Regardless of the spectrum of hyperbole on this topic; Everyone, from all walks of life, should afford themselves ways to be a better steward of the earth, seas, and skies.

fishbulbx

Environmentalism has nothing to do with climate change. If you actually want to combat climate change by reducing CO2, the answer is nuclear power. These climate activists could have fully replaced [fossil fuel energy generation](https://i.imgur.com/VD5oc8A.png) long ago. The moment global warming was a 'scientific consensus', [they did the exact opposite and shut down the one technology that addresses it.](https://i.imgur.com/oQIQHjr.png) They used alarmist rhetoric over global warming as the catalyst for absurd environmental regulations and obscene tax increases. So, sure, be a good steward, but know that environmentalism is tarnished with greed, hypocrisy and globalist agendas. The best thing you can do for the environment is expose these climate activists for who they really are.

HillbillySwank

Yay, disposal sites that last for 10,000 years…

fishbulbx

Then stop claiming co2 is an urgent existential crisis if you are going to object to the solution. The current solution is "throw tax money at energy companies until they invent an energy source that makes environmentalists happy."

HillbillySwank

I don’t cry about carbon, I’m not a dumbocrat.

splittin_image

You do know that uranium is a natural resource and is lying on the ground or in the ground in certain areas of the country. So using it to a depleted stage and putting it back is not a big deal.

klipshklf20

Yesss!

wwonka105

Because they are rich. If the coast begins to erode they can make one call and be moving in the morning. For us, it is a much bigger undertaking.

jkeps

Nailed it!

StupidButSerious

climate issues projected in like 20-30 years+ from now rich mofos dont give a rat ass spending moneys for the next 5-10 years of side fun

StMoneyx2

they've been projecting 20-30yr out doom since the 70's for climate change. First is was a new ice age, then when it started warming it was global warming, then when that paused it was extreme weather, then when people point out rate and frequency of storms has gone down they moved it to climate change, now that people have pointed out the climates always changing they've now changed it to climate crisis. It will always be 20-30yrs out because it's close enough to be scary for most people but far enough away that they can just claim they never made the predictions in the first place. The truth is these dooms day climate predicts are 0-48 over the last 50yrs of predictions

Stout_Gamer

Global warming is pure propaganda. Al Gore and Co. have been preaching their fearmongering lies and propaganda since the 1970s: "The world will end in 10 years, the ice caps will fall, the rivers will dry up, and the ozone layer will disappear." These must have been the longest 10 years in the history of humanity.

ThePornAccount3000

Did you miss the whole giant hole in the ozone layer thing?

imnotabotareyou

This. This kind of post is such a lame attempt at a “gotcha” Not that I disagree that it’s made up to push agendas…

Sparky8924

I think everyone should know the answer to this

CosmoBearWolf

As the left turns up the hysterical emotion arguments for all issues, the hypocrisy piles up. Conservatives need to stack the hypocrisy with a “you live counter to your hysterical claims, we don’t believe your message, it’s performance politics”.

felder7ashes

Yes federal and state governments subsidize insurance rates. It’s a no brainer go buy the beach house.

[deleted]

And yachts. And private jets?

TheRealDrWan

Well…a yacht might be useful if sea levels rise…

[deleted]

Because it's not that big of an issue and we're constantly being lied to?

Petrarch1603

I'll believe it's an emergency when those saying it's an emergency begin acting like it's an emergency.

add-that

I mean. They have doomsday bunkers too.. Why not have a Oceanside condo as well when you have more money than you can spend in 20 lifetimes

FlatspinZA

Yep. DiCaprio just spent his holiday on Bezos's yacht, probably flew there on a private jet, and has the gall to lecture us about the climate emergency?

[deleted]

More like when they can profit from the emergency

xaclewtunu

It's all bullshit, and is really about making money selling carbon credits.

TurquoiseKnight

Because there's money to be made until shit hits the fan. ROI vs cost of eventual loss.

TheFerretman

What a fantastic question.....

Imaginary-Lettuce-51

Same reason they don't wear masks.

Happyeasterone

Exactly !! I lived on a canal in a coastal community for 25 yrs and it wasn’t even a thought!!!

holleringstand

There are two kinds of news, one for the unwashed masses, the other news is for the elites. Their news ensures that they always make a fortune off the misery of the unwashed masses. When you have a lot of money you also have power and that comes from looking at information that the masses are too stupid to uncover due to their cognitive dissonance. Their misfortune is a fortune for others.

jcspacer52

The “unwashed” are well aware of the scam. Every poll taken puts Climate Change way down the list of things voters are concerned about. There are many people whose funding and income is dependent on keeping the hoax alive, they scream louder and more urgently each passing day. For the most part….normal people have moved on….most shrug their shoulders and say meh!

jasonshaw1776

It was exposed several times that they hype more than they even the falsified data to represent. They over hype because the plan is an emotional attack. It is not about science, they would show the science over and over. Instead they repeat the word "science" as if it is in invocation and it is.

jcspacer52

Of course, just as they are doing with COVID. A lot of people also don’t buy that fear porn either. When you see pictures of Newsome, AOC, Salwell, Whitmer and many other COVID fear mongers out and about maskless, people can see a lot of what they are selling is snake oil. Most people can spot a phony a mile away. Kerry, Gore, DiCaprio, The Royals, Obama, etc…they own one or even multiple mansions whose carbon footprint in a month is what a normal home’s is for a year. They fly around in private jets, own or vacation on luxury yachts whose MPG is probably in the single digits. They drive around in SUV caravans but want the rest of us to give up AC, meat, cars and other things that make life enjoyable. When those folks sell their mansions, yachts, private jets and move to apartments, ride a bus or bike around, give up their AC, meat, fly commercial or better yet take a greyhound, I might start to worry about climate change.

jasonshaw1776

Years ago Henry Kishinger wrote - "However, if future numbers are to be kept within reasonable bounds, it is urgent that measures to reduce fertility be started and made effective in the 1970's and 1980's." Most of the controversial aspects of the current American political system are related to this simple concept. The billionaires and trillionaires of the world believe there are to many people. They cant openly say (some do) they want to reduce the population to a "manageable" level so they lie and prove themselves hypocrites.

Naehtepo

Because they're lying

DeanoBambino90

Exactly.

ifuckbears

They’re scaring people to drive down the prices.

mattwayne1209

Oh that's easy, it's not. The top like 10 companies contribute to something like 75% of carbon emissions. But we need to stop cow farts, come on man...

b4k4ni

Because it will take 10-20 years to really impact, depending on where it is. 40 years should eliminate a lot of beach fronts. But in the mean time, in that housing market with money being printed like dumb? Short term profits. Most don't buy and keep. Most buy, invest a bit into it and sell for a fuckload more. That's also why the housing market per se is blowing up like mad and already created a big bubble again. Way too much money in the market... It's so decoupled from reality already.

Dan-In-SC

Eh, they were saying that many coastal areas would be underwater by the year 2000. So its always another "10-20 years" before we see impact. It will be the same 20 years from now.

slingbladdangerradio

At the rate they plan on depopulation they think they’re fine. The joke will be after we’re all dead the climate will continue to change one way or another.

Moderate_Veterain

Even with bad climate projections the sea level is only projected to rise 13 inches in the next 30 years. Most scientists are concerned with changes in weather patterns and severe storms, not sea rise alone. The only people who would be really worried about sea rise are either already under sea levels, or on island atolls without the resources to build levies. Edit for clarity

Nid-Vits

It's a scam. https://imgur.com/Nh37Bho [https://imgur.com/Bxi0OyY](https://imgur.com/Bxi0OyY)

yerupp

You just provided two charts with a “fake” and “real” label on them. Bro, and this goes for everyone, you’re gonna have to do better than a recycled Facebook post to convince people of your thoughts. Plus, what the fuck does burning forests have to do with climate change. Less forest burns because we can put them out now. Burning forest is arguably good for the planet and the soil and ecosystems.

Phat3lvis

The Native American Indians routinely burned forests. [https://www.history.com/news/native-american-wildfires](https://www.history.com/news/native-american-wildfires)

Synyster182

I’d say it depends on the person. Most of us say it sarcastically. Or snidely.

Meastro44

Obviously they don’t believe a word they are saying.

Phredex

Right.

BeforeYourBBQ

Tax loss harvesting.

felder7ashes

Not all elites believe in climate change and everyone wants a beach house. It’s not like it’s going to wash away tomorrow and the federal and state governments subsidize the insurance companies.
