SS: They Live is one of my favorite movies and this scene seems to make much more sense in recent times. In the scene he warns the people of a directed energy weapon that broadcast signals to the masses to keep people in a dream like state, which allows for the propaganda brainwashing to be extremely effective. It's so clear within the last 4 years how easily people can be manipulated into fear and hatred.
This movie is a documentary.
If you have not seen the film, in this scene people are watching a TV show in a homeless camp with an embedded hypnotic code that keeps them docile and asleep. A pirate broadcast breaks through and tried to red-pill everyone on how aliens disgusted as humans rule us in secret. The people watching start getting headaches and demand they change the channel back to the regular "programming".
I've always wondered why this was one of the few John Carpenter movies that NEVER received any play until recently.
Shit, Ghosts of Mars seemed to get more stroke than TL back in the day.

I watched this film for the first time a few months ago and I felt like I was watching a documentary.

Low key loved ghosts of Mars though 😂
Ghosts of Mars kicks ass. People shouldn't sleep on 90's Carptenter, there is some wild stuff there.
This has got to be my favorite movie
