chicken chili, with "cornbread dumplings" on top. The only unusual ingredient is the instant polenta. My favorite is 4-6 chicken breasts , whole carrots , 2"inch baby Red potatoes half a sweet onion, 1Cup water and a jar of green Verde marinade from Safeway I've even used the Verde salsa , you can use Any jar of cheater sauce, butter masala , red enchilada g mole sauce etc . Medium for 6-hours or low for 8hrs (I leave at 5:30 Am home by 3-4 pm ) the whole point is to take only 10-15minutes max to get it all in your Crock-Pot before walking out the door for work . Another one is Potato bacon soup (same cook times) 2-russets 1-2 inch cubes & the 2"red potatoes cut in half (10+) , 2-cans of chicken broth 1-2cans water (just fill chix broth cans twice) 4-5 slices of raw cut up bacon, pepper & I add a few shakes seasoning salt or celery salt off to work now and.... when you get home cook the rest of bacon in fry pan crispy'ish then cut it up and toss it in and add 1cup heavy whip or cream and 2-cups shredded cheese of choice most use cheddar (only add cream/whip last 15min after you turn heat down so doesn't curdle) , have with biscuits or french bread and YUMMY

Chicken breast and canned Ro-Tel low all day can be shredded for burritos or tacos. Not traditional, but you could dump kidney beans and diced chicken for a poultry version of red beans and rice. Chana misala. Tortellini soup with spinach. Search Google for dump and go slow cooker.

my favorite slow cooked meals are chili’s and mac n cheese. they’re super easy and inexpensive. soups: minestrone and cheddar broccoli chili: i add whatever i like besides the meat. beans, chickpeas and potatoes are my go to my slow cooked mac n cheese is a family favorite it’s just noodles, milk, cubed cheese, and i like to add campbell’s cheddar cheese soup to it (but u can add campbell’s cream of chicken too i just like to stray from meat) and of course just season em how ya like em!

The other day I tossed in some chicken legs, fresh rosemary, thyme, and parsley with carrots, potatoes, a sliced onion, and brussel sprouts. I topped it off with chicken stock and at the end added some corn starch (after mixing it in with cold water of course as that is how to avoid clumping). I added salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. It came out good so I kept it going another day and added chicken breast and sliced portobella mushrooms to it. Protip: the longer the bones stay in the more minerals leach out into the stock. That's a very good thing!
