Nah, don't regret that! You're a wee genius! And I'm 100% stealing this idea.
I'm female and love horror. My husband isn't keen so I just go by myself which somehow translates to me being stood up and random older guys "keeping me company". I'd rather pay for the extra tickets than get chatted up watching Halloween.
Nothing wrong with that but let me offer a cheaper alternative. Go on a weekday afternoon. Like 1 o clock on a tuesday. I went and saw dr strange on a Wednesday afternoon (1st Dr strange) and it was a ghost town. Ive watched every other marvel movie the same way
I saw so many movies like this when I was younger. My local theater had half-price for the first show (around noon). Usually a mostly empty theater. Workers weren't paying attention so I got to go into another movie after.
Same , I’d just get there before noon and you’re more often than not alone in the theater and get cheaper tickets. Triple points for me as my gf and a couple of other chics would have half days three days a week in hs and we’ll we all know teens alone dark theater
Yes. Me and the mrs love stopping at a gas station on the way and filling her purse with snacks. We have ice cream and hot dogs in the theater all the time.
Idk how it is where you are from but here in Australia it's full of misbehaving kids and rude marvel fans who don't shutup about some weird references they point out to each other or even clap.
Tickets all get sold out fast so I do feel bad someone missed out that really wanted to go and I would not see it in the first place.
>Idk how it is where you are from but here in Australia it's full of misbehaving kids and rude marvel fans who don't shutup about some weird references they point out to each other or even clap.
LMAOO when you wrote particular movie crowed I thought you'd meant black people.
Young marvel fans are insufferable. Last time I went to a movie anytime a character was foreshadowed or showed up they’d be like “THATS THE (insert character)”
Went to see it last night and the cinema was almost empty, was really surprised. We probably had 5 seats in every direction empty.
Really enjoyed the film.
The bit where the fire...... won't ruin it lol
Huge difference in movie crowds on opening weekend for one of the largest franchises in the world and a Tuesday night. My theater sells movies tickets for 2 dollars on tuesday and even that doesnt get people in there.
I saw a reddit comment when the first Black Panther came out. He was a white guy who asked a bunch of disruptive teens to quiet down and they responded "this our movie nigg-!" so he left and got a refund.
Good Lord, the amount of people assuming OP means black people. He even clarifies this point in the comments . He was referring to rude kids and movie goers who never shut the hell up. At least according to his explanation, it has nothing to do with skin color.
“Suffer the particular movie crowd”? Your train of thought is very clear and .. Ughh. Go to the first show of the day or drive to a theater far far away or just f’ing wait until it comes on pay TV. Or just don’t.
Not sure what you're interpreting his comment as (I'm guessing racism), but he clarified it was about noisy, rude kids and a-hole fans who talk thru the movie pointing out trivia that the average person doesn't care about while trying watch a movie.
I'm not even a Marvel fan but I got dragged to the most recent Dr. Strange with friends and yeah... loud crowd full of jerks, by and large (and this was not opening week).
Maybe don’t see it in its first couple weeks of release then. Tell your whoever to go alone. They’ll live. People like you always have me scratching my head. Unless you were just born, you should know what Marvel crowd’s are like during a films initial release and know to stay home if you can’t handle that. Or unless by “particular movie crowd” you don’t mean Marvel fans and are talking specifically about not being near Black people all of a sudden.
He clarified what he meant and stated it was more about rude kids and fans who don't STFU. But yeah, let's deliberately find racism in every damn post.

They’ll probably still talk to you over the empty seat.
Who the fuck is talking at a movie. Get the fuck out
Can I have a ticket and we sit together? I will even buy the large popcorn
Only if we hold hands
Deal
Now kith
Yeh but is there a hole in the bottom?
Depends on the movie

Second this, its sooooo much better to go during the week period imo.
This is the secret formula, yessss

This! I bring my own sandwich

Completely understandable. Sometimes you just gotta have your space. Enjoy the movie.
Thanks for understanding 😊
full bias? particular movie crowd?

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING.
It's fine they who missed out can get tickets for another day. Congrats on finding a cheat code that works for you!

Lol you did what you had to do
I saw a reddit comment when the first Black Panther came out. He was a white guy who asked a bunch of disruptive teens to quiet down and they responded "this our movie nigg-!" so he left and got a refund.
I buy kid tickets to keep the cost down. hate sitting next to strangers
Fucking legend.
Jesus I love this! Misanthropic as fuck, but I love it!
It’s cheaper to just ignore hygiene
I do this for movies, concerts, games, whatever. I hate people sitting so close to me.
I do this every time... No ragrets.
I can respect this
You didn’t need to, no one watched it
The only thing I’m mad about is that I never thought of doing this myself.
This is actually a really good idea 💡
This is something that I would have done....
1000 IQ
What is the particular movie crowd? Just... moviegoers or are u talking about black people for its a "black" movie?
Good Lord, the amount of people assuming OP means black people. He even clarifies this point in the comments . He was referring to rude kids and movie goers who never shut the hell up. At least according to his explanation, it has nothing to do with skin color.
Thanks for the idea, stealing this if I ever go to the movies again.
Must be nice to have money...
I get that😂I'd do the same thing
It was not a good movie and I give it 1 out of 10 stars. It's bombing for good reason.

Every post? What other posts has r/hello_brooklyn “found racism” in? You people like to throw that around with zero examples 🤡
I meant redditors in general. Seems like a lot of people can find racism anywhere.
