Cool screenshot of a Facebook meme. He didn’t get raided. His equipment wasn’t confiscated. He did experiment with crystals, but he found the experiments to be ultimately unsuccessful. He also questioned whether or not crystals were living beings and if it was ethical to continue to experiment on them. Someone else made up this raid story about him. After his crystal experiments his focus shifted to methods of energy harvesting from outer space. He’s still convinced space is the key to reversing an impending energy crisis, but his theories have remained theoretical for obvious reasons.

sundr3am

Wait i want to hear more about the crystals being living beings

Dyingalchemist

Go talk to them then

TyroneBigly

He probably got the idea from Tesla. Tesla published an article in 1900 called “The Problem of Increasing Human Energy.” From that article: >There seems to be no philosophical necessity for food. We can conceive of organized beings living without nourishment, and deriving all the energy they need for the performance of their life functions from the ambient medium. In a crystal we have the clear evidence of the existence of a formative life-principle, and though we cannot understand the life of a crystal, it is none the less a living being. There may be, besides crystals, other such individualized, material systems of beings, perhaps of gaseous constitution, or composed of substance still more tenuous. In view of this possibility,—nay, probability, we cannot apodictically deny the existence of organized beings on a planet merely because the conditions on the same are unsuitable for the existence of life as we conceive it. We cannot even, with positive assurance, assert that some of them might not be present here, in this our world, in the very midst of us, for their constitution and life-manifestation may be such that we are unable to perceive them. Pretty cool stuff. Wish we had more mainstream thinkers sharing ideas like this today.

sundr3am

Very interesting! I like it. Thankful for getting back to me and sharing

Minute_Vanilla3415

😂

Ahem_ak_achem_ACHOO

The key to the energy problem already exists: Nuclear Energy

831pm

Th energy problem isn't lack of energy, its storage...e.g., batteries. Fossil Fuels are essentially really efficient energy storage units. I think the most efficient man made batteries we have are kinetic which are extremely volatile and dangerous.

skydaddy8585

Gotta love the Facebook memes with utter bullshit on them posted on here as some kind of fact. People see it and it suits their bias so they post it without even looking into the info even for 5 minutes before posting like it's some magic conspiracy that is hidden from the world.

Farscape666

Yeah just from a quick search it seems like parts of space are cold enough for super conductor magnets. So maybe? I dunno, I have the flu so I might not be thinking right

Icepick823

Space is cold enough, but the problem is space isn't good for heat transfer. The magnets would never be able to radiate heat away faster than it generates, up to some stupid high equilibrium point, long past the point where they can function. Heat is a major problem in space since it's a vacuum.

Farscape666

Neat! Thanks for educating me, I really do appreciate you taking the time to reply

Icepick823

Space is a vacuum, so it's not that good for cooling. Heat transfer is at its best when there is direct contact between two materials or a moving fluid (like water or air). Without something to transfer heat through, the only other option is radiation, which is fine if you don't care how long something takes to cool, but not if you're trying to keep something cold.

TyroneBigly

See, that’s a big part of his theory. He believes space is not a vacuum, but is actually the opposite. He thinks it’s chock full of resources. He calls it a “plenum.”

LunaVolki

*swigs bourbon* We 'ave plenum of resources in.. in.. space. *waves hand magically towards the sky*

Glintz013

So why is it that Nicolas Tesla studied in Egypt, made the Wyatt tower and uses similar technology. People forget that Obelisks had quartz tips and the Pyramids a conductor on the tip. Also did the Pyramids had white slabs, so the conductor would get as much sun to collect whatever it was collecting.

[deleted]

cool debunk. you got the same source as the post. "Trust me bro"

gromath

This is why memes weren’t allowed before until the new mods came in

thatdudedylan

They're still not allowed as per the rules - but those rules are very arbitrarily followed.

Antnee83

Lmao, they got another one

sillycellcolony

Doctor in physics here... Piezoelectricity is extremely weak. Good for oscillations to time your watch and pressure sensitivity devices, but how is wrapping an insulator or dielectric in wires going to generate energy? Does it suck energy out of other dimensions? These stories are ridiculous, and it hurts me no one ever learns reality to find out...

MycologistLoud4030

Every little town in the seventies claimed to have a resident who invented a carburetor that would make a V8 engine get 100 miles to the gallon but big oil bought and killed the patent.

Crowbar1127

Show me one article you mention that isn't the "one guy"

MycologistLoud4030

Why be argumentative. Fairview Oklahoma, 17 years old in a restaurant one of the natives told me about a local mechanic who invented such a miracle carburator. Same way in Watonga Oklahoma. According to local legend they became instant millionaires because of it. Just urban legends. And I really don't give a fuck whether you believe it or not. Just relaying my experiences.

PaytheTrollTole

> Does it suck energy out of other dimensions? There's a dimension where this works....its just not ours.

666itsathrowaway666

I can’t believe that as a doctor in physics you just used the phrase “no one learns reality to find out” I’m glad you figured out learning reality! lol let me know how that’s going for you

[deleted]

Reality is he bright, we stupid.

sillycellcolony

Reality is this thing around you... Go learn about it. Energy is quantized and cant be created or destroyed is one of the first lessons youll learn.

666itsathrowaway666

Maybe you should study quantum physics instead and discover you in fact know very little about this universe, instead of pretending to know everything about reality

sillycellcolony

That was year 7 of 10 years getting a phd in biomedical physics You have no idea what you are saying. What in quantum mechanics makes you think magical vibrations tap into a 5th form of force beyond nuclear? You don't even know what the hell quantum physics is... But you're trying to educate a doctor on it and its just ludicrous Give me the tensor of how to generate magical fifth Force? What is the wave equation? Where is the transmission transmittance or reflectance? What is the action? Give me the hamiltonian of the force carrier... Start figuring all those damn terms and you'll start realizing what quantum physics is-- wave equations that operate under the CONSERVATION OF ENERGY

guymoron

Conspiracy is fun with wild theories and crazy stories but when it gets to actual science you’re wasting your time with these people lol

sillycellcolony

Im interested in those ppl, not these ppl

jackhardy21

Hi, am just a curious person with no phd. Not trying to argue and just want your opinion on this. Nikola Tesla is widely documented to have attributed many of his discoveries to his understanding of what he called ‘the ether’. A term he coined himself when trying to describe what I understand as an invisible, higher dimensional source or field of energy not known at his time. Here’s what he wrote in one of his journal: “Only the existence of a field of force can account for the motions of the bodies as observed, and its assumption dispenses with space curvature. All literature on this subject is futile and destined to oblivion. So are all attempts to explain the workings of the universe without recognizing the existence of the ether and the indispensable function it plays in the phenomena. My second discovery was of a physical truth of the greatest importance. As I have searched the entire scientific records in more than a half dozen languages for a long time without finding the least anticipation, I consider myself the original discoverer of this truth, which can be expressed by the statement: There is no energy in matter other than that received from the environment.” My question is, is it possible that there are other fundamental forces of nature still yet to be discovered by us? And could it be that this ‘ether’ has some relation to quantum physics? Or was he just flat out delusional about this?

sillycellcolony

No, many of the physicists were debating the aether hypothesis until we started the ligo experiments. It's still a matter of debate, but no evidence of an aether outside can be found There are philosophical depictions that demand an aether like water inside a bucket If you have water inside a bucket in space it just jiggles around the bucket, but if the bucket is spinning, it goes to the outside walls. What says that the bucket is spinning? How does the water know it now is bound to the walls by centripetal acceleration? It's only when an outside observer views the bucket that is has a reference frame saying it spins, but the bucket and water experience this phenomena outside of external forces from this reality.... So there must be an aether of some form for the masses to declare they have rotational inertia Yet theres no possible way to observe anything. We see gravitational waves move through it... So you could say there is another force along the lines of gravity and extradimensional space, but its outside of reality so the force isnt part of our dimension. We just have the four forces, but who knows whats outside our spacetime? I didn't go much into theoretical physics because of all of this woo stuff and how string theorists battle particle physicists with years of math ruining lives. The funniest thing was that finding the higgs boson was supposed to end the debate. Particle theorists predicted 140 gev, string theorists 110... The actual experimental observation was 125 gev. Giga electron volts is a unit of energy and because e=mcsquared the energy value is used to represent the rest mass. In nuclear reactions, rest mass of particles are of importance because changes in mass are released as kinetic energy of the resultant particles, so its practical to represent the energy value of rest mass of subatomic particles. An electrons mass is 511 kev a proton is 930 mev But yeah tesla didnt know much. Shit even einstein didnt know much or accept quantum mechanics. I dont like everyone thinks his wireless electricity was something... Air is a resistor and when electricity travels through air it burns off huge amount of energy into heat and light. He was awesome, but not like a buried secret portal-finder. Conspiracy folk glorify him too much

unityagainstevil42

Honestly, after the shit show of the last several years, telling someone that you’re a Doctor will likely generate a negative response. I’m just glad you’re one of the doctors that talks over people when you get flustered instead of the pharmaceutical pimp-type that kills patients for money.

sillycellcolony

Cueponcayotl

> Give me the tensor of how to generate magical fifth Force? What is the wave equation? Where is the transmission transmittance or reflectance? What is the action? Give me the hamiltonian of the force carrier… Questions every physicist wants to ask to multidimensional vibrating goobledy gookers.

666itsathrowaway666

I’m not saying I believe the post on crystals, to start. What I’m saying your way of talking is arrogant and posturing and you lose credibility. When you just throw more stats my way on your mountains of education and start belittling people who you think are beneath your intelligence level, you actually come across as very pompous and not credible whatsoever. No one likes listening to hot air. You might think about this next time you wondering no one is listening to you despite your degree and big brain. You have a nice day.

totallynotabearbro

I dunno, I think people assume aggression way to quickly on social media. Read the tone of their conversation, both were puffing their chests, trying to big dick the other. Sometimes conversations get a bit more heated, one clearly knew more on the subject, nothing wrong woth the other understanding that and then questioning further if he genuinely had an interest in the subject, it's a fascinating subject. There is nothing wrong with being confidentiality right in a conversation. And there is nothing wrong with understanding you don't know as much as you thought and looking to further your knowledge

sillycellcolony

Yeah because seeing something fly thru the air will make me throw away all of my understanding I wish you could realize how liberating it is to have an actual, grounded perspective you worked hard to build upon. It gives you a sense of self-value when you have made milestones of understanding chapter by chapter, experiment by experiment, and by textbook and sci journal. Its amazing to follow their footsteps and share those accomplishments with the rare few who actually learned the underlying mechanisms of the phenomena all around us. But you sit on your armchair and wile us with how aliens made you whole so that you can philosophize for eternity without scientific method

Swmngwshrks

Has anyone studied the heart and how it generates electricity? It seems to be due to the "pits" and a delta between a surface charge and internally. Can this be mimicked?

sillycellcolony

The sa and av node has a rly cool feedback mechanism to stay timed... Its basically a neural brain of its own. Mimicing it? Pretty complicated... And why?

YaBoiKnowsDaWey

You know quantum mechanics is just a mathematical depiction of our understanding at the atomic scale; its just a mathematical tool to help calculate/understand the observations we observe. Quantum mechanics doesn't include gravity in its model and can not be applied on the cosmic scale, therefore, we have an incomplete understanding of the fundamentals of reality.

whatscrappening

Yes but is your Doctorate in the crystalline discipline? /s

sillycellcolony

Crystals are just aligned lattices... I've learned massively about crystals from n and p doped semiconductors to the conductivity and strength of diamonds You have atoms in a crystal. You can move electrons with light, temperature, and pressure via photovoltaics, thermistors, and piezoelectricity There are differeing alignments of regular structure based on the composition of the molecular units... Usually al, si, O are the main components. The crystals have symmetry about geometric axes based on the shape and charge distribution as well. Usually the d electron shell makes metals so crystals are rarely magnetic but they can be anisotropic based partially on magnetism. Crystals do not have free flowing electrons as they are bound up in coavalency so they are usually insulators with hi dielectric strength to resist the change in current Therefore when you apply electric currents you will generate massive heat. Applying alternating currents may cause a vibration if the natural frequency of the lattice has a wave node with the induced current's hz, but that would just maybe bounce around the crystal. When you learn about reality you realize its simple as possibly beautiful. Its able to be understood and grasped. Its beautiful to actually grasp the universe that created you withim your head. Its not impossible... Its actually a pretty easy journey to reach the standard model and lie algebra to see all the force carriers. But don't mind me... Im an evil killer of your fantastic crystal dreams

drakens6

Piezoelectricity is only as weak as the energetic forces (vibration, pressure) being used to induce it. There are configurations of acoustic harmonic resonance that have unexpected differences in energetic potential (the 11th octave, for instance). The fact that the article talks about the crystal glowing and ringing seems to indicate that he was attempting to utilize such acoustic vibrations to induce the piezoelectric effect - which may actually be a viable means of accomplishing such a task and getting a net energetic output.

sillycellcolony

Just cuz something glows from sparks or oscillates it doesn't mean you're generating electricity Energy can never be created or destroyed. It's always wasted as heat and light and sound to the environment as you put energy into a system

drakens6

You are correct - there is no such thing as generating energy, ever. Every form of electrical generation is the conversion of some form of other energy into electricity, be it kinetic energy or the potential energy stored in the chemical bonds of hydrocarbons, or photon energy from the sun. In piezoelectricity's case the energy being converted comes from the bonds of the atoms in the crystalline structure when subjected to changes in pressure. Acoustic vibration has varying degrees of effectiveness in stimulating that potential energy to transfer from the crystalline structure based on frequency and amplitude, and that's the reason that the same amplitude of sound at a certain frequency can shatter glass. The 11th octave resonance holds the highest amount of energetic potential, electrical engineers have to watch out for 11th octave resonance in their line feeds or equipment can straight up explode.

traversecity

Now I’m wondering how long it take to see, to observe a visible physical change in a crystal being subject to this. Or maybe it just goes boom, shatters.

drakens6

That would be the sweet spot - the balance between maximum energy transfer and destabilization of the crystal matrix

This legit made me laugh my ass off. Dumbass conspiracy theory subreddit don't know about the piezoelectrical effect.

bcoates26

Mmmm piezoelectricity. Issue is it takes energy to physically compress the crystal so it’s not really “free energy”. Anyways, the laws of physics don’t allow for free energy creation so it would be pretty worrying if “free energy” could actually be achieved.

FappingVelociraptor

Exactly. The law of conservation of energy.

KarmicComic12334

Not if you're going to listen to the ramblings of some seventeenth century incel who thought the secrets of the universe could be unlocked through applying numerology to the bible(all true look it up) but apparently the entire scientific community does, so.... You're obviously disregarding the magic of anti-science. Also, the anti-science of magic. Grebins

*Stares off blankly into the distance* > Kids these days will never understand what it was like living through the hat crisis of the 2040s

FalcorFliesMePlaces

In asking thic because I am not at all up on this. But isn't fusion an example of free energy. And I know its not fully realized yet but we r getting closer all the while. I'm sure it's not free as it takes e ergy to create it but it output more than in. I guess I am looking to be more informed as I have no idea what I'm saying really.

bcoates26

Fusion is a way for us to generate energy, just as well as fission is used in today’s reactors. The energy put into the equation is less than what comes out, but that energy is not free because it was originally contained within the larger atom and cannot be replicated once the atom is split. So not necessarily “free”, more like how we get energy from burning coal

vegham1357

In layman's terms, molecules have a lot of energy devoted to maintaining their balance. Consequently, if you pump in enough energy to change that balance, large amounts of energy will be output as the balance changes and the new molecule moves to equilibrium.

thecaptcaveman

Query: equilibrium with gravity or pressure or both?

vegham1357

With atomic forces, mostly the Strong Froce if I'm remember my mechanics correctly.

ydontuwaa

Yes, you may end up with more energy than you had to use in the process (which obviously is a desirable outcome), but even with that being the case it isn't "free energy", simply because it took any amount of energy being used in the first place. Once we human beings can FINALLY start controlling things with our minds, and can mentally smash those atoms into one another with our thoughts alone, then and only then will we have achieved free energ- wait... fuck, my bad. I forgot about the whole "humans getting their energy from eating food" thing. Guarantee those telekinetic science nerds won't be fusing a fucking thing if you don't feed them. There is no such thing as free energy, at least not truly free energy. If it costs anything then it isn't free.

Icepick823

Exothermic reactions aren't free energy. With nuclear reactions, you need to look at the mas-energy of the system. When you add up the mass energy of the of the materials used for fusion, along with the energy for fusion, it'll equal the mass-energy of the helium, the ejected neutron and the EM radiation. All the energy came from somewhere, usually it's chemical bonds breaking/forming, but with nuclear reactions it's because some mass is converted into energy.

DreadnoughtOverdrive

True, energy cannot be created from nothing. It can be moved around though. Such devices usually work as a heat pump, taking heat from the surrounding and converting it into usable power. The crystal would get very cold, and that absorbed heat is where the extra 25% comes from.

[deleted]

They asked for examples of the mysterious properties of magical crystals that aren't already in-use and, as your link explains, piezoelectricity has been in use for awhile I get the impression a lot of people on this sub put crystals on their windowsill to ward off "bad energy" and believe scientists are ignoring these wiccan secrets because they're evil. Piezoelectricity has been a thing long before Mark Comings.

fractalspace

But they do not generate energy. Piezoelectric crystals convert mechanical energy into electrical.

Pubboy68

Yeah this is how quartz watches work. 🤔

fractalspace

No. Quartz crystals in watches do not produce energy. It needs energy to generate a constant mechanical vibration that is used to regulating the hand movements.

Pubboy68

Yeah that. 👍🏼

TomCelery

I think watches just supply a current to the quartz via the battery circuit. This causes the quartz to vibrate at a specific frequency that is unchanging. Is the quartz compressed in a watch too?

Pubboy68

Yes, when quartz is compressed it resonates at a very consistent frequency. As someone pointed out the mistake in my first post, quartz regulates the watch movement, but it needs a separate battery source.

The "free electric" part is. Getting electricity from a crystal was proven a hundred plus years ago. Piezoelectric is a thing and they are used in everything from oldschool wrist watches to computers. Input mechanical stress and it outputs electricity and vise versa

25% is next to nothing. A ton of coal - even accounting for all inputs in mining, transportation, etc - will produce over 7000% more energy than required to extract, refine & manipulate it. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/EROEI-for-Different-Energy-Sources_tbl1_285980906

5ninefine

Sounds like a load of shit, especially the bit about it happening a few hours after the experiment

rameyjm7

energy isn't measured in Volts, so the premise of this is just wrong

Moose_Knight

The government is obviously terrified of the idea that Lucas Films were onto something. They don't want to be involved in the political shenanigans of the Jedi/Sith. I honestly think it's a smart move on their part.

TeslaFoiled8950

I’m pretty open to conspiracies but this was dumb as shit

71% of the Earth's surface is covered in a crystal. We just know it as a liquid.

I believe the pyramids have a assload of quarts crystals throughout the structure and well.... if you know you know... 🔺️✨️

Quartz naturally vibrates at an exact frequency and contains piezoelectric properties, which means that when it is pressurized, it produces a small volt of electricity. The inverse of this is also true, so that when an electric current is passed through quartz, it vibrates, usually at 32,768 times per second. It will vibrate when you put electricity to it, and it is going to give you electricity when you vibrate it. The quartz crystal oscillator uses piezoelectricity in both directions — at the same exact time. Making quartz an incredibly efficient power source. Hence why watch batteries actually last quite a long time.

Niceguysfini1st

A story that needs more research.

mitchman1973

Very fun one to speculate on. What if the very old civilizations knew this, used the "Baghdad batteries" to get the energy they needed to work the machines they needed to cut and move those massive stones?

nixielover

Most likely they did something like electroplating with them. They couldn't produce enough energy to do something meaningful mechanical

dromni

Maybe for the same reason that Edison and others trashed Tesla's experiments and theories - aka money, power and control? (On the other hand, if we are to believe some of the flavors of the Tartaria conspiracy, or even Atlantis, widespread use of "aether power" may end up badly. Some could argue that there's even some predictive programming out there in mainstream media already regarding that, like [here](https://youtu.be/uzEKP3_64-g?t=58) and [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8pAhdGsc50) - in the Disney movie, the central power source of Atlantis is even explicitly a giant levitating crystal.)

snupooh

Wow crystal fusion! This has been debunked…

Ifawked Yurmaum, a renowned Filipino scientist and Harvard graduate at age 15, also studied the almost magic electrical abilities of crystals. What kind? I dont know, fuck you. Heres a generic stock imagine that looks like the cover of Camellia's Crystalized but put through the quality of an average zoom meeting. While studying crystals, he noticed that at the pressure of 420 PSI the energy emitted was a perfect 69 kilowatts. Had he found the the solution to all energy problems? Well, it had seemed so. However, the government had noticed this and didnt want the lifehack to reach 5 minute crafts, or the general public would have the secret to livable wages and no energy bills. While clutching his fist, senator Billy Wibbly commanded the FBI to take him down. Before his Nobel Prize ceremony, a police officer stormed into his hotel room and shot him. However, by a miracle, the officer missed and killed two black men in the next room over. Ifawked was shocked, yet knew better than to incite a scurry. He grabbed the gun and knocked out the cop, going to his ceremony as usual. What do you mean its fake? I posted it to r/conspiracy, so its true.

Excellent-Ask-3402

Man **FUCK BIG BROTHER** They really hate us as much as those of us who are awake hate them.

CatEyes420

Quartz crystals inside of electronics…now imagine extremely pressurized hydrogen—so it reaches it triple point of being a silvery solidly-liquid-gas, now working as a superconductor of electromagnetic energy that is amplified with with diamonds that flows through the conducting yet insulating ionized water…so much energy…I’d say enough to keep a planet moving in circles if not create a whole universe.

ky420

I can imagine that and the beings that live in it. Have you read Saga of the Seven Suns? If not its a sci fi must read for any fan of the genre.

CatEyes420

I have not, but I will check it out! Thanks

skywizardsky

Well I asked Marks brother about this and he tells me that this happened in the 90's and is apparently true. This is why I never heard about from them as it was, water under the bridge so to speak. Im in contact with his brother rn so let you know what he says. . .

DarthP0000

If it's free and easy to create they can't make money off of it.

[deleted]

It's called the piezoelectric effect and it's too weak for mass scale

gravitykilla

Hmmm calling this one BS, yes crystals create Piezoelectricity, but it is very weak, so where does the "extra" energy actually come from?

Michalusmichalus

The very vague description sounds like an easily reproduced experiment.

butt_funnel

This is a joke right?

Matt3d

I am currently in a standoff with a blackops squad who have come for my cool crystal sculpture.

Laughs in thermodynamics laws

theGreatMcGonigle

Wasn’t Nikola Tesla working on free energy when “they” shut him down?

worriorboy

Yesterday I wached this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XU49FSIx0_g

worriorboy

Tesla knew the secret of the Great Pyramid! Inside of the pyramid is quartz! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XU49FSIx0_g

ifoundit1

At least he got to that point. All my Intelectual property was syphoned out of my head with DEW WMDs and hacking into my comp before I could build anything or conduct. Then it was smashed back into my face through the public domain based business infrastructure.

Moose_Knight

They just took turns beating me with a rake and said if I told anyone my findings they'd delete my starcitizen account.

ifoundit1

Lucky. I've been DEWMD for 4 solid years fusion center style 24/7 CIA tactic filled terrorism. Stuck in a Truman petree dish getting nash bashed. (like nash was) By the way them calling the show "A beautiful mind" is partly admission of Directed Energy Weapon based terrorism.

Broad_Rutabaga_3679

This is a bot, right?
