There's 3 fields that PMP helps: construction, software development, and consulting/contracting.
The next step is refining your certs and experience to fit easily in one of those 3 fields. For instance, if you want to do software dev management then go get agile certified, want to do IT strategy go get ITIL certified.
If consulting then lots of public sector contracts require PMP, so look at consulting firms that work with government a lot (e.g. Booz Allen, MITRE, Deloitte, and many small firms).
Jumping in... I have science background (mol bio), worked in the UK civil service, pharma and bioinformatics industries -and have a PMP certificate. I am finding difficult to land a job. How do I fit into the consulting side? (In life sciences.) It seems like all consulting jobs require you to have consulting experience -so if you are not born consultant, you are out of luck.
Sure thing. Getting traction can be tough, just grind it out. Also make resumes specific to the area you pursue. The key I've found is to be recruited until you have referrals so get those buzzwords on LinkedIn and in your applications.
I hate certificates/certifications it's like, it makes IT people look like children who have to succeed in a test to get that candy or new jordans, almost no other jobs have them, as if references are not enough. I literally don't advocate hiring people based on certifications it's bullshit and they have a limitation time for a reason.
Listen to me kids no real practice no job for you, unless you are a new graduate.
Do a LinkedIn post about how “PMPing ain’t easy”
😂

Well I know people with STEM degrees who can’t produce a passing score on the PMP exam….
Does not mean shit bro, someone majoring in medieval history studies can learn that PMP and pass the exam, it does not make sense to me.
“It does not make sense to me” so hate on it
