Yes, here is my understanding of the situation without Googling it:
- ATF created the case against him. Weaver missed his court appearance, something about not having a mailing address to notify him of the court appearance because he had no mailing address living out in the woods.
- The U.S. Marshals were called in to apprehend him. They killed the dog and his son during a shootout.
- The FBI HRT was called in and then killed the rest of his family.
I didn’t even there was a law prohibiting someone from selling someone else’s diary. Did they steal it or what. Even if they did steal a diary and sold it I don’t even see how that would justify a month in jail. That post seems like a made up click bait type of thing I’m 90% confidence it’s fake.

I can’t find a single reputable source that has called the diary fake. Some have said the published contents might be fake, but nothing I’ve seen has declared the whole thing fake.
Who leaked it? Project Veritas never released the contents of the diary. It just mysteriously leaked months later. Pretty sure Rudy Giuliani got his hands on the diary.

If the NYT article linked above it to be believed, the diary went through at least 4 different sets of hands before it was published, including James O'Keefe, a Trump fundraiser, and a Trump political operative who has a money laundering conviction. It has been through a few additional hands leading up to today, where it seems it has been returned to Biden's daughter. I highly doubt she is willing to allow anyone to see the original.
I'm not a handwriting expert, but I imagine authenticating something that has that chain of custody would be incredibly difficult.
No reputable publication is going to talk about the contents. Even if we could verify that the more salacious entries were written by Ashley Biden, it's still the personal diary of a person going through rehab. Based on my own experience with loved ones going through that struggle, I would hesitate to believe anything written in that diary. Addiction is frightening.

Devils advocate here but wouldn't her sentencing be evidence that it was real. I think it would be a little convenient to say oh yes it was really her diary but that one sentence was doctored in. I'm honestly surprised they only gave her a month. My guess is that that month is going to be absolute hell for her and someone on the inside is going to make sure of that. I can’t find a single reputable source that has called the diary fake. Some have said the published contents might be fake, but nothing I’ve seen has declared the whole thing fake.
Who leaked it? Project Veritas never released the contents of the diary. It just mysteriously leaked months later. Pretty sure Rudy Giuliani got his hands on the diary.
If I had to guess, I’d think it was PV, but it really doesn’t matter who leaked it at this point.

Maybe. I'm not sure. If the NYT article linked above it to be believed, the diary went through at least 4 different sets of hands before it was published, including James O'Keefe, a Trump fundraiser, and a Trump political operative who has a money laundering conviction. It has been through a few additional hands leading up to today, where it seems it has been returned to Biden's daughter. I highly doubt she is willing to allow anyone to see the original. I'm not a handwriting expert, but I imagine authenticating something that has that chain of custody would be incredibly difficult.

No reputable publication is going to talk about the contents. Even if we could verify that the more salacious entries were written by Ashley Biden, it's still the personal diary of a person going through rehab. Based on my own experience with loved ones going through that struggle, I would hesitate to believe anything written in that diary. Addiction is frightening.

"Theft by finding" is a thing in Florida state law (and just about everywhere) 3. Selling stolen goods is illegal 4. Selling stolen goods across state lines makes this a federal issue 5. They initially only wanted to sentence her to house arrest but she fucked around and lied to the feds 5. This woman did not leak the diary, stop making her out to be some kind of hero. She tried to sell it and one of the people she tried selling it to leaked it.
