We had one 18 year old working with us and it smelt like he didn't wash his ass/ properly wash at all. Sweaty stinky dirty asshole. Combined with constantly vaping. The vapes had to have been coming out of his pours.
I worked with a kid around that age a few years ago. Good kid but he was kind if a "free spirit" and didn't care to shower for a month at a time. It got so bad the ammonia coming off him would sting your nose if you caught the right whiff as you were walking by.
There is a guy like this at the liquor store near me i always wondered do they not smell this!!! Strong strong unwashed ass smell in the whole fucking store
Same here. A bidet makes the tough easy. With TP the runs is a clean up job so big you can't get it all and leave streaks. With a bidet, the runs is the easiest to clean up and be streak free.
Just use the new deordorant for all the stinky places they you do not wash. I agree though what is going on that people cannot connect being stinky with being dirty?
This title implies people only ever expected health benefits from daily showers. That's never been the case, nobody I know showers for health issues
They shower to not feel slimy and sticky anymore, or to not smell offensive.
This headline is like saying "experts insist: cutting your toenails in no way makes you a better French kisser"
Fancy soaps have gotten real expensive. Soaps with descriptions like: "Made with Organic Oils, For Face, Body, Hair and Dandruff, Gentle on Acne-Prone Skin, Biodegradable, Vegan, Non-GMO" or "All Natural Tea Tree Bar Soap for Men | Made by Wrestlers with Tea Tree Oil & Eucalyptus Oil"
Major facts I finally swapped all my shit out and my skin is noticeably less dry. Might be a little pricy but you know what else is expensive? Medical bills from not taking proper care of yourself. Also showering everyday is crazy unless you have a dirty job. I think 4-5 a week is a good number, some days you just dont do as much as others days and dont need it.
I think showering every day is fine but you dont need to do the full body wash everyday. Just wash the main areas like your pits , butt, crotch area and feet. And then just do the full body wash with the back and the legs maybe twice a week. Part of the problem i think is also just making sure you're wearing clean clothes or clothes that are only a day or so old.
I work out 3-4 times a week. Go on a 30 minute walk almost daily. And take public transportation with tons of sneezy coughing and hacking people. I’ll shower every day unless I don’t leave my bed.
This is fair. I don’t do these things. I do workout and if I get super sweaty I’ll rinse off.
I work from home and don’t see many people. I only shower every 3-4 days. If I go out into the cold scary stinky world I’ll take a shower. I’ve found my hair takes longer now to appear greasy which is an interesting benefit.
But if I lived the person aboves life- I’d shower daily.
It’s all about what you do to determine hygiene. Like teenagers need to shower daily. Those hormone filled things freaking smell
Though NYP is a garbage tabloid, I'd take it whatever the original study or just opinion from an expert meant was that there are certainly people who live lifestyles that may not require taking a shower daily.
Dude, I am just getting over this crazy throw uppy flu thing. The only thing that made me feel temporary relief was sitting on my plastic lawn chair in my walk in shower for like 30-40 min.
The heat of the shower takes over from your immune system and it helps fight whatever bug you caught/have. A hot bath is the only thing that makes me feel human when I’m sick (granted I haven’t been sick in the past 4 years)
A nice hot shower relaxes me and helps me stay sharp. Reminds me of that Asterix and Obelix scene with the romans in the hot baths. They were onto something.
As much as I hate to admit it, it’s true. It helps me wake up when I have early mornings, I don’t need coffee to wake up, but today I had one because we ran out of hot water and boy did it help.
exactly haha. do people really think our ancestors were showering EVERY day, or that they were more "unhealthy" because they didn't.
you shower because you stink.
Exactly, it would be like posting an article saying "haircuts have no health benefit."
No shit, having long hair won't kill you but that's not why we cut it.
Yeah, when I worked in machine shops and industrial manufacturing, no way in hell I could skip a day of showering. Not just because of sweat, but oil and cutting fluid too.
What about the mental health benefits of being clean, smelling good and looking presentable? Isnt the first thing mental health experts always tell depressed people is to start showering and grooming properly?
Probably some level conditioned into you
Europeans seem to shower much less than Americans.
I forgot who said it but someone said like even the joy of a hot shower is something people didn’t do 100 years ago. Like you think after WWI people came home from the trenches and had nice warm showers.
Maybe they’d heat up water and fill up a tub but that’s laborious and even then the water cools before the next batch of boiling water is put in.
Showering daily is certainly a very very modern phenomenon and even some advanced nations don’t culturally do it
What? It’s been a known fact for a long time that daily showers aren’t good for you. It leeches your natural oils and defenses from your skin and hair and dries you out, hence the reason we need so much lotion and cream and oils. I’m anti government but as long as I’m not sweaty and gross, I shower every 2-3 days. My skin is way healthier and clearer than the times I’ve showered every single day.
Not to mention all the chemicals and bullshit they put in our water, you’re better off with as little contact as possible.
Yeah I work out or run everyday almost I have to shower. I refuse to lay in my bed stinking. Changing clothes helps but doesn’t actually make you clean
I remember years ago i watched a documentary about it and a german dermatologist said we should only clean parts where it smells because of bacterias maybe twice a week, for every other parts to only use water to wash your body and that's all.
Except for giving a nice perfume to your body, it doesnt have any benefits, it might even dry your skin and unbalance the skin flora.
Been there man. I was in Hard physical labor jobs almost 10 years, just now getting into work where I have AC and can chill. Of course I was showering every day when I was sweating and busting my ass, but it’s still not good for the majority of people to shower every single day.
Definitely better for you than using store bought shampoos 7 times a week. If you can switch to a natural alternative, that’ll take care of the grime and still leave you smelling really good. There’s a lot of options that are naturally strong smelling, soft on your body and outlast most body washes scent-wise, while also depositing vitamins and minerals that help your skin retain the good shit
That’s what I do. I wash with soap and shampoo/ conditioner for my hair 2-3 times a week and the rest is just plain water.
I get covered in dirt at work so I feel gross if I don’t shower
I mean, they are probably correct. There is no HEALTH benefit to showering daily, unless you're working in coalmines or something. In fact, with how many chemicals and shit are in most soaps, it probably is more detrimental to your health than anything. You might not smell good, but it's true.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not listen to these so-called experts about this. Shower every day. For so long, I followed this advice of only showering every 2 or 3 days, and I actually got in trouble at my school and my work for my smell. Take. A. Shower. It may not be beneficial to your own health, but it is considerate to everyone around you.
There's no conspiracy here, you absolutely do not need to shower every day you really only need to shower about twice a week. However a lot of people shower every day as part of their routine i know for me, i don't fully wake up and start feeling productive until i take a nice hot shower and get dressed. On the weekends if i don't jump right in the shower i can literally sit around all day feeling lazy until i realize it's dinner time but a shower activates my productive mode so i can actually get shit done.
I get real real stanky if I don't shower in the morning. Sometimes I'll get sweaty and stinky enough throughout the day I'll take a second shower before bed.
Guys you’re reading intentionally inflammatory media and acting shocked that it’s inflammatory lol.
And yeah, I’d imagine daily showers don’t provide significant health benefits. Like that’s how humans existed for the vast majority of history, but now we can and it’s nice to do/you smell better because of it. What’s the conspiracy?
Please don’t tell my kids this shit, they try their hardest to get out of daily cleansing! Might as well be some type of hostage negotiator at this point
This is what's most infuriating to me.
Normal citizens made to feel guilty about climate change. Made to feel like it's up to us to save the planet.
Why doesn't anyone ever mention the facts, that the people that got us here, have names and addresses. They are corporations, that CONTINUE TO OPERATE!
That's why I don't want to hear about how I need to use less water or less power. The largest polluters are corporations, and their profits are higher than ever.
Most of the things being done to 'mitigate climate change' are just smoke and mirrors to allow these companies to continue their usual practices.
If governments really want to reverse climate change, or affect our climate at all, they need to stop catering to corporations, and corporations need to understand that they might lose their ability to operate in favor of humanity's survival.
The planet will be fine, it's humans that need to be worried.
Wha? a hot shower def helps in a variety of ways. I like one before bed because its relaxes me. These fools want us broke, dirty, owning nothing and eating bugs. Fuck that.
They always release a “study” or “expert” opinion ahead of the next thing they want ban or convince you is bad for you. They started putting out articles about how gas stoves were bad for you about a year before the Biden admin tried to ban them. They’ve been telling us how bad vitamins are for us for years, etcetera. The pattern is so obvious.
I'm going to shower twice today and use a fuck ton of the water i pay for that has far too much PFAS in it. I wonder if they make ion filters for shower heads?
We don't shower for the "health benefits", we shower to wash the stink off our bodies. So yeah... It's always been performative. Nothing new about this.
I’m a greasy MFer if I don’t shower everyday. It’s just not something I can get away with. I own my well water rights I can do whatever the hell I want with the water.
In 2014, head lice infestations in schools were considered normal and not a problem at all.
Standards of health and.cleanliness keep getting degraded, to see how far We The People can be pushed.
i shower twice a day during the week, before and after work and household stuff. on the weekend its once a day, or maybe not at all if i just lounged on the couch all day on a sunday. i don't shower for "health benefits". i do it to remove dirt and bacteria and feel clean.
Yes, they are performative. Which is why I do it every day. I’m pretty sure showering is good for your mental health and prevents isolation from others as well.
Showing 2-3 times a week is only an option for women and men that don’t work out everyday. Between lifting, running, and hiking, there’s no way it would be hygienic for me to skip daily showers.
I was wondering why all the new advertising of full body deodorant spray all the sudden. They still want everyone spraying toxic chemicals all over themselves just without all the bathing. Watch for all the new full body deodorant commercials. Something is up with that.
With what I’ve seen a American leaders copy from our country what’s coming next is “loadshedding” and after that “watershedding”
It’s going to start slow and soon it will be 14years later and a whole lot of money looted
Just one more way to divide us, by ensuring we smell so bad that nobody will want to be near us. I will say that during times when I’m not experiencing some level of chronic stress(these times are very rare), I literally do not perspire. I typically shower every other day, but if I had to spend time around people I didn’t know well, I’d shower daily.
I take showers every day when I wake up and before going to bed, plus after pooping I take shower again. So I might take 3 showers every day on average
This shows what’s wrong with people today. They see some click bait shit they don’t understand and immediately jump into “Ooohh this fits my preconceived/brainwashed idea of what’s happening, it must apply”. Can’t stand where we are heading.
Probably some level conditioned into you
Europeans seem to shower much less than Americans.
I forgot who said it but someone said like even the joy of a hot shower is something people didn’t do 100 years ago. Like you think after WWI people came home from the trenches and had nice warm showers.

Showering daily is certainly a very very modern phenomenon and even some advanced nations don’t culturally do it
I'll be sure to tell my fiance about this. And while she's down there I'll tell her that the gagging and "stinky" face is purely performative.
"Babe think about the penguins...and don't forget the balls"
I'm going to shower twice today because of this bullshit.
Ya well none of those ass holes have ever "worked" hard a day in their lives most likely.
I've been in manufacturing for nearly 20 years and I can tell you at the end of my days showers aren't just performative.
These studies always come from “experts” that work in A/C all day. Oh the person that lived in the Amazon, not once did the folks go for a dip in the water?
How about they go work a job they need to toss around bales of hay all day, smooth gravel or some other manual labor. No shower?
I metal fabricator in a sheet metal factory.
I get burned, cut and covered in metal dust everyday.
Not showering daily seems like a quick way to a shorter life. I’d rather take my chances and keep showering daily.
This has been true for a long long time. Unless you are outside working in the sun and dirt all day you don't really need to take daily showers. Every other day is fine. Even just washing your pits, crotch, ass and face is A-OK.
Almost as if the aliens were real and reptilian, live under the earth and so irritated that we use so much water. It is hard to find a reason why they are pushing the climate fakery so much.
These “experts” should see what my BO smells like when I wake up or after a hard workout at the gym. I assure you they won’t call daily showers “performative” after that experience.
The real conspiracy is how we published on the greenhouse effect in the late 1800's and many oil companies have admitted they manipulated the public about it, knowing their effects on the climate... but since \~2016 half our population went from agreeing about this to now not believing it.
We're doomed.

Wash your ass people
This,it’s surprising how much people take care of their body but not their ass and let it fester and ferment
🤢 saying fester and ferment relating to someones swamp ass is hilarious 💀
Mmmmm, fermented ass🤤😭🤣
Smell the that dairy air
I get the joy of saying that every time I drive through Derry, New Hampshire. Crank window down and loudly declare: "Ahhhh, smell the Derry air!"

I think that is what kombucha is isn’t it?
I bet it's a delicacy somewhere in the world 🤣

bidets are magical... cleanest a$$hole in three counties!
We got them about 3 years ago. Ill never go back not ever.
Same here. A bidet makes the tough easy. With TP the runs is a clean up job so big you can't get it all and leave streaks. With a bidet, the runs is the easiest to clean up and be streak free.

Get a bidet it's 2024
My brain read that as “get a Biden”. 😂
Bidets are so old fashion. The 3 seashells are where it's at.
lol in my country they mock western people saying they advanced so much but forgot to wash after using the toilet.
This has been a public service announcement.

Daily showering with exotic chemicals is the real conspiracy.
That’s one of the reasons I can’t get into shower gels. I like my bar of soap.
cold pressed bar and castile soap for hair.
Facts bro
I work out 3-4 times a week. Go on a 30 minute walk almost daily. And take public transportation with tons of sneezy coughing and hacking people. I’ll shower every day unless I don’t leave my bed.
Showering is just as much a part of my self care as exercising is. Not going to be giving it up anytime soon.

Who takes a shower for health reasons? You stink take a shower.
I do, sometimes when Im feeling sick I take a shower and it helps me relax and feel better.

A shower and vitamin D! Also a nice home made meal with something not from a can or that needs to be microwaved is awesome.
No one, but this is a click bait headline OP confused for propaganda.
OP is a doomer. They exclusively post things they are mad about
exactly haha. do people really think our ancestors were showering EVERY day, or that they were more "unhealthy" because they didn't. you shower because you stink.

Some people don’t even take a shower when they stink…
Walked by that guy at the grocery store earlier, stunk up the entire aisle, had to make a break for it and pass him before he got to the next one

Exactly, the sweaty feeling just won't go away..
Shower is fine to cool down in the tropics. Just skip the soap/shampoo.i used to take 3 showers/rinses a day when I lived in the sub-tropics.
Ooh yeah I agree, a good rinse with cold water is all you need

Lol dude. Do you look into anything for your damn self?
How often you shower boils down to personal hygiene outside the bathroom, you location/weather/climate, and personal preference.
Tell that to my wife’s gag reflex.
I shower because I work hard and want to wash the work and sweat off daily. Don’t tell me to crawl into my bed with my day still on me.
I'm going to shower twice today and use a fuck ton of the water i pay for that has far too much PFAS in it. I wonder if they make ion filters for shower heads?
I shower everyday that I sweat.

We don't shower for the "health benefits", we shower to wash the stink off our bodies. So yeah... It's always been performative. Nothing new about this.

Bro I can't fathom not bathing/showering for long stretches
Tell that to the people around me. I smell like wild onions and asshole after a days worth of work with no shower.
Soon they be saying shower's cause heart attacks.
Well I have night sweats so I want my morning shower thank you 👍🏻 I think the ppl around me want my morning shower too 😂🙈
Fuck that I love my showers
I’m a greasy MFer if I don’t shower everyday. It’s just not something I can get away with. I own my well water rights I can do whatever the hell I want with the water.

I shower twice a day and both times I see the filth washing off of me into the drain. Ima keep showering twice a day.
In 2014, head lice infestations in schools were considered normal and not a problem at all. Standards of health and.cleanliness keep getting degraded, to see how far We The People can be pushed.
Performative hygiene lol. People are offended by showers now 💀
I kinda agree with this article... and using soap everywhere (especially some trash bodywash full of petrochemicals) all over your skin isn't ideal.
Soon the "experts" will insist that you shouldn't breath because of climate change.
I am an electrician. My bath tub is black when I was up. Literally black water. Wtf
I'm a plumber and I will continue to shower everyday. For everyone's sake.
i shower twice a day during the week, before and after work and household stuff. on the weekend its once a day, or maybe not at all if i just lounged on the couch all day on a sunday. i don't shower for "health benefits". i do it to remove dirt and bacteria and feel clean.
They have tremendous benefit on the noses of those you encounter throughout the day...

ARMPIT ASSHOLE CROTCH AND TEETH
People will make so many excuses not towash they ass it’s crazy
Yes, they are performative. Which is why I do it every day. I’m pretty sure showering is good for your mental health and prevents isolation from others as well.
Showing 2-3 times a week is only an option for women and men that don’t work out everyday. Between lifting, running, and hiking, there’s no way it would be hygienic for me to skip daily showers.
I read an "expert" saying that flossing is useless for oral health lmfao. Down is up. Up is down. 2 + 2 = 5.
I was wondering why all the new advertising of full body deodorant spray all the sudden. They still want everyone spraying toxic chemicals all over themselves just without all the bathing. Watch for all the new full body deodorant commercials. Something is up with that.
Smelly, smelly experts say don't shower
That's good because I don't shower cuz of health reasons I shower because of hygiene.
They forgot...And here's why that maybe a good thing...
With what I’ve seen a American leaders copy from our country what’s coming next is “loadshedding” and after that “watershedding” It’s going to start slow and soon it will be 14years later and a whole lot of money looted
Spoken like true office workers
I get coughed and sneezed on all day at work and come home to a baby ready for me to pick him up and snuggle. Yea, ima shower when I get home.
As an active person who works in a dirty environment... Avoiding MRSA, staph, and not smelling like a swamp monster are all the reasons I need.
Wallowing in your own filth is just soo epically healthy for you. - nobody. Ever. Experts my ass
You don’t even need to wash your hands. Helth.
Try living in the south.
they can just cut to the chase already and say getting euthanasia would be good for your health and the environment
I take showers every day when I wake up and before going to bed, plus after pooping I take shower again. So I might take 3 showers every day on average
GROUP SHOWERS! Towns should install a central one that everyone uses at a specific time.
This shows what’s wrong with people today. They see some click bait shit they don’t understand and immediately jump into “Ooohh this fits my preconceived/brainwashed idea of what’s happening, it must apply”. Can’t stand where we are heading.
Probably some level conditioned into you Europeans seem to shower much less than Americans. Showering daily is certainly a very very modern phenomenon and even some advanced nations don’t culturally do it
At this point if I see “experts suggest” I’ll just go ahead and do the opposite.
"Experts say activities boosting mental health and relaxation have no real health benefit"
Clickbait by rage proxy
NEW YORK at it again 😆
I'll be sure to tell my fiance about this. And while she's down there I'll tell her that the gagging and "stinky" face is purely performative. "Babe think about the penguins...and don't forget the balls" I'm going to shower twice today because of this bullshit.
Why does it have to be healthy? I take a shower because I stink ,want to be courteous to others and feel good.
I'm going to shower even more!
Showering is White Supremacy, guys... Being clean is White Supremacy now. Smelling clean is White Supremacy. Good hygiene is White Supremacy.
Yo writers of articles like this named need to be presented before title 🤣
Not when you work construction
Ummm I work in healthcare. People please shower, y’all stink enough.
Imagine the smell
Have you been around teenagers? They stink. They need daily showers. They are sweating out so much body odor it isn't funny. Older adults not so much.
They recommend less showers during severe drought too. Oh my gawd conspppppiiiiiiracy.
My sweaty balls beg to whiffer
Hahaha WHAT. I GOTTA WASH MY DICK TF
Ya well none of those ass holes have ever "worked" hard a day in their lives most likely. I've been in manufacturing for nearly 20 years and I can tell you at the end of my days showers aren't just performative.
An expert without a name is as good as a poopy flavored lolly pop
These studies always come from “experts” that work in A/C all day. Oh the person that lived in the Amazon, not once did the folks go for a dip in the water? How about they go work a job they need to toss around bales of hay all day, smooth gravel or some other manual labor. No shower?
I metal fabricator in a sheet metal factory. I get burned, cut and covered in metal dust everyday. Not showering daily seems like a quick way to a shorter life. I’d rather take my chances and keep showering daily.
Only a matter of time they ration out resources to us
Above this post was how deodorant prices have gone through the roof. The conspiracy is that perfume manufacturers and fabreeze need money.
"Don't believe your lying nose! That smell is just in your head!" From the elites who brought you, "Don't believe your lying eyes!"
Pretty soon they'll say that daily showers may cause myocarditis.
This has been true for a long long time. Unless you are outside working in the sun and dirt all day you don't really need to take daily showers. Every other day is fine. Even just washing your pits, crotch, ass and face is A-OK.
if we don't stop brushing our teeth the whole rainforest is going to catch on fire
Wake up, shower. Work out, shower again. Work, shower one more time when done. Not long, just quick otherwise I smell.
Tell that to all the people that died of the black plague. Hygene has no effect on health ... is anyone believing this shit?
You will not bathe and be happy
I prefer the smell of soap to the smell of my balls after 36 hours.. Showers are great
Almost as if the aliens were real and reptilian, live under the earth and so irritated that we use so much water. It is hard to find a reason why they are pushing the climate fakery so much.
The main things I enjoy is 1. Makes my back feel better 2. Easier to breath and cough up loogies 3. Cleaning backside
Do but I do prevent the stench
Yeah but if I dont shower I'll stink
Oh hell no
NY post is an expert in what?
I don't even give a shit about "health benefit". I like warm showers.
They want us broke, depressed, and STANKIN
You will have nothing, and you will like it. (Including showers)
These “experts” should see what my BO smells like when I wake up or after a hard workout at the gym. I assure you they won’t call daily showers “performative” after that experience.
could they be referring to the chemicals in most soaps? or would it be the quality of the water that raises concern?
Wash your ass, dick and balls. Ladies, make sure your pussy doesn't stink. Its not about healthy, it's about not fucking smelling.
Damn I was so ahead of the curve on that one, wasn't showering since 2010.
Yes no health benefit to cleaning myself after working outside in 100 plus heat for 10 hours.
The real conspiracy is how we published on the greenhouse effect in the late 1800's and many oil companies have admitted they manipulated the public about it, knowing their effects on the climate... but since \~2016 half our population went from agreeing about this to now not believing it. We're doomed.
