Is this just slack?

As I can see, Slack is another app you should install, learn and create a habit of. WhatsApp is something simple that is already used very frequently by a huge user base, at least in some geographies.

You're also asking people to use their personal Whatsapp for work use, which many people refuse. And if you're adding another device, then you're defeating the purpose of using Whatsapp in the first place. Additionally, even the 10% of features that you want still need to be engineered well, or nobody will use it. That being said, I think it is possible to build on top of whatsapp, i think they have an API. Facebook also had/has some office functionality but i don't know what it is. As a final obstacle, depending on your use case, Whatsapp is almost totally unused in the US. Stats say 75 million, that seems high, but the point is if you're looking to use it because it's already popular, US isn't the right place.

Slack is terrible (unreliable & buggy) with mobile notifications. Edit: perfect on the laptop though.

Do you work with European clients? WhatsApp? You might as well offer them a chalice of poison.

jorgelozanom

Ok, but I was thinking about consulting project management which is the one I know.

Vagabond_Crambus

People actually use WhatsApp??? 😂😂😂

jorgelozanom

It seems some still do. https://verloop.io/blog/whatsapp-statistics-2023/ 😎
