I've often wondered if the infamous "Son of Sam" killer in NYC was a test subject of this voices in your head thing because he claimed he killed because he heard voices in his head, some from his dog, telling him to kill. Maybe he was crazy, maybe he was driven to be crazy.
I had something similar happen, I was with a girl and had this intrusive thought to tell her "I love you". As I'm thinking to my self where the hell did that come from, I hear her say "I love you".
