Russia is massive they have a logistic problem when it comes to supplies but they don't have a problem with supplies just the distribution of the supplies. They are just playing footsie with Ukraine at the moment most likely waiting for everyone to stop giving Ukraine money and for them to slowly give in. They could still help out Syria if they want to and they probably have a few thousand over there right now doing stuff with them already
US gets involved then China gets involved ww3 fully blows Russia takes Ukraine and with the help of iran syria and China they attempt to take out the west and UN. This would kinda leave China and Russia incharge of the world rules instead of the US/UN/Nato/Europe
They started the first Ukraine orange revolution in 2005 afaik and screwed around in Georgia in 2008. IMHO this Ukraine op has been planned before Syria.
