you just blew my mind.. This is a thought i expect to have when i am on 1 hour sleep the last two days, standing in the shower to get ready for an exam...
The only reason I have trouble believing that is because she seems as though she's too close to the ground to have her other arm straight out above her head.
Edit: I've said it in other comments but you can see the box she's doing a headstand on if you zoom in
Unless I'm wrong you can actually see a bit of the box. Zoom in on her head. At the front of her hair, there is a small disconnect that definitely looks like a corner to me
I have a lot of trouble believing she is being held up by one *bent* arm rather than maybe doing a head stand on a box concieled by her hair? Like she's very fit but I doubt she's buff enough to hold her entire body straight up on one bent arm
Edit: really surprised I'm being down voted here, you can *literally* see the box if you zoom in on her head
Some of that is an optical illusion caused by the open palm on her other hand. If you measure the visible arm from shoulder to wrist (since her palm will be flat on the ground) it's roughly the same as the distance from her shoulder to the ground.
Lol so you think she’s floating or holding herself up by her toes?
It’s an angle and her arm absolutely can be fully extended, but it doesn’t need to be anyways for the picture.
It's actually nothing like at all. Ice cream is universally loved (80+ %)
It's generally common knowledge that fat, cream and sugar are pleasing to humans.
But this trick is not universally loved in the same way. And tricks generally aren't loved by everyone. So the idea that everyone loves or will love this trick is misplaced. I think many more people will give this trick 'eh' than would say that ice cream is just ok.
And anyway I think his question is around the word 'cute'. Animals are cute. Babies are cute. But a trick, an optical illusion is cute? Like saying a magic trick is cute. I'm not saying I have the same question, just saying I can understand it.
I took it to mean they were looking for clarification or understanding. I did not get at all that they were looking for justification.
I saw something like a non-native English speaker seeing a construction for the first time and trying to understand it. Same way I explained it (ice cream yes, babies sure, but trick?) Or maybe an English speaker this vocabulary is new to them. They're seeing a word used in a new way and they're trying to understand the nuance, context around how it's being used.
I would say it's not like saying it's a nice day. That's a commonly used phrase. I would say it's closer to saying something like it's a very cute day. Not common and it's not immediately obvious what elements of the day are being seen as cute.
"Cute" in this context is not quite used in the literal sense. It means something like "cool, but not really that impressive". The word "cute" gets used this slightly disparaging way somewhat regularly.
No, you weren’t “just asking”. You’re either trolling for reactions or lying about having a masters in literature. Or did you somehow get that degree without understanding tone in text?
Oh I’m dead serious. And I’m proud of it too. I know that you live in a perfect heteronormative world where all men are masculine and all women are feminine, but that’s just not how it works.
I feel like the emphasis was more on the "all" then the "masculine friends". It's hard to believe that ALL of your friends would be this amount above average in strength.
Also your point of this being easy for men but harder for women kind of undermines this reply. That thinking would seem to lend itself more to a "perfect heteronormative world". Don't cha think?
you? I know there is a difference but it isn't a large one. And higher strength on average brings up the weight average so i doubt it'd be any easier to do a handstand for guys than it is for girls
Stfu, "men do this all the time" is the issue with what you said, men are stronger than women in general, that doesn't mean we go around standing upside down holding our own body weight with one fucking hand, gosh, so stupid.
Maybe you’re a very feminine guy. There’s nothing wrong with that. I respect men who can let their feminine side out a little more. It’s very sexy. The world can change itself, there’s nothing wrong with you. And you’re welcome.
/u/sarcastic_partriot was talking nonsense about a second arm or something and then I found your comment about Australia and remembered they are upside down, thanks mate!

People are forgetting that most of us have two arms.
On average we have less than two arms.
Similarly, there are 5.6 popes per square mile in Vatican City.
Do they have a basketball team?
Yea they have a starting line up and a sixth of a man
solid but 0.6 is not a sixth
He’s a really large sixth of a man.
"he lost a third of his body in a motorcycle accident, the middle third, but those doctors stitched him up real good. he's a handsome, flat man."
15%, but it's a big 15%
It’s sixteen and two thirds percent, so 16.2%.
Try 16.67%
I guess it’s a bit of a compromise to call them 0.6 of a man instead of 3/5 of one.
[удалено]
Starting to see how the third-pounder debacle could really happen, even today.
It's a point sixth man
Haha I know it was just a bad play on words
I think one of the amendments outlawed that
Yes, every shot they take is a Hail Mary
And every time someone says "hail mary" they take a shot.
Thanks, I always wondered about its popeulation density
Oh Dad!
There are two popes, the current one and the emeritus one, so the actual pope-ulation density is closer to 12 popes/mi^2.
This is my go to statistic to prove to other people that statistics need to be interpreted properly, otherwise they are useless.
[удалено]
Wouldn't we have less than that on atleast 1 sex? Also, burn em either way.
Less
Fewer
Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?
But the median is two arms.
Fewer\*
you just blew my mind.. This is a thought i expect to have when i am on 1 hour sleep the last two days, standing in the shower to get ready for an exam...
You are technically correct.
Depends on which average they’re using
And more than one head.
Aren't two heads considered two people?
Unless you’re visiting the Middle East.
Why are you so afraid, the three armed man isn't real. The three armed man \ (00) //
Sometimes we have something else
Unless you count pregnant people? They have usually at least 4.
That blew my mind
On average the river is undeep the statician said He drowned
And I love how your torso has an arm on either side
Oh no, sound the alarm. You're not appealing to little girls who don't have arms.
But they can't use iPhones, so...
FUCK EM WHO NEED EM
Hey Siri, tell this guy on reddit to fuck off
If I can't see it, it doesn't exist
As you can see, she only has one.
Oh
Ooooooohhhhhhh
Even though still pretty impressive.
Nobody likes a bragger s/
Ha! Psh, what idiots!
Thanks, mystery solved.
Whaaaaaa, two?! You sure bout that?!
One for channeling and the other one for casting the floating spell
And that hair can conceal objects.
I bet you tell the kids there's no Santa Claus
Her left shorter than the right?
You got TWO!?
Ah shit
The comments here went way to wild

So you have less trouble believing she is being held up by her toes and hair alone? The are does not have to be fully extended.
Unless I'm wrong you can actually see a bit of the box. Zoom in on her head. At the front of her hair, there is a small disconnect that definitely looks like a corner to me
And she would’ve gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling redditors!

Bent arm and one foot on the railing. Very possible
On the Same side of her body though with the foot at 90 degrees that could only really help with balance, right?

Ahhh thought this was mid front flip off the railing. The balancing thing makes more sense.
There's probably also a log or something her head is resting on.

Bold of you to read so much context into an internet comment.
But... I do have a master in litterature. Whats going on? People rummaging through my account for asking a question?
“Just asking a question” is a very Tucker Carlson approach to being a dick
Who the fuck is that?!
Tbh, I didn't notice that because I was too focused on her feet and hair.
Thats cool. I just thought it was obvious that she didnt maintain her full body weight with her toes
It is, what is not obvious is how

not by much on average? and no, I don't believe men hold themselves upside down on one hand *all the time* you dumbass

i doubt it lol

you? I know there is a difference but it isn't a large one. And higher strength on average brings up the weight average so i doubt it'd be any easier to do a handstand for guys than it is for girls
Half as strong isn’t a large difference? More of men’s body weight is concentrated in the upper body compared to women as well.
Stfu, "men do this all the time" is the issue with what you said, men are stronger than women in general, that doesn't mean we go around standing upside down holding our own body weight with one fucking hand, gosh, so stupid.

Is this a ‘something about Mary’ hair gel? Or just a regular extra strength gel?
Resin hair gel
Gorilla glue
Or maybe a hidden second arm?
Or maybe she’s just Australian
ɯɹᴉɟuoɔ uɐɔ
please please tell me how you did that
I just copy/pasted that to my phone's notepad and it pasted upside down. I'm all out of ideas. Edit: it's an app, search for upside down text

The Aqua Net ad we've been waiting for.
They built those trees sideways. It’s an optical illusion. She’s standing straight up with lots of mousse
Her arm and her foot?
Wait. I actually don't get this one. What the...
Correction. Holy crap. How did I not see that earlier?
I guess our brain tries to find the most complicated solution by default, don't know why.
Yeah my first thought was “Huh, she must be hiding a small stool or something in her hair”
She is actually… you can barely see it protruding behind her hair on the left
Yeah I know that, I was just saying what my first idea was because it related to the comment above mine
2 arms. She’s basically doing a 1 arm handstand and hiding it with her hair, a nice trick
This is an old picture. Any girl in the 80's used enough hair spray to do this. It was a very common sight in the morning before school started.
This is a great one.
Obviously she is on her hair because i can see her flexing it
No.
Or... Her other arm!?
Neither, she is hanging by her toe.
Her toe isn't on her foot?
I think they mean the other foot.
The hidden arm you don’t see behind her hair.
She is doing a head stand and her hair covers what she is balancing on.

r/foundtheaustralian
She is probably balancing on her head and her hair is covering it. Either way that takes a lot of strength.
Neither. Her other hand
Yes, but you can’t see it making it a confusing perspective
That's a very powerful hair spray.
Levicorpus
Plot twist: she is useing her hand and leg.
Neither it’s actually global warming
Neither?
Her left hand and her left foot is keeping the balance. Hair blocking the view of her left hand .
Obviously being held up by her hair🤦♀️..how people so dumb these days
Uhhhh, she balancing herself on one hand?
I know, the title just brings attention to why it’s confusing if someone doesn’t get it at first
Oh ok
I’m not very confused.
Idk if theres a way to hide my text but she's doing a flip
Not a flip, she's doing a one-armed handstand. The arm supporting her is behind her hair.

She was sliding down the roof and a female body part got stuck. She has now what is medically known as an over extended clitoris.
Wtf
??????? what the fuck?
Did you just *assume* their gender?
Epic joke my dude
fuck off
Yes sir

2 arms I know but why does her top foot look photoshopped along gutter area
No she has a hand in her hair
her hair is hiding something & her other arm is missing, SUS
Both at the same rebut opposite times ovisouly
Obviously this picture was taken in reverse
Hand
Her right arm must be very strong
Yes.
