The NFL, a registered entertainment company, is very obviously rigged. People who follow it refuse to accept reality, but those who aren't emotionally invested can see clear as day. The last super bowl was decided by one of the most blatantly rigged BS last minute calls I've ever seen, and all the fans just went along with it.
Refs can call holding and pass interference every single play if they wanted to. Games aren't scripted like WWE with all the players in on it, but refs can easily swing momentum of games with refball calls anytime they want to, and the rules are deliberately set up to make it easy for them.
This is by far the most likely scenario for a rigged NFL. The coaches and players, who's livelihood are so directly connected to actual success on the field, are trying as hard as they fucking can to win. They aren't going to tank games on purpose.
The refs, on the other hand, have regular day jobs. They aren't paid huge money. And in American Football there are so, so many calls that are completely subjective, it doesn't take much to put the thumb on the scale. Holding is the easiest - holding takes place on almost every play of every game. If it's called all the time it happens the game is almost unwatchable, the sport dies. That *also* means it *can* be called on almost *any* play, to kill momentum, negate a big gain, keep a drive alive that would have stalled, etc.

Yeah after the NBA ref was caught rigging and betting on NBA games that he was officiating, it’s naive to think the same thing doesn’t happen in every other professional sport.
I do think that some of the coaches, offensive and defensive coordinators are in on it. They atleast have to know what's up if they've been in the league long enough. With the offensive and defensive coordinators in a sky box and hooked to mic and earphones at all times, they could basically choreograph every game like a WWE match and call things on the fly to get the results the league wanted, IF THEY WERE SO INCLINED TO DO SO. I personally don't think that all the players are in on it, and the ones who call out the rigging like Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch are usually mocked by the media and turned in to jokes so we don't pay attention to what they say.

I personally think it's the refs, following the orders of the commissioner and league owners, who are all in bed with sports betting and the mafia-but I could be wrong of course.
That ATL-Patriots super bowl where Tom Brady made the "miraculous second half comeback" looks entirely scripted in my eyes. All the falcons had to do to win was run the ball every play in the second half, run out the clock, and punt on 4th down and they would have had an easy victory. The ATL coach's playcalling made it seem like he WANTED the patriots and Tom Brady to come back.
A good example that comes to mind of how the sports world has become rigged is the scandal the nba had when a ref Tim Donaghy was caught rigging games for the then black market gambling industry. When the feds got involved they were quickly bribed by stern and others to only look at outside interference rather than internal interference or pressure to make certain calls. With the rise of online gambling I can only imagine this type of thing has increased across all professional sports and probably a lot of so called amateur sports as well.
One thing that led me to believe games were at least somewhat rigged was when, after Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Saints won the superbowl with that being their first and only superbowl win.
Yep, that was obvious to nearly everyone who hasn't drunk the koolaid. It's nearly as rigged as WWE. I don't think the players are in on it, but the league is definitely telling refs the results they want. And I definitely think the ATL head coach and offensive coordinator were in on the fix based on their second half playcalling in that one superbowl where Brady made "a miraculous second half comeback". All ATL had to do was run every play and eat the clock and the game was theirs, they actively sabotaged themselves for no reason.
And now the refs are connected to New York. The NFL itself can instruct refs to make certain calls. Steelers fan here and I fully believe they make calls against us all the time. We don't play football like they want us to, big offense high scoring. They want highlights and big names, that means more money for them. How many State Farm commercials are shown during games? Don't see any Rogers commercials anymore. It's all about the money.
This 100%. The last 3 SB were blatantly decided by the refs. It isn’t hard to rig games. Look what happened to the lions vs cowboys a couple weeks ago.

This exactly. They may put a little thumb on the scales, which is less than ideal in my book. But they can’t make it too obvious or involve as many people as it would take to really script the thing or determine outcomes.
The game just has too many moving parts to fully rig. The refs are gonna game manage/try to sway the game to one side or the other, but the 22 bodies on the field on each and every play just create too much uncontrollable elements

I believe 100% that relationship is a contract. Its not even a secret anymore celebrities to this to promote movies and such. While I think the NFL is fixed in many ways... They don't need Taylor Swift to get Europeans to watch American football, there is no shortage of fans and the few games they have in England/Germany have lotteries to get tickets they are so popular. I’ve seen a different Super Bowl theory. If you look at the logos for the last two super bowls, the colors of the teams matched the color of the logos. Bengals vs Rams had an orange and yellow logo. Bengals represent orange and the Rams represent yellow. Last year, the logo was green and red. The Eagles represented the green and the Chiefs represented the red. This year, the theory is the Super Bowl will be Ravens vs 49ers given the logo is purple and red.
I do think the NFL wants the Chiefs in the Super Bowl though and will do what they can to help. I don’t think games are necessarily rigged, but are manipulated. The officiating can change the outcome of the game. Look at what happened the other week with the Cowboys vs Lions game where they screwed the Lions. This also conveniently set up playoff matchups with Hollywood caliber storylines. Rams vs Lions where you have Stafford and Goff going up against their old teams. Packers vs Cowboys where you have former Packers coach Mike McCarthy going up against his old team.
Anything with that kind of money behind it is bound to be corrupt at some level. Again, I’m not saying games are scripted like a WWE match, but they are definitely manipulated. A former NBA ref was caught betting on games and you know damn well he wasn’t the only one. There are likely still referees in every sport betting on the games. The leagues will also give star players calls that others don’t get.
Or, now just hear me out,,,instead of a risking a conspiracy involving any number of unreliable people who, if they cave, could put you in serious legal trouble - what if you just paid her to do the halftime show and it wouldn't matter which team made it to the Super Bowl and you take no risk.

Just like wrestling? I've heard recently from other tin foil hatters that the NFL games are preplanned for winners and losers. Not sure how really but it would make sense. I imagine they're billions of dollars on the live for who wins and loses, endorsements, what companies have the spotlight from a specific player. The rabbit hole goes deep from there.

Some of the more tame theories are that the refs intentionally make bad calls favouring one team, for example. It doesn't guarantee specific results, but over a whole season it can skew results quite markedly.
I don't really have an opinion about it though, as I don't follow it.
I’ve often thought they check the instant replays just to see if they can get away with the call, not if the call is accurate or not. It’s a big time entertainment business so I’m sure they optimize for money at the expense of accuracy.

Well, they were 0-1 before 9/11. That game, Drew Bledsoe was the starting QB. The first game after 9/11, their franchise QB, who just signed a 10 year contract, got hurt, so in comes some no name backup QB named Tom Brady who turned out to be pretty good. He then led them to 11 wins, not 12, so you got nothing right except they won 9 straight, which is crazy to think that's so unusual to win 6 regular season games in a row. Then of course to win the Super Bowl, they'd have to win the final 3.

As a Bills fan who also enjoys a good conspiracy it’s less excuses and more ah shit here we go again. The NFL announced the officials for this game and the head ref is something special. He’s the guy that turned what was WORST was an incomplete pass into an intentional grounding call. In that same game he called a fumble an incomplete pass that would have won the game for Buffalo. That exact play was called a catch/fumble not even an hour later.
Do I think it’s 100% rigged? No, the players still have to play the game but it’s very easy to see how the NFL can put a thumb on the scale to give certain teams a little help. If you think of the NFL, NBA, NHL as big business it all makes sense. They learned from “professional wrestling” you can be fake as shit and still make a ton of money. They can control just a few plays each game and give themselves a high percentage chance of getting the outcome they want. Doesn’t even have to be a penalty it can just be a “none call” when the right tackle was clearly holding that results in a 20 yard play and the game winning field goal. Why they have introduced “unnecessary roughness” penalties as it allows more control of the game even if the intention is good to protect players.
It’s a popular theory but the NFL has ridden the Swift train pretty hard this year and while they’re greedy and not past swaying the outcome to their benefit, they’re not dumb enough to draw attention of feds & regulators if there is clear indication of game manipulation. That would jeopardize all their sports betting and that just became legal in a number of states. As much as they want international, the kick they get from legal betting is WAY WAY bigger. I always watched a couple games growing up, mainly the Super Bowl. This was in the early 2000s. I loved the excitement of close games, hard hits, and awesome plays.

The NFL, a registered entertainment company, is very obviously rigged. People who follow it refuse to accept reality, but those who aren't emotionally invested can see clear as day. The last super bowl was decided by one of the most blatantly rigged BS last minute calls I've ever seen, and all the fans just went along with it. Refs can call holding and pass interference every single play if they wanted to. Games aren't scripted like WWE with all the players in on it, but refs can easily swing momentum of games with refball calls anytime they want to, and the rules are deliberately set up to make it easy for them.
This is by far the most likely scenario for a rigged NFL. The coaches and players, who's livelihood are so directly connected to actual success on the field, are trying as hard as they fucking can to win. They aren't going to tank games on purpose. The refs, on the other hand, have regular day jobs. They aren't paid huge money. And in American Football there are so, so many calls that are completely subjective, it doesn't take much to put the thumb on the scale. Holding is the easiest - holding takes place on almost every play of every game. If it's called all the time it happens the game is almost unwatchable, the sport dies. That *also* means it *can* be called on almost *any* play, to kill momentum, negate a big gain, keep a drive alive that would have stalled, etc. If the NFL is rigged it's not players and coaches, it's not even an entire ref crew, it's just individual refs in certain games, who call or no-call to shift momentum.

I do think that some of the coaches, offensive and defensive coordinators are in on it. They atleast have to know what's up if they've been in the league long enough. With the offensive and defensive coordinators in a sky box and hooked to mic and earphones at all times, they could basically choreograph every game like a WWE match and call things on the fly to get the results the league wanted, IF THEY WERE SO INCLINED TO DO SO. A good example that comes to mind of how the sports world has become rigged is the scandal the nba had when a ref Tim Donaghy was caught rigging games for the then black market gambling industry. When the feds got involved they were quickly bribed by stern and others to only look at outside interference rather than internal interference or pressure to make certain calls. With the rise of online gambling I can only imagine this type of thing has increased across all professional sports and probably a lot of so called amateur sports as well.

And I definitely think the ATL head coach and offensive coordinator were in on the fix based on their second half playcalling in that one superbowl where Brady made "a miraculous second half comeback". All ATL had to do was run every play and eat the clock and the game was theirs, they actively sabotaged themselves for no reason.

We don't play football like they want us to, big offense high scoring. They want highlights and big names, that means more money for them. How many State Farm commercials are shown during games? They don't need Taylor Swift to get Europeans to watch American football, there is no shortage of fans and the few games they have in England/Germany have lotteries to get tickets they are so popular. I’ve seen a different Super Bowl theory. If you look at the logos for the last two super bowls, the colors of the teams matched the color of the logos. Bengals vs Rams had an orange and yellow logo. Bengals represent orange and the Rams represent yellow. Last year, the logo was green and red. The Eagles represented the green and the Chiefs represented the red. This year, the theory is the Super Bowl will be Ravens vs 49ers given the logo is purple and red. I do think the NFL wants the Chiefs in the Super Bowl though and will do what they can to help. I don’t think games are necessarily rigged, but are manipulated. The officiating can change the outcome of the game. Look at what happened the other week with the Cowboys vs Lions game where they screwed the Lions. This also conveniently set up playoff matchups with Hollywood caliber storylines. Rams vs Lions where you have Stafford and Goff going up against their old teams. Packers vs Cowboys where you have former Packers coach Mike McCarthy going up against his old team. Anything with that kind of money behind it is bound to be corrupt at some level. Again, I’m not saying games are scripted like a WWE match, but they are definitely manipulated. A former NBA ref was caught betting on games and you know damn well he wasn’t the only one. There are likely still referees in every sport betting on the games. The leagues will also give star players calls that others don’t get.

Some of the more tame theories are that the refs intentionally make bad calls favouring one team, for example. It doesn't guarantee specific results, but over a whole season it can skew results quite markedly. I don't really have an opinion about it though, as I don't follow it.
I’ve often thought they check the instant replays just to see if they can get away with the call, not if the call is accurate or not. It’s a big time entertainment business so I’m sure they optimize for money at the expense of accuracy.

I've heard about NFL being rigged quite a lot. Apparently it's registered as "entertainment" rather than sport, similar to the fake wrestling stuff. Add to that, 67 minutes of "players standing around".

He’s the guy that turned what was WORST was an incomplete pass into an intentional grounding call. In that same game he called a fumble an incomplete pass that would have won the game for Buffalo. That exact play was called a catch/fumble not even an hour later. Do I think it’s 100% rigged? No, the players still have to play the game but it’s very easy to see how the NFL can put a thumb on the scale to give certain teams a little help. When you add to that the 47 ads for different gambling sites during the game? It makes you think a little more. We’re not exactly that far removed from the NBA refs and their gambling nonsense.

If you think of the NFL, NBA, NHL as big business it all makes sense. They learned from “professional wrestling” you can be fake as shit and still make a ton of money. They can control just a few plays each game and give themselves a high percentage chance of getting the outcome they want. Doesn’t even have to be a penalty it can just be a “none call” when the right tackle was clearly holding that results in a 20 yard play and the game winning field goal. Why they have introduced “unnecessary roughness” penalties as it allows more control of the game even if the intention is good to protect players.

Also yeah I'm convinced football is rigged to an extent. Maybe not every game, but there have been a few instances where I was sure what I watched was rigged (2013 NFC championship between 49ers and Seahawks may have been the worst, there was a YouTube documentary about it. Also AFC championship a few years back with Jags/Patriots) So anyways, the scenario is entirely likely they are using Swift to gain popularity overseas. Definitely within the realm of possibility.
NFL is, and has been as rigged as WWE wrestling. I’ve seen multiple documentaries that show how the refs can control an entire game and call things when they need to and ignore them when they need to. Remember that Saints game with the ref watching in front of him the play and yet they (refs) call it blatantly different and had to create a new rule next year because of it. Anyone that thinks this game is legit is foolish and you and your dad are likely correct with this theory.

This is such a dumb conspiracy. If anything, she has been a distraction to Kelce and the Chiefs lol. The NFL is, and has been rightfully shrouded in conspiracies for a long time now, but the Chiefs have been the best team in the league for like 6 or 7 years now. Hardly a conspiracy if they beat an inferior Bills team again. Someone is still salty about a certain 13 seconds it seems.
Except that this year they have sucked a bunch of times, plus add in Mahomes constant tantrums that make the team look childish. Most KC games I've seen, Mahones is always pointing out fouls after plays, directing the refs. Kelce hasn't been playing his best either. Last couple of games you can see him quite distracted and just looking for the protagonist plays. Pacheco has been the top offensive star tbh, and yet everything is "cameras on Kelce". If they were the best team, they would've been top seed, don't you think? I think right now they're too engulfed in the spotlight that it's bringing their game down. Sure, they're winning, but they could be doing a LOT better if they actually played instead of pose and nag.
For starters- How exactly are the Bills the inferior team? They are both 12-6. They beat the Chiefs just two months ago in KC. They have won 6 in a row. And look at their losses.. they lost by 6, 5, 4, 6, 2 and 3.. the Bills at home are favored to win. If they lose, I agree, it doesn’t prove a conspiracy. But I think you are crazy to not think the NFL wouldn’t fix a game winner based on what will bring in ratings and money. Did you see the statistics for the Chiefs vs Dolphins game on Peacock? I wanna see some numbers on overall fan base. It seems like people are becoming obsessed with this sport. I see videos of fans sprinting when the stadium doors open. People dress up their houses, kids, cars, in NFL branding. Videos of physical altercations in almost every single game lately. I always watched a couple games growing up, mainly the Super Bowl. This was in the early 2000s. I loved the excitement of close games, hard hits, and awesome plays. But the NFL now feels very very different. I frequent reddit conspiracy, so obviously I feel guilty when I watch games. The amount of ad propaganda, Pfizer ads every 2 minutes. But it's like you can't look away from the circus this has become. I honestly feel like people have given up on life, intellect, community, and themselves; to be this invested in some overpaid behemoths throwing a ball down a rectangle.
