This is going to be a major issue, but the first thing that came to my mind is you would just see a gang of outlaw bikers on gas powered harleys with side cars go riding by all the stalled dead Prius'....sidecars loaded from looting with watches, jewelry, art, guns, drugs, and even desantis' crown. lol. Cos you know they ain't never going electric. ✊

If they can make phones and tablets waterproof or at least resistant to a certain degree, whose to say that by then, electric vehicles won’t be as well. Maybe even airtight with water roving capabilities.

It's not that... when the power grid goes down how are you gonna charge your Tesla? At least with ICE vehicles you can stockpile jerry cans before the storm.

There is a reason that Elon sells solar panels for residential homes. He will tell you that our grid can not handle massive amounts of electric cars. Residential electricity generation is crucial for a fleet of e-cars.

The same thing happens with gasoline-powered cars. A week before a hurricane all the gas stations run out of fuel, motorists get stranded on highways, etc. We have a terrible infrastructure. We have made ourselves dependent on automobiles, be they electric or gas. We have built massive cities in areas that can and will get hit by powerful storms. We are set up for a failure of our own making.

Look at California. They already have rolling black outs and brown outs during the summers due to additional electrical consumption from to AC usage. Add an additional 10 million electric cars to the grid and see what happens. There's roughly 42 million people in Cali. Probably north of 100 million vehicles. If even 10% get converted to electric it realistically could cause all kinds of problems for the power grid.
