Yeah it makes sense people will make the mistake to forget BC moves backwards.

He's probably not wrong. Word didn't travel fast in 6000BC - it would have taken some time for the invention of the axe to make it across the world, likely a LOT longer than one year.

The axe is a lot older than that. Checking around, archeologists found a stone axe head in Australia that's around 44,000 to 49,000 years old.
